This company takes on way to many clients and cannot handle the overwhelming AR that is received because they keep buying contracts but don't have enough workers to keep up.  Working in customer service your minimum goal is 107+ calls enough. And the new director wants to change it to 125+  calls. Lets be realistic. On the busiest monday only 5 customer service agents made the 107 goal. That's only 34% of the department are able to make goal but they want to raise the goal? They are only setting you up for failure. What you do is not enough. They you to rush patients off the phone and just get to the next call without really worrying about what is actually occuring in an account. Half the times we cant even tell you why you owe a balance or what you had done because they wont buy more logins. Also a lot of times we will bill you the contracted insurance discount amount.  Your director will sit in his little office and watch you and every time you go to the bathroom he's watching and counting the seconds.  You feel like its a complete violation of privacy. Quantity over quality here. They will refuse to call insurance and tell patients that we are not able to and Instead of just calling to resolve your account. We will send your account to a whole different department. We can put it on a 45 day hold but usually that's still not enough because they are so far behind so you end up getting another bill sent to the patient after holding for 45 days... the patient will eventually call angry  because they thought you were working on it. So you put it on another 45 day hold. Usually by that time the insurance department will do their part and send out an appeal or corrected claim. By this time it's about just the end of the second hold date exceeding the 45 day mark.. well when we are refilling a corrected claim or appeal they fail at restarting the bill cycle or a new hold of 45 days therefore the patient gets a final statement threatening collections.  The sad thing is we send patients daily to collections In our error. Then refuse to bring it out of collections and tell it's illegal when they still have the capability they just were making to many mistakes facing to remove accounts. Also when their is a system issue and you present it to your management instead of fixing they become defensive if how it's not the system it's you. there's only one good manager there and she's unfortunately not even paid enough for how much she does for them.  Once again her hard work and dedication will go unnoticed.

As a pathology coder they expect you to work 112 reports an hour and maintain a 95% accuracy. Coders are going so fast due to mandated production requirements that they are making careless mistakes that we then have to go back and fix in edits, making it twice the work. Multiple coders feel pressured by their productivity requirements and like the company expects us to be robots because their expectations are unrealistic. APS states they always promote from within, yet I've been here over 3 years and I'm still doing the same job as I was hired for. I've received no further training nor promotion. They only promote the people who excel at their standards which most people dont. Communication within the coding department is very poor. The coders do not speak to one another and there is no commardary amongst them; every coder for themselves. Management rarely passes along information and when they do its always very last minute. There is no transparency although they say they are. Training needs serious updating as well. Most of the training modules have inaccurate information or don't cover the information needed. The systems within the company need to be updated too because they still use a DOS system. Ive received a total of a 1 dollar raise in the 3 years I've been here, again all based off the productivity standards. My accuracy has been 100% my last 9 audits and yet I still dont get raises because my numbers aren't high enough. This company would rather quantity over quality. While being a diagnosis coder only is not technically hard it is very boring as there is no challenge and it leaves us feeling unfulfilled. That said it still causes immense stress due to the sheer amount required to do. 

Family owned and manager is married into the family. If you have a complaint there’s nobody to go to because upper management is all protected. The micromanaging and spying on employees not only makes for a stressful environment but also an uncomfortable one. It’s hard to relax and focus on your work when you have them hounding you constantly. It doesn’t matter how much you do because it’s never enough. If you excel and get promoted it’s even worse and you’ll wish you had stayed where you were. You will get so many more things dropped on you until you feel like you have no breathing room. The amount of tasks and timelines are unreasonable. They are always short staffed which means that you never get caught up. Coders are expected to do work that most other companies have other departments do. I miss working for a company where I was allowed to code and just be good at it. You will earn time off, but you will be made to feel guilty if you use it. It doesn’t feel like you’re supported by management at all. There’s employees that perform way below what is expected, but they are allowed to. Which makes those of us who work hard feel angry. The problem is with management. They don’t have compassion or make you feel like a person. They make you feel like a machine that is expected to run nonstop and before you finish one task they are giving you a list of more to do. They don’t help you. They give you work that makes you feel like they are just dumping stuff from their list onto yours. Every day is stressful and you can’t wait to be done for the day. 

APS allows the opportunity for employees to advance and take on new positions within the company.  They helped provide  me with the skills and knowledge to do my current position.   They are family oriented so this is great for working moms.

With the ability to move up and between departments you were always learning something new, and I enjoyed meeting and working with people there.  I started out in the customer service department taking calls from patients and verifying all demographics were correct, insurance denials/requests and filing of secondary claims.  I then moved into the Insurance Claims department where I followed up with carriers on unpaid claims, claims that were processed incorretly and filed appeals.  After a short time I also worked all collection accounts, this is where accounts were reviewed 1 final time before moving to an outside agency for collections.  Here I would review the claim to see if all demographics were correct, if the carrier was needing additional information etc before placing the account to collections.  I then moved into the position of Client Account Representative where I worked one on one with the clients, and multiple departments daily to ensure the claims that were coming in were going out timely and without errors as well as monitored the client cash flow.





