I had high hopes starting this job. It was quickly dashed as the unprofessional atmosphere came to light. You'll be expected to wear many hats and do lots of extra things that aren't in the job description. 

We filled potholes
Cut down trees 
Cut conduit
Pressure washed the parking lot 
Laid sod 
Fixed siding, drywall etc 
Traffic control with less than adequate signs/cones 
Quality controlled other departments work 
Helped splice 

Look I don't have a problem doing things to stay busy. But when I am doing everything but what I was hired to do. It's pretty frustrating. Then when we had nothing to do all we would hear about is how we need to stay busy, even when there wasn't anything for us to do. 

Communication was non-existent
Accountability never happened
Job standards were absent 
Favoritism is rampant 
Toxicity is at an all time high 


I can't say I was happy here, because my time was rampant with frustrations that I brought up to my supervisor that went unchanged. The one good perk of having a company truck was more annoying than anything. Yeah it was kinda nice, but if you needed to do anything ie stop at the grocery store or go to the doctor it made it impossible. They weren't consistent about any of the rules either, everyone was abusing them on different teams, but it was fine because they weren't a part of "our team" 

To management

For the love of all that is holy get it together. And I mean company wide. You can't have different rules for different "sections/departments" of the company. The company truck isn't that big of a perk and it honestly was more of an annoyance, because I couldn't even stop and grab dinner for us on the way home. Stop playing favorites and hold your team accountable. Stop talking bad about other techs, it's highly unprofessional. And stop constantly nagging us when there isn't anything to do. It's not our fault we have no work, so stop pretending or giving us pointless busy work. And actually assign us to the job we were hired to do. Stop overlooking your techs that actually want to be there and are actively seeking a career. I saw many highly talented and knowledgeable techs burn out because of the way you treated us.

So, after initially being hired on at Allo everything was wonderful, right up until the point where they straight up lied through their teeth during this huge employee get together. Everyone was promised a huge cost of living increase, instead we got arguably the worst quarterly bonus scheme I’ve ever seen.

They claim that we’re one big happy family, however the drama, pettiness, unprofessional attitudes, the stereotypical “good job, here’s some pizza”, absolutely obscene language, and rumor filled work environment is disgusting. Senior management is so disconnected with the needs of the market that it’s embarrassing. I have worked in some toxic environments in the past, but this place is miserable. Absolutely nothing is done about any of this because, per management, if it gets reported to HR “that’s how people lose their jobs” 

If you’re entry level, no experience, the pay isn’t terrible, but if you have experience good luck getting even a vaguely decent wage. Someone with 8 years of experience gets the same pay as someone with 8 days, and multiple employees have been screamed at for asking about potential raises. The only real perks are that their health insurance (for the individual) is rock solid and the company vehicles are all very nice and well maintained. 



After 8 years I have learned a lot about the industry and I once recommended Allo as an employer,  now I do not.  They have thrown the "Core Values" out the window to make sure the mighty dollar keeps flowing. Employees are paid lower than national average, hours have been cut, and multiple benefits have been taken away. Promotions are no longer based on qualifications or skill.  Directors/Manager select their close buds for supervisor/lead positions over others who actually have knowledge and experience or they hire externally.  Management has horrible communication skills and will take credit for work/ideas of others.  This company needs to slow down and focus on its employees before it completely loses sight of everything it used to be.  Put deserving people in postions to succeed, communicate better, SLOW DOWN and focus on your employees. The burn out is real and I have seen too many excellent people walk away....

What is the best part of working at the company?
Upper management genuinely cares about teammates, does their best to work through tough situations when they arise. Received adequate training for the position even though I came in with no experience

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Currently assisting other departments, working with procedures we didn't receive any training on. Communication from the highest levels of management/ownership leaves something to be desired

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is heavily implied here but is taking a back seat currently for the business team in particular while they assist with residential calls

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in, check emails, go over work queue, log in to call taking software, take calls most of the day, working service orders and trouble tickets between calls as possible

This is the best company that I have ever worked for. From ALLO's core values to its office culture, this company really cares about its employees. For the first time in my career, I have a manager that genuinely wants to help us grow and succeed, supporting each of us in the various different ways that work best for the individual. Plus, they offer really great benefits that meet all of my needs. I mean I even get free healthcare! When it comes to the actual work that I do, I feel confident in my abilities because I was provided adequate training when I first started. And training continued until I felt fully comfortable completing the required tasks of my position on my own. Really, the only downside to this job is the slow performance of the programs that we use for scheduling, work orders, customer contact tracking, ect.

Working as a CSR wasn't terrible, but if you're neurodivergent or even just have a life outside of work, don't expect this to work out. There were rotating weekend on call shifts. They sent out a mass text for it. Oh, you're an night shift worker and will be asleep when we text you telling you you need to be here for on call at 7am? Too bad, you're now in trouble for not showing up. Oh, you have a condition that requires you to need to use the restroom often? Well, your breaks are scheduled when they are and if you go outside of that your metrics will reflect. How about you plan your sudden diarrhea a bit better, work on your time management!

Love them for service. Would probably never work there again UNLESS I could do anything but CSR work. That department is a joke.

Team work ! Great co workers and the company core values!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Customers wanting services NOW not understanding the process we must go through before being able to deliver. It’s stressful because we try to find ways to say yes this sometimes means going outside the standard process. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Relaxed and inclusive. Everyone plays a vital role in their team.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in , be available for calls , check emails, keep up with my orders in terms of scheduling, requesting FOC. , working with field techs to determine if we are ready to schedule and support onsite techs doing installs among other duties.

If you have a desire to move up in the company and are blue collar / working class type folk, then start in OSP, drop crew, or aerial. They will have the highest chance for upward mobility, if you have a positive attitude, are a go getter, and don't spread rumors about people, you will move up no problem within 6 months. 

Other departments you will have serious trouble in. Structured cable seems to have poor budget from the company (business and residential) other crews will often have budgets left over for team building exercises or going out to eat once a month (pay would be better, but I won't complain about incentives). Those guys seemed miserable when I was there.

The people were great! ALLO truly lives out its values and cares about the customers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Changing priorities without adequate information about the changes. Things happened all of a sudden.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
For the most part it was great!  Really enjoyed the people that I worked with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Each day we had work that impacted the whole organization which was an awesome feeling.  We were able to make a difference through coaching, training and development that helped with employee productivity and growth.

Enjoy(ed) the work. Slowly getting more and more burned out. They try to prevent it, but there are never enough employees, even as they hire more. Work is repetitive and can be draining. Very slim chances for upward mobility. Opportunities come but only 2/40 people are chosen for the positions they have open. Culture's nonexistent. In-office employees seem to be able to do things, but any field workers are excluded from these things, never given time to really participate, not that there's many events to choose from. If there are opportunities less field-workers come because they (we) tend to be drained from working all day. 

Pay is hard to beat with the experience and relative ease of the work.
