I have been working in an extremely busy 36-bed Pediatric PACU unit. Like most hospitals, they are short-staffed and the pace can be hectkc. I love taking care of the children and my co-workers, but sometimes the parents can drive you nuts with their demands and questions. The best thing to do is put yourself in their place and remember they are concerned about their child's health. Our nurse manager was very involved in the day-to-day needs of the unit and she and the UBE frequently pitched in to help. Some of the charge nurses were very organized and professional, others not so much. I learned so much about dealing with autism, birth defects and the different trisomies, things I had worked with on a limited basis prior to this assignment. I stand in awe at the will to live of these little people.

Adex hired me to drive with a team from Alcatel-Lucient  to upgrade the cell towers in and around Edinboro, Pa. We would get to work at seven and sometimes sit there until 8:00 or 8:30 then be told who we were working with and what equipment we had to get for the technicians assigned task. The tech would then tell me where our assigned are was. We would go there and then set up the equipment  Sometimes we would be there only 2 hrs. then be sent somewhere else or we could be there as long as 12 or more hours. I learned that too many bosses cause confusion. Every couple weeks we would get a new team leader. Most of the people on our team were very nice people and very easy to get along with. The hardest part of the job was the waiting for the morning instructions. I really enjoyed the driving.

I've been working with ADEX for a short amount of time but since day 1, I've felt that the current employees and mangers have helped so much. Very flexible with schedules. Very open to new ideas and constructive criticism. Many work outings. Fun work environment. Yeah making calls all day isn't exactly the most ideal job, but you're helping people, you're constantly learning, every day is a something new, and you really make great connections with the people you work with.

The day would depend on the type of patient that you have. 
If your patient was more acute, you would be more busy trying to stabilize the patient in addition to getting tests and procedures done for this patient.  I learned how to care for patients with various medical ailments.  The workplace was very diverse, which I enjoyed.  The hardest part of the job was sometimes getting people to respond in a timely fashion when a patient's condition was getting worse.

In 30 day period of availability to work, I had 8 total days worked, I was assigned to work at a facility over 50 miles from my home, I was notified of the assignment about 60 minutes before the start time (80 minute drive). Upon arrival, the supervisor at facility said assignment had been canceled. I called ADEX, they said, sorry. I asked if there was any compensation. NOOOOOO.

It's a staffing company, my interaction with the company was very limited

Poor management, laid back job structure because boss never works, very stressful having nurses but no where to place them=no commission. No advancement and not a fun place to work.  Boss lied from the beginning and was rude. He rarely came to work or was always a couple hours late.  Left for better pay, benefits, company, work environment for a lot more money.

They’re so professional. It was a blessing to have worked with them.

Nothing I can think of. They always listened to the employees.

ADEX overall is a great place to work at because it gives you an opportunity to help others. There isn't a strong place for growth and upward mobility. On a typical day I'd screen, interview and assess qualified candidates for open jobs available. The hardest part sometimes is having a nurse ready to work but no job to place them at. I learned how to build and maintain strong relationships.
