A good sales job with incredible benefits. A typical day of work is a grind in regards to prospecting and proactively finding things to do and clients to talk to. It takes practice to efficiently juggle the expectations of call activity management wants you to have along with keeping up with pending business and clients.

I learned that even the most laid back and flexible positions can still be stressful and demanding when it comes to sales. The management is good, although the burden of company goals often falls on the salespeople. Overall, AAA Life does a good job keeping their employees happy. Workplace culture is very calm and inviting. Everyone is willing to help and there are plenty of activities and incentives the company provides to make their employees happy.

Hardest part of the sales position at AAA Life is that there are goals and expectations that you need to hit or else there will be consequences on your paycheck. The agents work on 100% commission and if you don't make a certain amount, will you start negative for the next month. It can be very difficult to not know how much money you will earn from month to month with these uncontrollable factors, but typically shouldn't be an issue for good performers.

It is very rewarding to have excellent months with incredible top end pay, but also can be very stressful and worrisome with a bad month. Once you do get sales, there's a long underwriting process they go through that are out of your control resulting in getting credit for only about 50% of what you originally sell.

The most enjoyable part of this job is the flexibility and benefits. The company is very flexible with scheduling and time off in regards to the Life Agent position. I pay very little for health insurance on my wife and I on a high deductible plan and contribute to a Health Savings Account that the company also contributes to. Also includes a pension plan which is almost unheard of these days.

My time at AAA was challenging. I can say that I learned a lot and that I'm grateful for the training manager, QA manager, and escalation representatives who were there to assist me when I needed it. Manager was a terrible challenge! Minus one manager, everyone else was totally oblivious to the ongoings of the day to day. Each manager had their own agenda and attempted to inforce (too many cooks in the kitchen). This made it tedious. Out of three managers, one was totally lost in basic knowledge of the products we offered minus one. Another manager did not have people skills at all and was rude to most to include new hires. The third was good but he was always bogged down with putting out the other two managers fires. While there we had two directors - both were not fond of me. One went so far as to cmosely monitor and break up any gatherings of non-white employees to include making scenes about it. The second manager played the favorites game and the company had several issues with her. She practically threatened those who were not on her favorites list. Other departments were always rude to the Member Services Department and no one in management would step up to defend their people so there was always a lot of tension when dealing with other departments. Goals were set too high for the MS Department without the tools or resources needed to accomplish them so the whip was constantly being cracked on terribly poor plans. The VP was never around and when he was he would encourage the use of his open-door policy but when utilized he would refer back to direct managers despite the fact that employees were using the chain of command properly.

THIS IS A HIGH VOLUME INBOUND CALL CENTER....However you will not be told this during your interview! Worst decision I have ever made in accepting this position. Zero opportunity to change shift from 12:30 to 9:00. Unrealistic production expectations. Back stabbing co workers which is not only condoned by management but actually encouraged! Management style is lead by fear. You will be told where the door is should you feel so inclined to express real concerns. Night manager openly compares to New business professionals to the skill set of a pizza delivery driver and burger King workers. Extremely high turn over rate as a result. Outdated production reporting system shows incorrect numbers and counted against you. You are expected to handle complex policies of the poorest input quality from other NBP's who are not held accountable for quality while being expected to answer up to 40 calls from aggressive and at times verbally abusive life insurance agents. Disgusting, abusive, controling, emotionally corrosive work culture! I have been here 4 years only because I need the medical insurance for medical condition that I couldn't afford a gap in coverage to take another job. But I am now interviewing at Walmart and will take any position to get out of here!

Typical day, very busy a bit loud in the very large office area 50+ people.  The product was life Insurance and the training was not adequate for what was needed to know once on the phone. There was a trail period to get you use to the flow of calls.  Initially  they were more interested in the quality of the call then the quantity,  That changed once training was completed and you were on your own. 
 
They did have monthly food pot luck days for all the customer service people and celebrated Birthdays for all that had a Birthday in that month.  That way no one was left out which was nice
Management changed quite a bit during the time that I was there several times which made it difficult for people to know who to report to and how things were going to be run at that point.  
There was a complete change of address to a new building during the time I was there which was very interesting.  Once we moved to the new building, mandatory overtime started being implemented.  Which can be difficult if you are a single mom or are someone who is taking care of a elderly parent, etc...

