Senior Data Scientist / Exploitation Specialist / NGA MAVEN Program

Location: Springfield, VA
Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required
Position Type: Full-Time
Openings: 3 FTEs

Position Overview

Seeking Senior Data Scientists to support the NGA MAVEN Program. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data architectures, databases, cloud environments, and operational data pipelines that support advanced GEOINT, AI/ML, and intelligence data operations across multiple security domains.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in data engineering, ETL processes, cloud architectures, API integration, and data governance while supporting mission-critical intelligence systems and emerging sensor technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain databases, schemas, and data architectures supporting NGA MAVEN initiatives.
Develop and manage ETL pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and movement of intelligence data.
Build API-based workflows to support data exchange across systems and security domains.
Support SQL and NoSQL database environments and cloud-based architectures.
Ensure compliance with Government data standards, governance policies, metadata requirements, and access controls.
Monitor data quality, availability, performance, and operational health.
Support cross-domain data movement and enterprise data integration efforts.
Maintain software environments, repositories, and development platforms supporting mission operations.
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and Government stakeholders to support AI/ML and GEOINT missions.

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
4+ years of experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and cloud architectures.
Experience developing and maintaining operational data pipelines and ETL workflows.
Experience leveraging APIs for data integration and migration.
Proficiency with Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting NGA, DoD, or Intelligence Community programs.
Experience with NGA CORE, NGA MLOps, ATO processes, and NPE certificates.
Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies.
Experience developing operational dashboards and data visualizations.
Experience supporting AI/ML, GEOINT, or cloud-based data environments.
