Management plays the scapegoat game and the scapegoat is always their nurses. No work/life balance, they will have you working well past your 9-5 hours and often make you start early for appointments or meetings. They overwhelm you with your caseload and don’t take into account drive time or distance traveled. They say yes to literally every case and then figure out how to staff wherever the person is or how to actually care for them after, to the detriment of their nurses and your pay. And if a patient has a history of abuse to their nurses, they will still take on the same patient time and time again. This entire job is a bait and switch with no support from management. No holidays, barely any PTO and your PTO and sick are rolled into one very poorly paid package. They say you have autonomy on your schedule but that is not the case. They ask more, more, more without taking into account your caseload, distance to travel, time required etc. then it’s your fault if you can’t handle the caseload, have to work OT without pay to complete and meet expectations, etc. they will claim poor time management, spent too long with patients, surely you should be able to organize the schedule better to achieve the impossible. Very toxic workplace. Within 2 months when I first started there were 3+ people who quit- one didn’t even stay 2 weeks and she had 20 years experience in home health. She knew to run. You should too

Pros: 
High and CONSISTENT patient flow, even during a pandemic
90% of field team members are amazing
Directors are fast at responding to difficult situations
CEO is very honest, flexible with accommodating your needs and actually follows through with what he says
Provides you with work supplies you ask in a timely manner
QA people are easy with documentation
Minimal supervision and micromanagement
Lots of company parties/picnics pre-pandemic
Payroll responds fast to any questions and is 99.9% accurate.

Cons: 
Poor Onboarding and training.  (Job is very easy if you already have previous HH experience, but will be very difficult if you are fresh into HH)
Laggy intake support/communication with everyday questions/things
Limited company apparel =( 
Lack of therapy director so nursing directors kind of take over that role

I have worked for 6 different HH agencies and this is my favorite.  Hands down, would refer this agency to my friends.  

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They hire you with lies. They say that they will pay you something but you are never in control of what you are being paid for. This company payroll and management treats their nurses as just person that they can profit from. They do not give you full case load even if you are full time. I was promised 30-50 visits a week, I ended up with 8-12; and every time I brought it up to my case manager and the office I was told that they would fix it the following week and it did not happen. I was told I would be paid for missed visits but that never happened. I was told I would get to pick my area to visit patients but that did not happen. Everything was a lie. The only good thing about this company was the rate of pay they were willing to per visit, but the office micromanages all your worlkload. If for some reason you try to tell the office you can not see a patient or the patient refuses then you get yelled at and they cut your workload.

I’m so honored to work with 21st century home health. They’re like my second family. The clinicians, office staff, and upper management all treat me with care and respect. The company is very generous and provides good pay, bonuses, and a company car. They work to protect their employees during this global pandemic by providing us with proper equipment. Out of all the companies I’ve worked with, 21st century treated me with the best care. 21st century ensures that both their patients and staff are properly treated. Their mission is to assist their patients as best as possible and I’m so happy to be working with 21st century.

Hands down the best rehab company to work for if you are hardworking and dedicated clinician. Have been with this company 3 and half years already, and don’t see myself going anywhere else. The first company I worked for that actually cares about the quality of care provided and patient’s wellbeing over financial gains. Ability to schedule my own patients allows me to be more present for my 3 kids at home.    Great support provided for collaboration with other disciplines. The first rehab company to offer on-boarding training and shadow hours. If you are independent, experienced, hardworking clinician, and want a better work/life balance, flexibility in your schedule and a great pay for your work, 21st Century Home Health Serv. Is a place for you.

This is probably the best home health agency I have ever worked for. The company's management and back end support is one of a kind. They have multiple nurses assisting you throughout your entire care management, charting, clinical guidance and 24/7 support, All the staff work very closely with one another and its really helpful for new clinicians in the field. 
The agency always promotes within and has selected really great leaders and directors to guide that staff.

I have been working for this company for almost 4 years and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon. Four years ago, the company was a lot smaller but has grown in so many ways and continues to grow. With growth comes a lot of changes, and as an employee, I still have always continued to feel supported throughout my journey with the company. I have worked for other companies in the past but this is the only one where I don't feel micromanaged, I feel supported at all times, and the workload for the pay is worth it. I'm also able to have a social life while growing in my career. They give full benefits, pretty flexible with days off, and are always there to solve any issues or problems you are having without you having to feel judged. Lots of room for growth if you are willing to put the work in. 

I have been at 21st century for 5+ years now and have always felt comfortable in allowing myself to learn and grow within this establishment. From hiring me as a new grad LVN to making my way as an RN case manager, this company has shown me an exceptional amount of support throughout the entirety of my nursing career. Although home health is never a certain exact day to day schedule, I am able to have a flexible work/life balance, often never feeling overwhelmed with my case load. The most challenging part about this job is just finding a solid routine, however once you figure it out, the tasks become much easier and manageable. I would recommend this job for anyone whether new grad/seasoned nurse that are looking to gain knowledge and growth within a company.

I felt lost multiple times on the documentation but was expected know and do them on my first day of work. I only had a brief training on a video chat and the person who trained me pretty much left me in the air when I asked questions on the job. No support whatsoever. The manager was also very rude when he communicated with me on the wrong documentations and I felt very discouraged to continue to the job, although I enjoyed the patients I was visiting, the company made me experience hard to continue. I was eventually let go during a patient visit because of a documentation error. Please do yourself a favor and save your license, do not work for this company. Your are instantly replaceable at this company, do not risk working under poor management and training. It’s not worth it. 

The best part of this job is that the management helps you with your patient coordination so you don't drive all over the bay area. They accommodate your needs based on work life balance. Very friendly and are generous with pay and schedule. The culture is friendly and personable. Any issues with patient care that comes up the back office is always the one to take care of it. I enjoy going to work knowing my team is always there with support.

Sometimes the patients you get are a little cranky or rude - but that is not something that can be controlled. When issues come up we just ask back office to step in and assist, which they always do.
