About CVI

The Center for the Visually Impaired (CVI) empowers people impacted by vision loss to live with independence, dignity, and opportunity. As a nonprofit organization serving individuals across Georgia, CVI is recognized for innovative care models and a commitment to expanding what is possible for people with visual impairment.

Position Summary

CVI is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Associate to support the organization’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth execution of development operations, including gift processing, donor communications, events, and data management. This position also provides support to marketing and communications efforts.

The Development Associate is an important team member who helps facilitate the growth of CVI’s philanthropic support. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and brings strong administrative, communication, and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Fundraising Support

· Assist with annual fund initiatives, including maintaining donor lists, coordinating mailings, and processing contributions

· Enter gifts, generate acknowledgments, and ensure accurate, up-to-date donor records across systems

· Manage calendars for foundation proposals, reports, and stewardship activities

· Provide support for CVI’s annual fundraising event (Night Visions)

· Track activities and provide general administrative support for donor engagement and fundraising initiatives

Board & Organizational Support

· Support CEO in managing board and committee coordination by scheduling meetings and preparing reports and materials

· Assist with internal and external communications by updating lists, formatting materials, and supporting distribution

· Compile volunteer survey data and share insights with the operations team

· Assist with special projects and help identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

Marketing & Communications Support

· Provide administrative support to the Marketing Director, including managing correspondence, scheduling, and follow-up items

· Coordinate marketing and outreach materials, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials

· Support basic data entry and CRM updates related to marketing activities

Qualifications

Required

· 1–3+ years of experience in administrative, development, or marketing support roles

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Exceptional attention to detail, including proofreading and editing

· Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities

· Experience with basic project coordination and vendor interaction

· Proficiency with Microsoft 365

Preferred

· Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or marketing environments

· Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., eTapestry) and email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)

· Experience supporting events, donor relations, or board activities

· Familiarity with social media platforms and basic marketing support

Work Environment

· Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for events
