Full Job Description

SiloSmashers is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for a complete range of Agile professional services to develop,
modernize and enhance S&T's network monitoring tool including SolarWinds.
Candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining and optimizing the Network Monitoring and Alerting system and related components, to achieve and maintain high performance and availability of the whole IT infrastructure for over 2500+ users across 5+ remote labs.

Responsibilities:
·Manage ServiceNow tickets and service requests to ensure a resolution in a timely and efficient manner.

Develop standard operating procedures and user guides for the enterprise monitoring solutions.
The contractor shall Identify and develop ways to improve and automate monitoring to gain operational efficiencies and improve responsiveness.
The contractor shall evaluate the effectiveness of S&T applications and make recommendations for improvements.
The contractor shall perform feasibility analysis on potential future applications.
The contractor shall support the analysis of S&T's current license purchase and determine if license types, and quantity are correct for S&T's strategy for SolarWinds.

Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
10+ years of experience on multiple OS platforms.
5+ years of experience with monitoring the Azure, Amazon cloud and VMware virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with Cisco, Microsoft, and Linux server OS.
Good knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS and other Windows core services.
Ability to develop standard operating procedures and documentation.
Ability to research solutions for various business needs and technical problems; this includes evaluating alternatives and providing recommendations.
Excellent communication skills to explain technical information and requirements effectively to others both orally and written.
Familiarity with principles and practice of system configuration and change management.
Candidate must be able to obtain a US "Public Trust" clearance.

Desired Education/Skills:

Certifications: Solarwinds Certified Professional (SCP)
7-10 years of experience in solarwinds.
5+years of experience in scripting development.
Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.
Experience with IT service management best practices such as change, problem, incident, configuration and service level management is strongly preferred.
