Part-Time Accounting Clerk

The Philadelphia Tribune Media Group is an award-winning, multi-media company and the nation’s oldest, continuously published African American newspaper. The company also publishes print and digital versions of the Philadelphia Tribune, various community focused supplements and as well as producing events of interest that impact the African American community.

Job Summary: We have a unique opportunity for a highly organized, detailed oriented accounting clerk that will report directly to the Accounting Manager. This is a part-time position and you will work no more than nineteen (19) hours per week.

You will be representing a newspaper with an unprecedented legacy within the region’s African-American community and also played a significant role in some of the most pivotal events within the last 100 years in African and American history.

Job Requirements:

Performs account reconciliation on a weekly basis
Assists in the processing of account payables and receivables via ADP system
Routine typing, filing, and scanning correspondence, reports and documents
Distribution of mail and preparing vouchers
Receives, sorts, delivers, picks up and processes interoffice mail, magazines and all classes of United States Postal Services (USPS) mail

Desired Qualifications:

Understands basic accounting procedures
Have fast, accurate data entry skills
Musts be proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
1 to 2 years clerical and administrative support experience
Possess effective communication skills
Possess excellent presentation skills
