Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in spectroscopy systems to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of advanced electrical and electronic systems for spectroscopic instruments. This position requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience in circuit/system design, and a collaborative approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
Job Responsibilities:
- Senior Electrical Engineer lead the design, development, and testing of electrical and electronic subsystems for spectroscopy instruments (e.g., OEM, Raman, etc.).
- Architect and implement analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit designs, including low-noise signal acquisition, high-speed data interfaces, and power management systems.
- Collaborate with optical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate hardware into complete spectroscopy solutions.
- Drive the development of prototypes, validation testing, and transition to production.
- Evaluate new components, technologies, and methods to improve system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Senior Electrical Engineer provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, ensuring high engineering standards and best practices.
- Work with product management to translate customer needs into technical specifications and design requirements.
- Senior Electrical Engineer author and review technical documentation including schematics, design specifications, test plans, and compliance reports.
- Provide production support including: documentation, training, troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts (e.g., EMC, safety, CE/FCC certifications) for instrument designs.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s or PhD preferred.
Experience: 8+ years in electrical/electronic design, with at least 5 years in spectroscopy, scientific instrumentation, or related high-tech fields.
- Senior Electrical Engineer must have proven expertise in analog and digital circuit design, low-noise signal processing, and embedded system development.
- Strong experience with PCB layout, simulation tools, and circuit modeling software (e.g., SPICE, Altium, OrCAD).
- Familiarity with photodetectors, light sources, ADC/DACs, FPGA/microcontroller-based system design.
- Experience with data acquisition, high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet, PCIe), and real-time control systems.
- Senior Electrical Engineer must have knowledge of regulatory standards (UL, CE, FCC, ISO) and product lifecycle development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with spectroscopy techniques (Raman, FTIR, UV-VIS, NMR, etc.) and related instrumentation.
- Knowledge of optics, optoelectronics, or photonics integration.
- Experience with simulation and modeling of optical/electrical interactions.
- Familiarity with machine learning or advanced signal processing for spectral data analysis.
