The management grew rapidly for a planned expansion to get as many dots on the map as possible then sell the entire thing and get rich.  They really have no idea how cannabis testing is done and brought in knowledgable people in other industries but they are dead last in knowledge of testing.  There have been some very knowledgable folks but they don't last because they aren't tapped for that knowledge or when given the correct path, the RIGHT path and the ethical path, they blow it off because it doesn't fit into the revenue model.  The "asks" never end, the respect is absent, and the acknowledgement of good quality work is NEVER recognized.  If you don't give the management what they want (upper) then you are a trouble maker and they will find a way to move you on and do everything to not give you what you earned.  I would stay clear of them.  There are so many good labs with ethics and morals above board, ACT doesn't fall into any of those categories. Get ethical.

What a wasted opportunity. During my time working here numerous employees were fired, runoff by selective policy enforcement or left due to frustration and better work environments elsewhere. Safety issues brought to the attention of management were repeatedly left unattended for far too long. Short term thinking guides decision making, resulting in quick fixes and shoddy solutions that need to be repeatedly addressed. Temp workers get hired for one position, then pushed into other roles outside of their primary skill set due to staffing issues. There is very little training, and the institutional knowledge base doesn't exist because most people who know what needs to happen have left. Different components of the lab sometimes have their needs pitted against one another. 

Covid policies get relaxed for favored employees.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It's a very healthy work environment where everyone feels like an equal, everyone feels valued, and everyone treats their coworkers with respect

The low staffing numbers may cause difficulties when another coworker is out sick

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Healthy, respectful, although a touch small and the policies tend to reflect that from time to time, all around a well balanced environment though. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy or slow depending on the day, the busy days can be stressful, and the slow days can be very monotonous and boring. But worth it

Unreliable team and management but the clients are almost always amazing. Some employees get fired for doing something particular, while several other employees got promoted for doing the exact same thing. I also actually caught HR in a lie during my "exit interview" when they gave me their reasoning for firing me ("customer complaint") when that customer contacted me directly requesting I be the team member to assist her later that same day.  

This is hands down the best company I have ever worked for. I interview many people who come on board to work for ACT and always tell them the same thing, "This has been the best job I have ever had.  You WILL work hard but in the end it will pay off."  Our Leadership team is an open book and you can approach them with any question or problem and they will help you in any way they can.  I never want to work for another company, ever.  A strong work ethic is recommended if applying and planning to work for ACT.

My time at ACT was an enjoyable one.  I got to learn and gain practical experience with spectroscopy instruments and learn how to properly analyze chromatography.  The work load was constant and once you were there for a couple of months everything was fairly straight forward to.  My only critique was that in my branch we were overworked and underpaid for the amount of work we were being required to do. There was a high turnover rate due to upper management but they were also trying to fix that when I left. 

Overall it was a nice company to work for and the people there were brilliant! 

The work wasn’t bad, but management and HR were horrible. Major favoritism in management and HR. If you said no to things that were definitely unfair, you got punished by being targeted. If you brought attention to the unfair behavior of management then you were micromanaged. Lots of manipulation just to get ahead in the work force. Year reviews are only based off your performance and not the managers. If you weren’t a favorite, you were on a chopping block no matter how good you did. Lots of micromanaging. 

I have worked for ACT Labs for over 3 years. HR and Managment are always supportive, willing to listen, and help. ACT likes to promote from within.  My work life balance is very good with ACT.  Requesting time off has been easy.  My job duties have changed due to the company's growth.  If an employee works hard and contributes, you will be rewarded.  There are so many nice people that work here.  This is a great place to work.

I have always felt welcome and appreciated. The work can be challenging and intense but management is great at encouraging and being flexible to both the needs of the company and it’s employees at the same time. Management is good with setting goals for the team and individuals short term and long term with follow through. There is room to grow in the company while learning valuable skills and gaining new experience. I love working here.

This company is rooted in good, and once was good.    A recent growth has put individuals at the top with no real knowledge of what needs to be done.   The people making the company run are forgotten and disrespected.    The potential for good is here, as long as you shut your mouth and kiss-up.    No matter how poor the decision from above, you can't offer help or advice.   If so, you will be labeled difficult.    My direct manager was outspoken and intelligent, she was driven out for actually caring.
