Full Job Description

Position Purpose

We are looking for a Technical Data Analyst to turn clinical challenges into actionable insights. In this role, you will independently identify business needs, translate them into actionable findings, and lead stakeholder engagement by partnering deeply with our Clinical and Employer Operations teams. We need a self-driven analyst who can navigate raw data, align technical metrics with operational workflows, and present clear insights that directly improve our Value-Based Care performance.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong communication channels and relationships with clinical and business stakeholders.
Compile, synthesize, and analyze clinical and operational data from multiple sources to drive improvements in health outcomes, cost reduction, and network optimization.
Maintain and update data models to ensure accuracy in reporting.
Independently manage a portfolio of work, ensuring all projects remain within scope and meet established deadlines.
Use SQL and open-source technologies to analyze key metrics, solve complex business questions, and optimize internal processes.
Perform comprehensive data reviews to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of clinical and business datasets.
Manage clinical and process reporting using best practices in statistics, informatics, and data visualization.
Light housekeeping (shared by all employees).
Protect Monument’s value by keeping information confidential.
Review systems and processes and suggest/make modifications to address issues.
Occasional travel is required for conferences and assignments.
Perform other related duties as necessary to ensure the efficient functioning of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

High attention to detail, specifically regarding data definitions, edge cases, and quality assurance.
Healthcare experience or other experience having worked in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Commitment to reproducible workflows, ensuring all analysis is documented and can be audited by peers.
Must be a highly-motivated, self-driven person who can learn quickly and be comfortable in a fast-paced, start-up environment where direct feedback is regularly provided.
Must work well independently and on a team.
Must be skilled in high-impact, business communication and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
Must adopt and live the Monument Health core values.

Education and Certifications Requirements

Baccalaureate degree required. Graduate degree preferred. Training in a technical field (e.g. math, statistics, epidemiology, biostatistics, business analytics, data science) is preferred.

Technical Data Analyst I

Essential Job Functions

Execute routine clinical and operational data extractions to support ongoing organizational reporting needs.
Perform data profiling and cleansing to identify anomalies or inconsistencies in raw datasets.
Translate basic business requests into technical queries and visual summaries that are easy for stakeholders to interpret.
Assist in the documentation of data dictionaries and analytical workflows to ensure team-wide consistency.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Basic understanding of relational database structures (Primary keys, Foreign keys, and Join logic).
Understanding of descriptive statistics and data distributions to ensure the integrity of analytical findings.
Proficiency in using code (e.g., SQL, Python) to transform, aggregate, and structure datasets for analytical use.
Comfort operating within open-source coding environments and leveraging documentation to resolve technical hurdles.

Technical Data Analyst II

Essential Job Functions

Proactively identify opportunities for advanced analytics that align with organizational strategy and Value-Based Care goals.
Drive the development of metrics from conception through implementation, utilizing industry standards and evidence-based literature.
Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical initiatives by analyzing performance trends and providing data-driven recommendations to optimize Value-Based Care results.
Provide expert-level interpretation of complex datasets, identifying the "why" behind performance trends and suggesting corrective actions.
Serve as a primary technical liaison for high-level stakeholders, translating complex modeling outputs into actionable strategic recommendations.
Audit and peer-review the work of other analysts to ensure the highest standards of mathematical and logical integrity.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

1-3 years of increasing responsibility within an analytical role.
Advanced proficiency in using SQL for data extraction and manipulation is required.
Demonstrated skill in building production-ready dashboards in Tableau or similar BI tools.
Experience using Python, R, or other coding environments to solve complex problems and automate data tasks is preferred.
Experience in developing predictive frameworks and models is preferred.

This position is open to candidates currently residing in, or willing to relocate to, one of the following states: Colorado, Nevada, Ohio, or Oklahoma.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
