Pros
	•	The company’s mission of helping patients with home health equipment is meaningful. As someone who genuinely loves working in healthcare, that mission really mattered to me.

Cons
	•	I came into this role genuinely excited and hopeful, but my experience was deeply disappointing given how enthusiastic I was to join. What I expected to be a growth opportunity became, instead, an example of how damaging poor leadership can be.
	•	After an org change, my leadership experience became extremely negative. I was the only person reporting to my manager, which felt isolating and made it hard to get peer support. It also felt odd that I was the only person she was managing.
	•	My manager had only been my manager for about three weeks before placing me on a performance improvement plan. I had been in the role for only about two months overall. I was then terminated before the PIP period was even completed. It felt less like support and more like a fast track out.
	•	PIPs here felt like a set-up to be fired, not a tool for development. In my experience, the process came across as a formality to justify termination, not a genuine attempt to help me succeed.
	•	Asking clarifying questions or seeking guidance was often labeled as “hand holding” instead of being treated as normal ramp-up in a complex new role. Over time, this started to feel less like coaching and more like a form of bullying.
	•	The level of micromanaging was extreme for a leadership-level, salaried role. My time was tracked down to the hour, which made me feel monitored rather than trusted. I did not feel trusted to do my job and constantly felt like I was doing something wrong.
	•	At times, it felt as though my manager was setting me up to fail rather than helping me succeed. The overall tone was very cold and unsupportive. I often felt belittled, inadequate, and anxious, despite having years of experience that have been valued everywhere else I’ve worked.
	•	For a remote role, there was not enough structured support, documentation, or regular, constructive check-ins to set clear expectations and help me succeed.
	•	Overall, this was an unforgettable experience, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons, and stands out as the worst leadership experience I’ve had in my career. I would not recommend this department or reporting structure to anyone looking for healthy, supportive leadership.

Advice to Management
Management can make or break an employee’s experience. In my case, it broke it. Do better. Be very careful about how quickly new hires are moved to PIPs, especially when a manager has only had them for a short time and the role is complex. If you are going to use a PIP, let the full period be used for real coaching, clear expectations, and support, not just as a step toward termination. Create a culture where questions are welcomed instead of being dismissed as “hand holding,” and where leaders in salaried roles are trusted to manage their time and work without excessive micromanagement. Ensure managers are developing their people with empathy and warmth, not coldness, so employees leave feeling supported and developed rather than anxious, belittled, and defeated. The organization has a lot of growing to do in how it treats and supports its people; especially those who come in passionate about healthcare and excited to contribute to the mission.

A typical day at ADAPT Health is often chaotic and exhausting. Employees are expected to juggle numerous tasks simultaneously, with minimal support. The workload is heavy, and there’s constant pressure to meet unrealistic deadlines. Staff are often required to work through their lunch breaks and stay late without compensation.

**What You Believe You Learned:**
Working at ADAPT Health teaches resilience and how to function under extreme stress.It also highlights the importance of self-advocacy in a workplace that lacks proper employee support. Unfortunately, the experience is more about survival than professional growth, as opportunities for meaningful learning and development are limited.

**Management:**
Management at ADAPT Health is often unresponsive and unsupportive. They prioritize profits over employee welfare, and there is a clear disconnect between management and staff. Requests for assistance or feedback are frequently ignored, and there is little to no recognition for hard work and dedication.

**Workplace Culture:**
The workplace culture at ADAPT Health is toxic and demoralizing. Employees are overworked and undervalued, leading to high levels of stress and burnout. There is a lack of camaraderie, as everyone is too overwhelmed with their own tasks on top of that as a respiratory therapist, I can only do certain tasks that other people couldn’t do at the same time. I didn’t have time to help as much as I could have or wanted to because the boss that I had deemed it unnecessary to build a team friendship workplace positivity and the overall chaos Was just a lot to offer support to their colleagues. The overall atmosphere is one of frustration and dissatisfaction.

**The Hardest Part of the Job:**
The hardest part of the job is dealing with the constant pressure and lack of support. The company does not provide adequate resources to handle the workload, leading to frequent mistakes and unhappy patients. The expectation to work long hours without proper overtime and on call pay .

**The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job:**
The most enjoyable part of the job is leaving at the end of the day. Despite the challenges, the relief of finishing a grueling shift provides a small sense of satisfaction. Any positive interactions with patients are overshadowed by the overwhelming negative aspects of the job.

I have been working for this company for a few months now and my impression leaves a lot to be desired. Poor training, bad attitudes, lazy managers and mean spirited gossip from everyone you encounter. I have heard all levels of managers badmouthing patients and drivers alike, dispatchers, anyone that they know is fair game to be called obscene names. Very immature and the managers when not badmouthing people or playing favorites with the brown nosers can't be found when they are needed for even the simplest of issues.

