Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Remote Medical Coder, where you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding of medical records. This position offers the flexibility to work from home while maintaining high standards of precision and efficiency. Your expertise will support healthcare providers in documenting patient encounters, facilitating billing processes, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines. Responsibilities

Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes using established coding systems such as ICD-10-CM and CPT.
Ensure all coding aligns with current medical guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.
Accurately interpret medical terminology, physician notes, and documentation to support precise coding.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing teams to clarify documentation discrepancies or ambiguities.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information by adhering to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to access, review, and update patient records.
Complete audits and quality checks to ensure coding accuracy and compliance across all records.

Qualifications

Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical record management.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and coding guidelines such as ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals remotely.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
