What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is very good. RN’s get $500 extra a month for perfect attendance. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Rehab unit has a front and a back and can hold up to 30 pts. That is for one nurse. That is meds, txs, and vitals. That is for one CNA. Unit manager is good. Admissions can be up to three or four in the evening. They want that admission completed.  Upper management is terrible. Power hungry . They give write ups on hear say with no investigation. Way too much stress there. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very stressful with long hallways on Rehab. One nurse and one CNA. 3 to 4 admission on evening shift.  Power hungry Upper management. Clicks. Not suggested for long term. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get on the cart by 3pm. Get vitals machine, gather wound supplies,  supplements,  blood sugar machine. Do as much as you can at one time with each patient and finish around 9:30p. Hopefully you can take a lunch break. If admissions come you out the medication orders in as soon as possible and hope and pray another nurse will help you.

The unit manager has an Ego problem. She will not even give you a chance to prove yourself, if she does not like you , you will not be able to redeem yourself. You will always be a target . She fires competent staff and turns a blind eye to her minions or faves. The pay is higher than most nursing homes coming in with minimal experience. The only pro is that they offer the CNA training to become certified. Management , particularly this tyrant makes you uneasy. Because you are working in a stressful environment facing write ups for something you may have not even done. 

Rigid schedules and poor work/life balance...you will feel like you live there and not in a good way.  Not flexible including the mandatory rotational weekends and they will not work with your hours to help you succeed. Rather they will just replace you and give newcomers their first choice. Key word first choice so pick wisely because you are now stuck. Absolutely no team work and staff will constantly berate, belittle and downright bully you (they will not discipline the known instigators). You are on your own, good luck!

Nothing.   The pay is decent but management is terrible.  Jo room for growth and staff turnover and the workload is awful

The workload and management    Constant turnover as well.

Horrible.   The culture is just punitive.   No rewards for good, hard work

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, busy.   More and more work is expected every day.

Working as a dietary aide is a good start to step into healthcare as a high school student. I have learned a lot about dietary needs according to health and illnesses and have prepared meals in accordance to the residents specific nutritional needs. My job entails of cleaning up after finished meals, setting up and taking down dinning rooms, maintaining and cleaning kitchen, preparing and serving food and snacks, and taking inventory of supplies. Truly an outstanding workplace for growth and beginning workforce.

Its better than most facilities in the surrounding area. However there’s lack of appreciation from management & constantly more work being added. Some of the managers are great & helpful while others micromanage & lack the ability to help. The pay is lower compared to market rates & doesnt come with yearly raises, which is crazy in this economy. Its way better ran than most facilities with protocols in place. Rehab unit gets a lot of admissions sometimes without report being called in first & some coming at the same time. 

hot mess. staffing is nonexistent. management can care less. residents are neglected and not properly cared for due to improper staffing among STNAs and nurses alike. unsafe environment with patient to STNA/nurse ratio. and call offs will dock your pay $5/hr for 2 weeks pay meaning you’ll miss hundreds from your paycheck and even the death of a family member isn’t considered a legitimate excuse not to have pay docked. this place is a joke. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The facility is beautiful, and the staff is so caring and loving to the Residents. This is a great place to work and a wonderful home for our Residents.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is excellent, and the culture goes back many years when it first started the concept of caring for others.

I wish I could have stayed there but it’s just to far from my house and they were organized they were friendly and focus and very hard working they need help a lot of help some of the folks that was there were not up for there job and they didn’t like me being so nice to the people but I was because that what I like to do take care of elderly people and I don’t no another way to be but nice and respectful and caring to all people that just who I am

I enjoy working at Altenheim, but I feel that they could make some improvements. The hardest part of my job is dealing with the lack of policy enforcement and accountability in the other departments. The most enjoyable part of my job is those of us in the IT department get along incredibly well.
