Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including chicken, livers, gizzards.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Assist customers in selecting deli items and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including food preparation surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
- Receive and inspect deliveries of deli products to ensure quality and freshness.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register accurately.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain food safety standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the deli department.
Experience:
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a deli or similar setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and proper cooking temperatures.
- Familiarity with menu planning and catering for special events is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate portioning and presentation of deli items.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
