Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Culpeper District is seeking an Assistant Residency Administrator to assist with the coordination, integration, and management of VDOT resources to achieve residency and district program goals in the Warrenton Residency. The incumbent may serve as the primary point of contact or liaison with district staff, stakeholders, local governments, and the public concerning residency maintenance and construction projects impacting the local geographic region. Responsibilities will include managing resources and staff overseeing residency maintenance operations, contract administration, customer service, environmental compliance and other residency programs. The incumbent will be a part of a professional, results oriented team that is innovative and progressive in its approach to solving problems and enhancing the safety and functionality of the Commonwealth’s highway system in the Warrenton Residency.

Minimum Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of roadway construction and maintenance operations, equipment, materials, and techniques
- Considerable knowledge of federal and state rules, regulations, and policies as they relate to transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Skill in the use of computers and software applications
- Skill in maintaining effective relationships and building teams
Additional Considerations
- Education in Civil Engineering or related field and/or combination of training, experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, roadway design, project development/management and construction
- Engineering in Training or Professional Engineer License
- Experience leading and supervising others
- Experience in the management of transportation programs and projects of varying complexity
- Experience in budget development and administration using automated financial software systems
