Hair Stylist - Position Description

The Position Description below is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. It is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities, and it is subject to changes and exceptions at the discretion of supervisors.

JOB TITLE: Hair Stylist Position

FLSA: Exempt

LOCATION: Fourteenjay Salon

REPORTS TO: Owner and Guest Care Team Leader

Primary Objective:

Fourteenjay is passionate about creating an exceptional, seamless guest experience for every guest at every visit. We believe that every interaction with every guests contributes to the quality of their experience and that what we say, what we do and the image we present are essential components of the guest experience. This position works directly with the Owner and Head of Color Department to execute all aspects of the Fourteenjay guest experience and to ensure the Fourteenjay service promise is delivered to every guest.

Responsibilities:

Know and understand the Fourteenjay vision, mission and values
Execute all Guest Care protocols to Fourteenjay Service Wheel standards
Execute all Hair Cutting and Styling Skills and Techniques to Fourteenjay standards
Execute all Shampoo protocols to Fourteenjay standards
Execute Fourteenjay Customized Consultation with every guest and in partnership with Fourteenjay colorists.
Complete Fourteenjay Keratin and Extension Services Training to established standards
Demonstrate the ability to execute Keratin and Extension Services to Fourteenjay standards, offering options, writing down the options, quoting time and price before the service begins
Work in collaboration with all Fourteenjay Hair Colorists to ensure that all guests receive an exceptional service in accordance with Fourteenjay standards
Maintain full and complete guest service records
Provide beverages, refreshments and chair side guest care to Fourteenjay standards to all guests
Wash, dry and fold towels, capes, gowns, etc. as part of the Fourteenjay daily Zone and housekeeping routing
Execute Zone Duties as assigned
Execute all salon set up, opening and closing routines as defined
Re-stocking home care and color inventory as needed
Salon cleanliness checks as scheduled
Sanitation per state requirement
Ability to work retail hours including weekends, holidays and special events as needed.
Ability to attend and satisfactorily complete all company education as required.
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Current New York State Cosmetology license
Strong personal organization and time management skills
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to work retail hours including weekends, holidays and special events as needed
