SUMMARY
The Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the deposit operations function to ensure accuracy, compliance, and superior service delivery. This role involves managing a team of deposit operations staff responsible for the key operational processes, serving as the subject matter expert of deposit services, and collaborating with branch staff and other departments to optimize deposit operations. Additionally, this role involves managing daily activities, adhering to regulatory requirements, and leading efforts to streamline processes and implement new solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following tasks are fundamental to the position and necessary for its successful execution:
- Supervises daily operations and manages risks by ensuring controls and procedures are in place and function effectively. This includes managing staffing, cross-training, and ensuring compliance with established processes. Key daily operations include exception item processing, debit card support and processing, ACH and wire processing, and digital banking support.
- Oversees the wire transfer process, including developing and maintaining policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and assisting with wire transfers as needed.
- Administers debit card operations, including vendor relationships, program administration, cost and performance reporting, and oversight of day-to-day processing and dispute settlement.
- Leads efforts to identify and implement changes to improve efficiency and quality across departmental operations, while collaborating with other departments to explore cross-functional improvement opportunities.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for complex deposit-related inquiries, issues, and project management initiatives.
- Coordinates with IT and external vendors to implement system updates or troubleshoot technical issues affecting deposit operations.
- Maintains strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards, protecting customer deposits, bank assets, and staff through effective controls and security measures.
- Leads and mentors the Deposit Operations team, fostering a high-performance culture and professional development opportunities.
- Prepares and presents reports for Executive Officers, Compliance, Audit, Risk Committee meetings, and regulatory reviews.
- Provides training and support to branch staff on deposit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manages and resolves high-priority customer interactions, ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained.
- Identifies and mitigates risks in deposit processes, including fraud prevention and data security.
- Dedicates additional hours during month-end and year-end periods for tasks such as, tax reporting, and updating parameters on the core system to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The position of Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision of the deposit operations staff and normally carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Bank's policies and applicable laws, ensuring adherence to EEO guidelines.
The Deposit Operations Manager’s supervisory responsibilities include:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three years of related experience in deposit operations or a related banking role; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank operational policies and procedures, and the Bank's products and services.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to data security and fraud prevention.
- Problem-solving skills, utilizing knowledge of policies and procedures to determine resolution.
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Office product suite.
- Organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision while performing duties.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong work ethic that supports a willingness to handle multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others.