I worked for them from 2007 - 2008. Worst job I've ever had. You can't get up and go to the bathroom or get a drink without the managers watching your every move. You weren't allowed personal phones calls, even if it was a return call from your doctor. This is a religious family owned business who caters to their family more than their employees (ex: sons, daughter-in-laws, wives, husbands all work there). 

Training? What training? I was told to sit at a desk, given a five minute "orientation" and told to start working. There was no training and thank God I came from a medical billing background. 

You sat in a cubical and weren't allowed to talk to others. They want numbers not quality. Even the medical offices that you were doing the billing for didn't like this company. Why stay with them?

The winter that I worked there, we had a bad snow storm and were at a Level 3. The HR woman complained and said that SHE made it to work, well then we should show up too. I lived off Conant and I watched people getting pulled over that morning for driving in a Level 3. 

I was given a $1 raise at my yearly review and then fired the next day. This happened to another person in my department as well. From what I was told, this is a regular thing. 

If you work under 37.5 hours for two weeks in a row, you lose your medical benefits. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THIS WHEN YOU GET HIRED. 

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!! I seriously don't know how they stay in business.

Please, I beg of you if you’re thinking about joking this company, DON’T. 

Firstly, they don’t have any call center customer representatives, so the calls are none stop and you are NOT allowed a restroom break at ANY time. You have to take it on your lunch break or you will be reported/written up

Secondly, they have no CSR workers because of the horrible management. They treat you like you’re just another number and expect you to be perfect, there is no room for growth at this company and you WILL  be micromanaged by ALL supervisors. That’s right you’re assigned to  one supervisor but in total it’s 5 supervisors all together who will be micromanaging you as well. 


It’s a few good people here, which had me excited to start at the company, such as the trainer and the hiring manager are wonderful people however, two people can’t make up such a terrible company who allows management to literally taunt and disrespect their workers. 


There is a reason why they have a 2 star rating and an EXTREMELY high turnover rate. I warned you. STAY AWAY for your own sanity. Worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life!

This company is a complete joke. All the managers & supervisors are either the CEO’s family or family friends. If you have an issue or problem with upper staff it will be ignored because of this. If you want your whole day/week to be micromanaged this is the place for you. Your yearly review is never on time, it’s usually months behind & they will only back pay it maybe a few weeks If you even did get a raise. Paid poorly for what they expect of you to do. They take on way too many clients & expect each employee to juggle 5-10+ clients at once. A/R is through the roof for most clients because of this & some clients may only get worked 1-5 days out the month. Hard work does not get noticed here. The Turnover rate is VERY high to the point new people are coming & going weekly. This company In any department really is severely understaffed. If you’re interested in the medical billing position, be ready to be a customer service representative (Take patient phone calls) 2 days a week every week as well on top of your Already heavy client workload. Any employee will tell you they are not happy here & have been looking for another job. Please just don’t even apply. 

Be prepared for poor training and lack of
Support from Management and trainer. They have constant turn around because they are not Organized, train poorly, and expectations are not balanced with the hours to work. They make mistakes but overlook and cover for themselves and each other. The duties of the position changed weekly. The client load was more than any other credentialer handled in the past due to the dept turnover and inexperienced manager.They did not give a formal
Review with a raise. When asked how I was doing, the comment was you are doing fine. You will know when we aren’t happy with you. This is NOT professional or honest. Turnover happened in our dept. we went from 8 credentialers down to 3. Communication with management began to be nonexistent. As a remote employee communication was key. Silence and ignoring does not help a department! I wish the money invested for the hotel and meals while in training would’ve been invested in a great helpful communicative manager.

If you are considering leaving a job you like for this one, do not do it. This job is good only for a temporary fix until you find ditching better. I left my job and regretted it, thank god they took me back with open arms! They quota is crazy, which 100 percent affects quality. You have to easy claim fixed to meet it. If you were to actually investigate each claim and work it correctly you would never meet your quota. They force you to work in an awful call center. Several hours a week. The good time is so long and customers are mostly mad because they don’t understand why they are being billed by a pathologist they do not know the name of and we’re in hold or sent to collections because of. The only pro was working from home and I learned a lot to make me a better biller/coder. 

The company has installed many surveillances inside the company, in every corner and every where, even if in the employee's break/lunch room, they installed big surveillance over the kitchen sink top, no privacy at all, you were watched over your head when you were washing your dishes or fruits.
Every employee was not permitted to make personal phone calls during working hours, even if you have to return the missed call from your doctor or your tax return pro. The employee has to ask a few minutes leave from the manager before walking outside to make such medical/tax return related phone calls.
Every employee MUST work between 37.5 hours to 40 hours per week. The employee will be fired if he/she works less than 37.5 hours per week for consecutively two weeks. Every employee has to punch the time card 4 times daily and the OT MUST NOT access 5 minuts or you will be dis
