Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP's Software Engineering Services Business Area is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Middletown, RI. This role offers a hybrid work environment, balancing remote productivity with essential on-site collaboration at our facility and customer sites. In this role, you will design and build critical desktop applications and modern frontend user interfaces while interacting directly with Navy customers and stakeholders to translate their mission needs into intuitive software solutions.
Job Responsibilities Include:

Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and maintain front-end user interfaces and desktop applications.

Implement intuitive, responsive UI designs based on customer feedback and team guidelines.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code utilizing modern frameworks.

Support backend engineering team members to ensure seamless integration and overall system performance.

Participate in customer-facing discussions, requirement gathering sessions, and product demonstrations alongside team peers.
Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering and application development experience.
Required Skills:

Proven track record in building and maintaining desktop applications.

Strong proficiency in designing interactive, data-driven front-end user interfaces.

Deep technical expertise in JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Java.

Strong interpersonal skills with experience interfacing directly with customers or stakeholders.

Ability to work in a hybrid/on-site capacity out of the Middletown, RI facility.

U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at our Middletown facilities.
Ideal Experience:

Prior experience developing software for Navy, submarine, or maritime defense applications.

An active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher) is highly preferred.

Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
