We are seeking an experienced, personable, and dependable Bartender to provide excellent beverage service in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, engage with guests, maintain a clean and organized bar, and ensure all service complies with company policies and applicable alcohol regulations.
The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about common cocktails and spirits, and able to remain professional and efficient during busy shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
- Answer questions and make recommendations regarding beverages, menu items, and specials.
- Verify identification and follow all applicable alcohol-service laws and responsible-service procedures.
- Accurately enter orders, process payments, and maintain accountability for cash and credit-card transactions.
- Monitor guest consumption and respond appropriately when responsible alcohol-service intervention is required.
- Set up, stock, clean, and close the bar according to established procedures.
- Maintain adequate inventory of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies.
- Wash and polish glassware and keep bar surfaces, equipment, and service areas clean and sanitary.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, managers, and other team members.
- Assist with inventory counts, product rotation, and reporting shortages or damaged items.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or high-volume hospitality experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of common cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service.
- Strong guest-service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize orders, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale system.
- Must meet the minimum legal age required to serve alcohol.
- Alcohol-service certification required where applicable.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other high-volume periods.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with moderate to high noise levels.
Compensation
The wage range listed in this profile represents the lower end of the position’s typical total earnings. Bartenders generally earn additional tip income, and average total compensation may be higher depending on shift volume, scheduling, seasonality, guest traffic, and individual performance. Tip income is not guaranteed and may vary by shift.