I think the most enjoyable part of the job was the people that I worked with.  I still am in contact with quite a few of them on social media which is very nice.

AAA  used to have great management , was a great company to work for I was there 10 years the first 7 were wonderful until the top dogs pushed out most of management , replaced management , then the company went downhill from there.
If you work for member services you are the backbone of the company but they treat you as if you are nothing , don't count, they abuse  work/home life balance to the max, under old management all employees were treated with respect ,  was appreciated new management not so much esp if you are a Member Service Advocate .
As  the AAA Life  in the Omaha Nebraska area grew , took on more responsibilities from the Livonia home office the company became more profitable which is a great thing however the more profitable the company became the greedier the the top dogs became  , started a culture which was  is not the same culture as it was when I had started.
They have a very high turnover rate, they don't care because people  are expendable and has one manager said  and I do quote " Member Services , they are nothing but servants"  .
Benefits are good, great starting place to gains skills, licenses and great work friends so good starting place but not a place for  "most" to stay.

I think that this is a great company to work for. They have awesome managers and leads for guidance. However, It is not the best place for a bubbly creative, out-going person such as myself. 
   A typical day would be coming in, check my email and voicemail and wait for my lead to assign work to me while working on my other cases (about 100 to 250 per month) and updating my manager on any special request from agents or customers. 
   At AAA Life Insurance company I learned what a team is. I learned what HARD WORK is and I learned that no matter how tough things get, being in a environment with a person like myself, you WILL have to smile eventually. 
   The hard part is maintaining your case load. Key: Focus on the things that MUST be completed today, and save the rest for later.  I enjoy being my teams morale. I encourage, I motivate, I share resources (business and personal) and I make work fun yet professional and within standard.

The person who described the environment as "toxic" in their review described it best. Management and other employees set you up to fail. Managers openly favor their "friends" while mistreating others. The system that is used to track your work performance is outdated, inaccurate and flawed, negatively impacting reviews and bonuses. The managers, especially the night manager, are abusive, dishonest and incompetent. We are often openly and publicly compared to pizza delivery workers or fast food workers. I've stayed for the health insurance but the emotional distress inflicted by this place has caused me to put in my notice, nothing is worth this torture. This place is a complete nightmare. If you enjoy laughing, smiling, being polite and respectful towards others.......you will not fit in.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I had the good fortune of working with a couple of great managers as well as a number of wonderful associates (co-workers). The training was pretty good, and the support staff was good as well.  AAA Life also has a rewards program in which you can gain points used for purchasing items from a variety of stores.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Like any call center, there are times the caller/policy owner will be very upset concerning their policy and payments. This is just what is to be expected.
On the other hand, you will speak to many pleasant people as well.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I worked in the call center and it is fairly fast paced during certain times of the day.  Other departments include the sales, IT and management.  In the call center you first learn how to take payments and then learn more of the resources you'll need as you progress.

Working for a company like this one has it's ups and downs. This job is very demanding and can be very stressful. Managers care more about the numbers their employees are pulling than anything else since it does reflect them. Constantly being on the phone with members can be exhausting as well and like any other call center you can deal with some rude people. They don't allow for much time off so if you do get approved PTO take every bit of it. It's beyond hard to even make it to a doctors appointment around here. If you do get time to go to an appointment you have to make up that missed time right away. Don't forget about Saturday shifts, those are required at least once a month and it's a full day shift so say goodbye to your weekend. Overall you basically live here with very little in return with huge expectations of you.

AAA Life Insurance is a great place to work. A typical day is answering inbound calls from customers.

I have learned that working for a company, such as AAA, has been a great learning experience for me. It has been many years since I have worked at a call center and impressed with the technology.

Management is kind, thoughtful and always looks for reasons to be an incentive based organization. 

The culture is very friendly and team-oriented. 

The hardest part of the job is being on the phone constantly with little time to complete other expected tasks with such  a large call volume. Due to the high turnover, I assume.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the culture, great co-worker relations and most of all; the connection with customers. Assisting the customers in one of the most important aspects and most rewarding aspects of the position.
