How you will create an impact

The Regional Inland Marine Technical Claims Lead role is a key position responsible for supporting and delivering the Inland Marine Claims proposition within North America (NAM). The role serves as the lead regional technical referral point for NAM Inland Marine claim team members as well as collaboration with regional claims leadership, Inland Marine underwriting business leaders & other stakeholders to deliver a consistent, efficient and customer centric Inland Marine claim proposition.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong technical inland marine claim support and leadership across NAM Inland Marine claims, aimed at ensuring the best possible loss outcomes through technical excellence and Total Cost of Claim management
Act as the NAM Inland Marine claims coordinator for large claims, authorizing reserves and payments within granted authority and referring over authority claim decisions to appropriate senior claims leadership
Work closely with Global Head Marine Claims to support development of bench strength across NAM Inland Marine claims to ensure appropriate skill sets to support both existing and future state claim portfolios
Support continuous review of existing best practice guidelines and claim adjustment procedures in conjunction with the Global Head Marine Claims to facilitate the identification and subsequent implementation of enhancement delivery to ensure best practice in Inland Marine claims
Develop AIG’s NAM Inland Marine claim industry thought leadership by supporting local Claims colleagues in contributing to and participating in local market seminars, programs & industry events
Contribute to the implementation of VBA, LRA and any future digital initiatives to improve operational efficiency
Support Global Head Marine Claims in the identification and reporting of Inland Marine claim trends, lessons learned & risk management opportunities and to share with relevant Inland Marine stakeholders (to include Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Risk Management)

Technical Skills and Expertise:
Strong technical Inland Marine claim capability to manage and oversee AIG’s NAM Inland Marine Claim portfolio
Demonstrate an established & proven reputation in Inland Marine Insurance claim management
Ability to manage the total cost of Inland Marine claims in indemnity & expense
Identify, develop and implement process improvement and efficiency opportunities
Highly collaborative approach to influence a broad range of NAM Inland Marine stakeholders, customers and brokers / producers across multiple functions, geographies and cultures