These people are not at all organized and as a driver you are given the wrong information constantly and are often sent out with equipment you have received probably two minutes worth of training for and have to struggle to remember and explain it to poor unsuspecting patients. The warehouse people do not want to prepare orders for the drivers either. Unless you are a partner in crime with them, you are on your own and it is a very clique friendly environment. 

Management is often hostile over minor issues and are very two faced and undependable. Their actions defy logic at every turn and make no sense. While you do deliveries, dispatch sends as many more as they can regardless of your shift end time or the logistics of it. You might be 75 miles from the nearest equipment needed for some random delivery, with barely enough time to make it back in time (and you will surely be stuck driving through your lunch break half the time) and all of a sudden four orders come in and the staffing is so bad and the operations so scattered and absurd that a manager might ring you just to explain how 'we all have to work together and if you could just take care of these last few orders it would be really appreciated because the on call driver is swamped in (insert some faraway location)." 

The management veers from sweet talking you to intimidating you with warnings about dispatchers monitoring route sheets and on and on. Endless pressure to hurry back and clean equipment. They love to watch the route sheets and throw temper tantrums if a delivery takes time, but I also notice they have no problem if your route sheets includes no breaks. I get about half my breaks, otherwise they complain about overtime and nitpick as to why things take time, meanwhile they do everything in their power to set you up for failure. 

The equipment is sometimes clean, but how often does it work? What a terrible place to work. Be careful who you call a friend here. Many snakes in the grass. Watch your step working for these people.

Being able to work from home. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything!!  Every move is recorded with webcams and every call is recorded, but not for training and support, but to give you monthly reviews of how well or how poorly you are able to handle the stressful calls and situations.  Training not consistent across the company or even within the same teams. EXTREMELY chaotic and unorganized because of  very limited resources, and very little support or help from managers. No phone numbers for different departments, only email addresses, no phone numbers to call management for help, all questions and requests for help have to be typed in a chat and/or email, then you're getting yelled at or cursed out while waiting for a response! Every day, customers express their disdain, dissatisfaction and extremely unpleasant experiences with the company and you get yelled at multiple times a day for things you have no control over and no training in and you are pretty much left on your own to try and figure out how to resolve issues or to try and search for the appropriate person or department to route the caller to.  No confidence in the job you're doing because you have to figure out things on your own with lots of trial and error and customers do not have patience with you when you're trying to learn on your own.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible!! RUN AWAY!! VERY stressful! Little support,  limited resources for help.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Figuring out things on your own with very little confidence because of the lack of training and consistency in training within each department. Faced with extremely difficult callers and situations multiple times a week with very little help and support to resolve issues.

Worked for this company for 2.5yrs at the Kalamazoo Airway location. Started off as ok but training was lacking in a lot of areas for me being a Clinical Technician.I liked that I was on call and had the opportunity to get some OT and incentives for maintaining Pap complaince, but the on call was taken away and then with out any communication the Pap incentive pay was taken away. I didn't find out until months down the road. I would get tasked things that I had no training on and typically it would be CSR stuff. I had asked NUMEROUS times to be trained on this and it never happened. I get we were short handed because the company can never keep drivers because they do not pay them no where near what they are worth for how hard they work for the hours they work. CSRs and RTs rotate through the company for the same reason. Bad pay and bad hours equal high employee turn over. So when an office is forced to keep an entitled and apathetic RT that picks and chooses when they do or don't want to work or if they feel it is beneath them they boot it to the person down the totem pole, in this case my Clinical Tech position there. I had to go behind the RT there multiple times to retrain patients on CPAP/BIPAPS.  Patients would be weary coming in after seeing the RT because of how they were either talked to or treated. Other DME items I would have to go back as well and retrain. RT constantly had a horrible attitude and would whine or complain anytime anyone would come to them or ask questions. When I finally had enough of getting treated like poorly because I refused to be taken advantage of by the RT I went to management both office and branch.  nothing happened because guess what, they can't afford to lose a RT since the company can't keep them. Also getting sent to an aggressive patientschouse as a female by myself was the cherry on top 

To put in perspective about this company that rakes in billions in the medical healthcare industry yet has the worse customer service ratings from the patients whose lives solely rely on the company’s products….
They simply do not care and that starts with the management all the way to corporate. They just see you as a statistic and even worse than amazon LOL. You are undervalued, overworked, and underpaid. Barley making more than an amazon driver YET as a medical delivery driver you are exposed to much more health related risks being inside patients homes and medical facilities. BE PREPARED TO NEVER BE HOME OR OFF ON TIME. 8 HOUR SHIFTS ALWAYS BECOME 10 and 10 HOUR SHIFTS COME 12. No formal or professional training program at all. You just take an online orientation that talks about company rules and employee handbook stuff and that’s it. You get thrown into the fire and learn everything yourself. From product location, how to pull it, how to assemble it, then load. Troubleshooting and fixing equipment you learn by yourself.  Management could care less about drivers and just care about the unrealistic volume of work they give you then write you up if not completed. Takes 1-2 hours to load then still expect you to do your route of 8 hours work done by the end of your 8 hour shift. 
No advancement opportunities, no positive work culture, terrible pay, hands off management that doesn’t care. Also every other driver is aware of the terrible work culture so you end of working for two because you have to cleanup other drivers incompleted stops. Dispatchers will add more stops while you are already out delivering… expected to drive back and reload. Terrible place to work

