THE ROLE DEFINED

The Assistant Vice President will be responsible for the leadership of selected services related to providing programming to support residents. The Assistant Vice President of Program Delivery works collaboratively with Residential Living to own, design, and implement enriching programming to support and enhance residents’ quality of life. This individual works directly with their Directors to ensure high quality service is provided to our residents. This role will require leadership and support for the ongoing growth and development of their team members. This individual will also be responsible for supporting and aligning the strategy for their program with the VP of Program Delivery. The Assistant Vice President will collaborate with other AVP’s, Directors and the Vice President of Program Delivery to provide exceptional care and service for our residents.

SCOPE AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional

· The Assistant Vice President will possess a working knowledge and belief of the organization’s mission, philosophy, purpose, and scope of services. In addition, awareness of all policies and procedures concerning residents, families, personnel, and those specific to their associated residences.
The AVP is a member of the leadership team and is responsible for communicating with other AVP’s member regarding the concerns of residents, and families on a regular basis. In emergency situations, the AVP is responsible for providing information to the Executive Director in a timely manner.
Supports the VP in the design and implementation of broad programming strategy; prepares and aligns strategy for own area, looking out 2-3 years and driving positive change within the program.
Manages area KPI’s and compiles reports from areas to review with VP. Formulates an interpretation of the data, creates possible solutions, and collaborates with other AVP’s to solve shared problems.
Regulatory compliance oversight, ensuring quality and supporting the Directors in meeting compliance needs.
Forms strong staff relationships and relationships with other AVP’s and VP’s; demonstrates the ability to collaborate and maintain open and effective communication through relationships and partnerships.
Builds and maintains an external network of contacts and seeks out opportunities for networking and to represent the organization in the public eye.
The AVP is responsible for ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations of the federal government, State of Illinois, Department of Labor, the City of Chicago for licensure, and Medicaid for certification purposes. This includes maintaining documentation and records as necessary.
Invests in the talent and development of their team members; develops Directors and supports their ongoing growth and holds Directors accountable for the growth of their team members. Collects themes and trends on development and shares with VP.
Holds Directors accountable for delivering against expectations and meeting goals; offers support, removes obstacles where possible, and takes action when expectations are not met.
Generates solutions and takes the initiative to support their area with a focus on the future of the organization.

Your Team: You will be managing and leading a team of Directors who manage Supervisors and Direct Care Staff.

Deliver Results: Persists in driving for the most critical results in spite of challenges and prioritize activities that are critical for moving the organization forward.

Brings teams along in understanding the challenges and opportunities and creates feedback loops for this information

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SETS REQUIRED

Education: A Master’s degree in a Human Service Area
State of Illinois Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
Knowledge of regulations, day programs, ICF|HCBS and government contacts necessary in residential services
Knowledge of nonprofit businesses and how they operate
Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service area and / or at least 5 years of strong residential leadership experience
Experience building and maintain strong partnerships
Experience developing others
Experience with managing and building teams
Experience developing and monitoring strategy implementation
Maintain confidentiality of work
Experience with conflict resolution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent management and team building skills
Understanding of EHR
Basic computer skills

Pay: $130,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
