Full Job Description

Grace Covenant Academy has openings in our Middle School Science department, as well as for Coaches, for the 2026-2027 school year.

Join our team of experienced, certified, Christian teachers who communicate God's work throughout human history in an engaging, active classroom experience.

Teachers provide small-class instruction three days a week and create carefully scripted lesson plans for the two home days in the University School Model.

Because our team of teachers helps parents accomplish our mission to disciple our students through a rigorous Christian education, communication with parents is critical to the position.

This is a part-time position. Tuition discount provided for teachers' children.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
A valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for the assigned subject and level, or documentation of acceptance into a TEA-recognized Alternative Certification Program, is preferred.

Skills:

Knowledge of academic subject area
Knowledge of teaching theories, skills, and principles
Ability to teach, instruct, and lead students in an engaging, cooperative fashion
Ability to work in a team and receive coaching in an innovative model
Gracious and professional communication with parents
Ability to maintain an active and focused classroom

Spiritual:

Must be a committed Christian who is able to share how God is working in your life
Committed member of a local church
Heart for communicating God's love to students

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Prepare weekly lesson plans and assessments according to Grace Covenant Academy standards and curriculum.
Prepare materials for class instruction.
Execute lesson plans, effectively communicate, and competently teach subject matter.
Update and maintain grades and attendance on FACTS
Work with parents to foster an open, helpful, supportive partner relationship.
Maintain a class environment that promotes learning, limits distractions, practices grace, and honors Jesus.
Attend appropriate meetings and events.
Model Christ, proclaim the Gospel, and love the students.
Participate in required staff training.
Work with other members of the staff team to provide a well-balanced, Gospel-oriented, Christian education.
