Manager, Presidents Circle & Annual Giving (NCH)

Reporting to the Foundation’s Assistant Executive Director, the President’s Circle and Annual Giving Manager is a front-line gift officer responsible for developing and implementing plans to grow the annual fund with specific focus on securing gifts of $1,000-$10,000+.

In addition to overseeing the annual fund, this position will steward, retain and grow the existing pool of mid-level donors; identify, cultivate and solicit new mid-level prospects; and build the pipeline of future major gift donors by qualifying individuals for possible assignment to the major gifts team. The role will work to deepen relationships with donors and prospects, inspire donors to upgrade their philanthropic giving and rate NCH Foundation among their top charitable organizations.

Position Highlights:

Position: Manager, Presidents Circle & Annual Giving
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, during normal business hours
Required Travel: local travel will be required for events

What you will do:

Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects for gifts from $1,000 to over $10,000 with emphasis on retaining/upgrading existing donors, reengaging past donors, and securing new donors. Attends organization events and travels to donor or prospect locations.
Develops annual strategic and tactical plans aimed at mid-level donor (President’s Circle) growth, retention and increased giving.
Qualifies prospects for potential major gift/planned giving capacity and interest. Provide appropriate background on prospects to be assigned to major gift or planned giving portfolios and partner with solicitation team as appropriate.
Plans, budgets, and oversees all aspects of the annual fund including direct mail/email campaigns for grateful patient/new donor acquisition; year-end, Doctor's Day and special appeals; and employee and physician giving campaigns; working with other Foundation team members as appropriate. Writes compelling fundraising appeals and proposals to solicit and/or steward annual and mid-level prospects and donors.
Supervises and collaborates with the Sr. Donor Relations Specialist in year-round identification and solicitation of prospects for fundraising event attendance and sponsorship, in-kind goods or services, and outright contributions to maximize net proceeds and meet/exceed annual revenue goals.
Assist Sr. Donor Relations Specialist to leverage engagement opportunities, stewardship reports/events and other available resources to keep annual and mid-level giving prospects and donors involved and informed of ongoing projects and advancements at NCH.
Manages volunteers and committees that promote the President’s Circle, employee and physician giving, and other strategic initiatives.
Develops policies and procedures for group to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Interviews, hires trains, evaluates and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel; schedules and assigns the work of subordinates.
Utilizes Raiser’s Edge to document prospect activity as well as provide reporting of President Circle/annual giving progress toward strategic goals.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field, required
Certification:
Experience: 4+ years of increasingly responsible positions in development, preferably in a healthcare related field with experience directly engaging constituents for fundraising purposes preferred
Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to present NCH in a positive manner to the public, current and potential donors, and hospital personnel.
- Ability to work with various groups of hospital personnel, volunteers and donors acting as the primary motivator for specific fundraising and stewardship activities and goals.
- Organizational skills necessary to independently manage the development and implementation of multiple programs and assignments in a detailed, accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Written and analytical skills necessary to create, research, and write materials to effectively educate, motivate, solicit and acknowledge donors.
- Mathematical skills necessary to prepare budgets and project revenues.
- Ability to work independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of internal and external seniority.