I'll be honest, I was with this company for 3 years. During my time I had to transfer departments due to the worst type of harassment imaginable. One manager stated he specifically hired women he knew from tinder, another was related to the owner and did absolutely nothing, actually most if not all of management was related to the owner. The amount of drama, hatred, and disrespect that comes from this company is unreal. The HR team rotates through HR leads like it's nothing, and most of the people working in HR don't know what they're doing. The benefits you receive, you'll never see. Mostly because the medical benefits have such a high deductible and won't refill prescriptions after you refill 3 times. I wish I was joking. They also do not pay fairly at all. Everyone in our department all made a different amount. While you're not supposed to talk about how much you make at all, we couldn't help but compare since we weren't getting the raises we were promised at all. The one pro you could possibly think of would be paid lunches right? Welp, don't get your hopes up because half the time, if you're in the least liked department you'll never see the paid lunches until everyone else has eaten it. The worst part is, the billing department was laid off. When we all had to come here to look for new jobs they decided to post they were hiring billing reps to take our place instead of training us on how to correct mistakes. There is zero job security. The fact that every Friday would be ominously known as "Firing Friday's" and would have you sit on the edge of your seat wondering if you'd be able to pay rent for the month was enough for most people to get out fast. The management is quick to pick favorites, particularly people they happened to be able to get hired.

My experience with AdaptHealth has been very disappointing. Leadership is poor, and discrimination is still an issue in this company, which is unacceptable in this day and age. The workplace does not feel family-oriented or supportive. Being on call meant I had to miss multiple family events and even funerals, which showed me how little work-life balance was valued. Employees deserve better treatment, respect, and fairness.

A typical day at AdaptHealth involved traveling between hospitals and patient homes to set up oxygen, nebulizers, and other DME products. The patients were the best part of the job — always kind and appreciative, which made the work rewarding. However, the long hours, constant on-call demands, and lack of work-life balance often overshadowed the positives. Leadership was poor, the culture unsupportive, and discrimination remained an issue. Missing important family events and even funerals was not uncommon because of the company’s expectations.

My experience with this company, particularly at the Central Florida / Orlando branch, was disappointing. The workplace culture appeared to be heavily influenced by favoritism rather than fairness or performance. Employees who expressed concerns or offered constructive pushback often felt scrutinized, and it created an environment where job security seemed uncertain. Management turnover was notably high, with few leaders remaining for extended periods. There were frequent absences from branch leadership, and staff were often left to manage operations without adequate support. Communication from management primarily occurred when addressing issues or disciplinary matters, rather than providing guidance, collaboration, or encouragement. There were also concerns regarding professionalism and accountability. Extended lunches, limited managerial presence, and internal conflicts among leadership contributed to low morale. Promises of advancement opportunities were sometimes made without clear pathways or appropriate compensation adjustments, which led to frustration among staff. Workload distribution was another challenge. When team members were absent, remaining employees were expected to absorb additional responsibilities without adjustments or support. Training new hires was frequently delegated to staff members without additional compensation, adding further strain.
While the branch would appear highly organized during visits from senior leadership, the day-to-day experience often lacked the same structure and oversight. Overall, the environment did not consistently reflect the collaborative and supportive culture initially presented.

1. There are 2 Central Arkansas therapists that are trying to set up vents, manage the ones that are already set up & difficult to maintain, set up BIPAP ST/STA/ASV (that are becoming more frequent), and often drive more than 60 miles one way to see patients. We have almost 80 vents currently running. This coverage-area problem needs to be corrected. 
2. Workplace culture is toxic. Sales teams are promoting vent setups for many mentally incapable patients that cannot maintain compliance requirements. Conversations with them make it obvious that their #1 concern is their commission. It has been disappointing to meet so many people in this company that appear to be only interested in numbers & money.
3. As therapists, we are on call for a week at a time. It is hard to plan family events with the current call schedule. 
4. The pay is horrendous. I understand now why not many therapists stay with DMEs. 
5. At what point does the current vent load become too much for 2 people? This has never been discussed with us by administration.
6. I have LOVED taking care of patients in their homes. It is a very interesting take on patient care. 
7. Hardest part of the job: having to take up slack for setups with BIPAP when managers could hire someone to help with that in the office. That way, the vent therapists could focus on the vent patients ONLY. Also, it is difficult to consistently be called through the middle of the night when on call by a drug-addled patient wanting a ride home.
8. Culture: much back-stabbing that has been consistently tolerated.
