typical work day: get to work by 8, see 30+ patients (goal) but schedule is a free-for-all in truth if you ask admin, work (in-clinic) culture is dismal because everyone in clinic is under-paid. See patients until 4:45pm with only two 15 min "charting slots" (not enough time at work to catch up aka NO ADMIN TIME), lunch break only sometimes depending on your full or part time status.

Benefits are great, hours are decent. Clinic workers are considered & treated as 'worker bees' and rarely/never given REAL opportunities to give input r/t improvements in workflow (admin pretend to listen but results never come). Some managers/supervisors (upper admin) are not sympathetic to a working parent's work/life balance or logistical issues. Nurses are led by nurses, but providers (MD/DO/PA/APRNs) are led by non-healthcare experienced admin & that shows in their inability to retain providers. They think mid-level providers are a 'dime-a-dozen' and have no care for employee retention. Mid-level providers often left in clinic alone with no actual collaboration with their supervising physician. Most often NONE, not even for new grads. Nepotism runs rampant from corporate level down to on-site level. Pay/compensation depends on if you personally know someone in upper mgmt and if you are in their inner circle of friends. Coveted positions are not given to those that deserve them (seniority, experience, education, talent), but are given to friends of admin. If your contract says a certain percentage of travel expect at least 25% more than that, realistically. Mileage compensation is dismal when compared to inflation rates. Compensation for CME is dismal when compared to inflation rates (recently decreased when costs are rising).

I take pride in working for a company where all the way from the highest level to the front door and out into our communities people are putting patients first . I say to anyone looking for a stable job arcare is the place to grow . No company is perfect however keep in mind you  can control the environment you work in by approaching every situation with a positive attitude,open channels of communication with coworkers and management, and remember why you started working in health care in the first place, we are all here for the patients and joy it brings to know you can be the light ,on someone's darkest day!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Retirement plan, dental, and vision. Health insurance was OK as long as you are treated at one of the clinics. If you need specialty or outside studies, the deductible was very high.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Scheduling, other clinics and secretaries all add people to the schedule. This tends to cause over booking and limits the quality of care and time your able to spend with patients.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As long as management or inspectors aren't in the clinic, the environment is smooth and easy going. When management is there your micromanaged, belittled, and if certain management thinks your attractive made uncomfortable to be in the same room.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Schedule usually starts off with 10 to 20 patients but ends up with over 40. Usually no lunch, charting at home instead of being able to spend time with family.

I loved working with clients. Office environment was so toxic it made me throw up most mornings. The hardest part of the job was constant micromanagement, inconsistent policies and dealing with a boss who didn’t know my clients but undermined decisions I made based on client preferences. I also had to make constant excuses for my coworkers because clients repeatedly went without food/money, got late fees/eviction notices and had utilities turned off because company didn’t pay bills. There is no accountability when clients go without. What I learned from this job is that people can work in social services for years without caring about the clients they serve. 

This company has some promising ideas and I believe at one point genuinely cared about it’s employees and patients. As time has gone on, the focus has shifted to expanding and opening as many new clinics as possible without proper staffing. Staff is stretched so thin and the world is expected of them. While the company is not fast to write anyone up or fire them, they constantly stay on top of you with unrealistic standards. Additionally, while they have a great benefits package, the pay is extremely subpar and unfortunately benefits packages do not pay the bills. Finally, the turnover rate is astronomical due to stagnant wages and raises along with the unrealistic expectations. Why work yourself ragged for $10-11 per hour when you can have less stress and make more elsewhere?

Working at ARcare was an overall great experience. They provide valuable services to under served communities and each day I believed in the work I was doing for patients. 

I believe ARcare's biggest challenge is developing valuable mid level managers. It seemed the upper-level leadership was very competent. However, the drop off to clinic/regional level leadership was significant. In my role I watched countless opportunities for improvement swept aside due to an apathetic attitude surrounding improvement. 

Given how important their mission is in the area, I hope they focus on developing that middle tier employee. 

The management is extremely poor. The VPs specifically and the DON. Neither have ANY clue what's going on within regions and are so out of touch with patient care. I don't think the VP even has any medical background. If they don't like you because you don't align with their personal views they treat you poorly. Some employees were even threatened at one point by the VP. There's clearly favorites and they show it. The lazy ones get paid more to do nothing and nothing is done about it. The ones who work pick up their slack and get treated horribly. If you try to talk to them about it you either get the run around or they basically call you a liar.  

A bunch of older (not elderly) women whom think theyre still in High school. If they'd do their job, people could truly grow there. Just need to knock out all the management, start over.. then maybe it would be fine to work at ARCare. I truly loved the job, but not the people. It's a clique. If you don't fit in, you will be treated poorly and completely out of any loop. They will be aggravated to train you. Making up rules as they go just to get you in trouble if they don't like you. I'm quitting. This is the most immature place I've ever been employed at. I will be contacting corporate. Pitiful. 

I really loved my job and what I did but the supervision was poor. I felt like they did not care or appreciate most of the employees. They are always wanting to expand the company rather than take time to help and take care of their current employees and clinics. They just care about numbers in my opinion. I worked in a cruddy portable building that had problems all the time. They would send people in to work on some of the issues but that didn't change the fact that it was a portable building like the buildings construction companies use as job trailers. They won't put the clinic in a permanent building because they "don't have the numbers." Instead, they try to open more and more clinics to expand their company.

Utilize it from the standpoint of you'll be using it for titles and training for an eventual better position at another employer and you'll be alright. 

You may be overworked and asked to do things far and away from your duties if you allow it to happen, like home IT work/troubleshooting on personal equipment as well as being asked to give preferential treatment to individuals over maintaining core operations.

Be wary of what you're asked to do from a compliance perspective (especially in healthcare IT) from management, get proper training where you can, and always be looking for something elsewhere, and you can end up with a positive use off your time here.
