Road Service Foreman/Lead Technician: Mobile Diesel Division

Pay: (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time — 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM — No remote work

Role Purpose

The Foreman role is a leadership position built on the same performance-driven foundation as the Partner Technician program, with expanded responsibility for quality control, team development, and operational execution. The Foreman ensures that all mechanical repairs meet or exceed customer expectations and company standards while actively developing technicians into high-performing Partner-level contributors.

This role blends hands-on technical leadership with accountability for shop efficiency, repair quality, and team growth. The Foreman serves as the primary bridge between technicians, service advisors, and management.

Technical & Quality Leadership

Oversee repair quality across mobile service operations
Perform and enforce quality control checks during repairs and at job completion
Identify workmanship-related comebacks and determine root cause
Investigate repair failures and educate technicians on correct procedures
Provide real-time technical support to on-site technicians

Team Development & Performance

Lead, educate, and mentor technicians under management
Build technician skill sets to increase efficiency and billed hours
Set and monitor individualized billed-hour goals per technician
Coach technicians on documentation, workflow, and repair strategy
Uphold Partner Technician standards for professionalism and independence

Workflow & Operations Management

Plan daily manpower based on shop workload and priorities
Coordinate job assignments with service advisors based on technician skill level
Oversee multiple mobile service operations simultaneously
Support equipment issues impacting technician productivity
Ensure Fullbay workflows, MPI completion, and QC processes are followed

Hiring & Growth

Participate in interviewing and hiring for technician positions
Assist in onboarding and developing new technicians
Identify technicians ready for Partner Pay transition

Foreman Performance Expectations

Foremen are expected to:

Maintain consistent shop-wide quality standards
Be accessible across all areas of the operation
Lead by example in professionalism, documentation, and accountability
Actively improve technician efficiency and billed-hour output
Protect company reputation through repair quality and customer trust
Maintain an average technician efficiency of at least 80% across all assigned technicians, calculated using invoiced hours divided by clocked hours.

Required

5+ years of heavy-duty diesel truck or commercial equipment experience
Experience with Freightliner, International, Volvo/Mack, Ford, Isuzu, Hino, etc.
Capable of performing both diagnostics and mechanical repairs
Familiarity with aftertreatment systems (DPF, SCR, EGR)
Experience using OEM or high-end diagnostic platforms
Valid driver’s license (CDL A/B preferred but not required)
Must own necessary hand tools for commercial trucks
Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced, high-standard shop

Preferred (but not required)

CDL License
Prior fleet or dealership experience
Any leadership, foreman, or mentor experience
