Full Job Description

The Systems Engineer Level II is responsible for implementing and maintaining complex IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with the following technologies: VMWare, Fiber Channel and iSCSI SANs, Microsoft Azure AD and Office 365, Windows Servers (file sharing and IIS services), Active Directory Group Policies, systems patching, Veeam Backup, Solarwinds, and Symantec End Point Security. Daily tasks include monitoring backup jobs and servers, creating and documenting processes and procedures, resolving trouble tickets, and working with other teams and departments in the organization to resolve issues proactively and reactively.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Works without considerable direction to establish/update design principles and standards for all systems components and configurations and maintain this documentation on a regular frequency.

· Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Fiber Channel and iSCSI SAN, VMWare infrastructure, Windows Servers, Azure AD, Office 365, Exchange online, Veeam Backup, Solarwinds, and Symantec End Point Protection.

· Enforce technical support service levels agreements to meet problem resolution expectations and timeframes.

· Routine tasks include keeping servers and systems up to date, planning and resolving issues in audit findings, preventative maintenance on backup storage and scheduling, updating GPOs, creating and assigning security groups, checking for malicious activities, and resolving service tickets.

· Assist in implement security measures to protect the organization's data and systems.

· Configure and maintain Solarwinds to proactively monitor systems and send email alerts on system failures or warnings.

· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other IT systems.

· Willingness to take ownership of and be accountable for proactively monitoring and maintaining the stability and security of all corporate networked systems and data on-prem and in the cloud.

· Work closely with the team and manager on new solutions, changes, and ideas for improving operations or systems.

· Track and maintain equipment and software inventory.

· Other system and infrastructure duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 3+ years (5+ years in lieu of education) of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field.

3+ years’ experience with the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring of the following network services: Fiber Channel and iSCSI SAN, VMWare vCenter and vSphere, Horizon VDI, Windows Servers, Windows File Sharing, Group Policy Objects, Backups, Security Policies, Privilege management, PowerShell, Hybrid Active Directory, Multifactor Authentication, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Microsoft Azure AD, and Microsoft Office 365 apps and security services. Cisco MDS Fiber Channel Switches and Fabric Manager. Dell Compellent and Power Store, True NAS, and Pure Storage SAN. Dell Data Domain 6300 and 6400 backup storage. Genetec video surveillance systems and cameras are a plus. Strong knowledge and working experience in troubleshooting, problem, and performance analyzing. Strong communications and writing skills.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000
