General Purpose: To construct and repair buildings and structures under the instruction of the site Superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Install and repair components such as framing, doors, windows, ceilings, drywall, flooring, cabinets, etc.

Complete finish work such as trim and paint

Construct or repair sites using the correct materials according to blueprints, specifications, drawings, and/or verbal instructions

Demolition and site preparation prior to renovation

Properly transport and dispose of all trash and debris
-
Follow all OSHA and safety guidelines
-
Knowledge of tools and equipment such as hammers, utility knife, wrench, saws, drills, ladders, scaffolding, etc. and how to properly use them
-
Constructing chutes for concrete delivery, and disassembly forms after concrete is set
-
Frame structures using metal and/or wood building materials, lumber, or studs
-
Install blocking and structural bracing/supports per blueprints or plans
-
Read blueprints and accurately transferring layouts to ensure construction is correct
-
Apply joint compound/tape to seams and finish smooth when working with drywall
-
Sand drywall in preparation for prime and paint

Ensure correct layout and placement of diffusers, lights, sprinkler heads, etc. after installing acoustical grid ceilings and tiles

Check doors, window frames, and cabinetry are level and plumb

Hang door slabs and install hardware

Prepare substrate install VCT, carpet, sheet vinyl, etc. when working with flooring

Fabricate and seal dust barriers to contain dust and debris. Place necessary air filtration devices to meet requirements in the work area

Ensure items such as sticky mats and shoe covers are in place to prevent contamination of surrounding areas
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: This position requires GED/high school education; or up to 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications: Must obtain OSHA-10, First Aid/CPR and ICRA certification within 1st year of employment
License: This position does not require any licenses.

Physical Demands: This position rarely requires sitting or the use of taste/smell. This position sometimes requires walking. This position frequently requires standing, the use of hands to finger to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking/hearing.
This position frequently requires lifting up to 100 pounds. This position rarely requires lifting more than 100 pounds.
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are important components of this job.
Work Environment: This position rarely requires exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet or humid conditions or extreme heat or cold conditions (non-weather related), and outdoor weather conditions. This position sometimes requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. This position frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is considered loud (manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment) to very loud (jack-hammer work, front row at a rock concert) depending on the job site.
Travel: This position may require travel of up to 30% of the time.
