About the Role:
Responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications; participating in the development and execution of global patent strategies; and managing day-to-day patent activities to support multiple scientific areas (such as, but not limited to: chemistry, biology, biologics, gene therapy, or related programs) within preclinical and clinical development programs.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
Drafts and prosecutes patent applications relating to assigned scientific area (such as, but not limited to: chemistry, biology, biologics, gene therapy, antibodies, peptides and other related programs) that are strategically aligned with the Company’s business objectives
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in life sciences, chemistry, biology or similar biological sciences and 10+ years of in-house and/or law firm patent prosecution and counseling experience related to, but not limited to: chemistry, biology, biologics, gene therapy, antibodies, peptides or other related programs OR
Masters Degree in in life sciences, chemistry, biology or similar biological sciences and 5+ years of similar experience as noted above OR
PhD in in life sciences, chemistry, biology or similar biological sciences and 2+ years of similar experience as noted above
Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office
Ability to work as part of a team; may train lower levels
Excellent computer skills
Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills
Detail oriented yet can see broader picture for department
Ability to meet multiple and aggressive deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Strong project management skills
Expertise in preparing patent applications across scientific areas such as, but not limited to: chemistry, biology, biologics, gene therapy, antibodies, peptides or other related programs)
Ability to work collaboratively with other personnel at Neurocrine

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $96,300.00-$139,425.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
