Good place to work for those getting their start in the mental health field. Family clients can be fun to work for. Hours are hard to come by for part-time workers. Some activities can also be repetitive. Lack of variation can lead to stagnation and boredom, and can sometimes be seen in the clients' behavior.

Company management from top to bottom can improve communication. There is a disconnect between the family clients, behavior technicians, and supervisors on what qualities between the line therapist and client can be improved upon. Lack of sufficient employee training, especially regarding disability accommodations and mental health resources for employees, plays a significant part in this and is detrimental to company growth. The turnover rate is high because burnout in this field is pervasive. The company can do better to help employees who also have mental health struggles instead of miscommunicating with them on 2-week 'grace periods' for work improvement, yet letting them go the day after with no warning.

Overall, ABLE is an alright family-owned business that can do better in being more present for its employees, particularly the line therapists, instead of being a distant face of the company.

 Most of your training, if not all, comes from learning portals and hands on experience. The supervisors I worked with were great people, but you don't work with them all the time. Most of the time you are by yourself with the client and their family. You can decide whether to take certain cases depending on your schedule so very flexible. If you want to get promoted or move up, they have a career ladder/path that tells you what you need to do. I would have preferred if they had let me work with coworkers at first just to observe and learn what is expected of me, instead, I was alone for the first several days, so I had to figure out how to do a lot of things on my own. You can always email or call your supervising clinical therapist and they were always helpful. I never had a problem working with any of them and they were so knowledgeable you learn so much from them when you can. Just to note, you will not get paid if appointments are cancelled by client and sometimes it would be cancelled when I got there. Some families were nice enough to call you in advance, others will not.  It can be very stressful at times, and you really have to be prepared for anything. I learned very quickly this wasn't the job for me, but if you are really passionate about being a behavior technician and this is the career path you want to take, this job was definitely a good learning experience.

Shifts can vary from 2-6 hours depending on client availability. Very flexible! You learn a lot about different families, cultures and their children based on sessions. If you are great and have a passionate heart to work with kids, and looking to get started this company is a good start.

If you do not have a BCBA who is present and solely isn’t working just to make money you and your client will backtrack and it will fall on you no matter who is in the wrong! 
ABLE needs to be on top of their BCBAs just like they are on top of their therapist / behavior technicians. 


Worked with clients that was diagnosed with Autism; provided clients with direct care inside of their home, direct care while outside in the community; cooked for clients, bathed them, gave medication and provided direct care, sometimes overnight, when parents were away for extended amount of time; completed paper work and worked as a team player in regard to securing the mental, physical and emotional well-being of the clients; interacting with clients' parents on a consistent basis and sometimes transported clients' to grand parents' home for dinner purposes so that I could still provide on hand service to clients. Clients' parents were very supportive of their children and then allowed me to provide them with the best care or service possible and they always informed employer that I was doing a excellent service.

I absolutely love the family I work with incredible fit everyone I’ve had to communicate with employee wise have all been amazing very helpful and understanding with any questions that may arise very flexible and accommodating so far I love it

I haven’t had anything happen yet that has caused me stress I’m still fairly new so that is what I’m basing it off of

We are sent into our individual’s home so everyone has vastly different experiences

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing to about Able Home Health is stressful.  Doing Home Health in the field has it's challenges. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very small company , all very friendly group. Most people have stayed on for a long time. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I am a field clinician. Working with mostly seniors in the home to restore and keep safe. This work has challenges.  I love Able Home Health because all the nurses have respect for the therapist clinical judgement.

First few years that I worked here, it was great. I had a supportive supervisor and loved my job. They promised a lot of things over the years, including advancement opportunities. Yet, when the time came, they condensed roles and added responsibilities to workers instead of promoting within. When my supervisor finally quit, the out of state person that took on his responsibilities was terrible at management. I then found out they were being very secretive and lying about pay equality. 

When I worked here the job was OK I love the clients. I worked with especially one little girl. The reason I quit is because the parents at all the power and when I say  all the power I mean they were able to cancel appointment within five minutes of the appointment being started. I’ve missed out on three separate days of pay because my sessions were canceled last minute from the parents. It’s an OK company to work for I worked here two years ago so I don’t know how it is now.

Unprofessional supervisor never could get a hold of anyone on the phone or email when threaten to quit I was given fall dreams and hope and other opportunities which never happened was censoring supervisor for 3 weeks straight only to find out they didn’t want to reassign me not enough pay and not enough hours or clients

I love to help with older folks

Nothing everything I love the company and would love to work again for it

Very fruitful and bright and a established very caring company

Very blessed and heart felted and just being able to help
