Job Description:
The Post Award Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and operational support for projects administered by The Research Foundation for SUNY at Binghamton University. The position requires strong customer service, fiscal oversight, and ability to interpret and apply complex policies, procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Administration, the Post Award Financial Analyst will work closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure seamless delivery of financial and administrative services to internal and external stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Become familiar with federal regulations and sponsor award terms, in addition to Binghamton University and Research Foundation policy; be able to interpret and apply such regulations as they pertain to the administration of awards.
- Establish and maintain awards in the ORACLE business system.
- Monitor award activities to ensure financial compliance, i.e. allowable costs, re-budgeting, and reporting requirements.
- Review personnel appointments so ensure allowability with award terms and conditions.
- Review, monitor and report on cost share obligations as required.
- Monitors compliance with time and effort commitments and federal effort reporting requirements. Coordinate timely effort reporting certification; assist certifiers with process and provide training when necessary.
- Coordinate award closeout process within the assigned portfolio.
- Responsible for subrecipient monitoring and payments.
- Respond to inquiries or requests for assistance as they relate to financial management.
- Assist in the preparation of materials related to audit inquiries for internal, sponsor, federal or state audits.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, campus partners, sponsors, and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associates degree from an accredited institution and two years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic office productivity applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and communications, including Microsoft Office program or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage responsibilities independently and contribute productively in a collaborative team environment.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present information to diverse individuals and groups.
Additional Information:
Salary: $52,500 Annually. Please note, this position involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will require the incumbent to be onsite 100% of the time. Additionally, Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
