For anyone who has ever worked in a typical hospital like settings, where employee morale is nearly nonexistent. And I do not care which hospital in the United States it is. Find a map and throw a pin. This is the same in every hospital: employees are overworked and understaffed and underpaid. So, when I say, ARC is different, I am not making this up. When I was hired, I expected ARC to be like every other medical facility: understaffed, overworked, over stressed, bonuses paid with pizzas and underpaid. I was so wrong!!!! Everyone at ARC, from the CEO to the person who cleans, takes "we are a family" mentality to heart. I have never in my entire professional life, have been treated with such respect, as I am treated at ARC. Every conversation with management ends "I appreciate you"! DO YOU KNOW the amazing feeling when you hear management say this to you!!!! During holidays we received brand name apparel. Not that I ever turned down cheap hospital t-shirts, but it is an amazing feeling knowing corporate cares about its employees enough to actually purchase brand name clothing. Remember when I made a joke about pizzas? Well, ARC owns a catering company, just for the sole purpose of not being like every other healthcare facility that gives pizzas to its employees, ARC caters to its employees, and it is real food. How amazing is this!!!!!
For anyone looking for a job, ARC will be the last job you will ever accept.

Assisting clients, documenting client progress and health, and promoting a healthy environment for both clients and staff. I have learned first hand how to conquer addiction and have been shown how to help others over come addiction. I have also learned how to perform all my job duties like how to care for clients, do document their health progress, and assist with client needs in a respectful way. Management is great, knowledgeable and willing to assist and listen to help problem solved any issues. Also management is caring, respectful and honestly I couldn't ask for better management and supervisors.  Work place culture is very handsome on and team based with a deep understanding of each clients needs and any needs of the clients to promote sober, healthy living to conquer addiction and better their life's.  The hardest part of my job is seeing a client I believe in and have spent countless hours talking to and assisting with their progress to leave without finishing their treatment. The greatest part of my job is watching clients come in struggling with addiction and seeing them progress to making better decision and becoming a witness that change is possible and coming to realization that they are do deserve change from their old behaviors. Another one is having guys come up to me and the respect that I give them they show back towards me. 

Worst career move I ever made. Very toxic work environment, poor training, favoritism, friend's game, very low pay, saw what everyone was talking about as soon as I became staff. Sick people caring for sick people. You can work like a dog, not call in, always be on time, be qualified and people who aren't qualified and lazy just walk in door as a friend of a friend making more than you with no such qualifications , which they're helping them get. Everyone else had to intern and work like dogs and prove themselves beforehand. You have people passing medicines that shouldn't be and constant med mistakes they correct for them. Human Resources will call your boss and tell anything you said so don't think things will change. They preach nothing changes if nothing changes and the only changes to the clients . All I'm seeing is several employees walking away because they stayed and worked hard too and nothing changed after dedicating yourself because you love your job. Our workload is unreal and also the lowest paying facility. Guess I had to see for myself that hardwork, persistence and staying sober doesn't work at HazelHills .If anyone lasts more than a year there, they're in on the little games trust me. If you think it's bluff see for yourself like I did. 

Nobody is paid enough, people are pressured to work off the clock because the company is extremely strict about overtime. Lots of shady practices go down on the daily. The higher you look in the company the more corrupt it is. Please do NOT ever trust HR if you work for this company. They only have management’s best interest in mind. Tons of micromanaging that goes on, — to the point where you feel like you can’t step away to stretch or use the bathroom because you’ll be accused of neglecting clients. Only way you’re getting promoted in the company is brown nosing or being family / friend of someone in upper management. Benefits are not great, maternity leave is a joke, paternity leave is non-existent, disciplinary system and attendance policy has gotten insanely strict. There is an overall feeling of “nobody in this company cares about me and I am just a replaceable working body to them” that myself and every employee I’ve ever talked to in the company that is not in management has. Please just do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. It is not worth the mental and emotional turmoil you are likely to experience while working here. I am not comfortable specifying the specific location and position I work in for this company as I have watched many coworkers be retaliated against for less, but I currently work here, and I am desperately applying elsewhere. 

I have been working for them for 2 years at first my jobs was wonderful it was actually Christian based and it was about the clients. Now it’s all about the money corporate has run off the best employees. It’s the most stressful job I’ve ever had because more and more is asked of you with less pay. I’ve was supposed to have two raises by now and I haven’t had the first one yet. Everyday I go into work looking to be fired for not doing something right. They charge the rules everyday and half of the time you don’t know about it until your in trouble for it. They run the company off of email and spreadsheets and they are so many you can’t keep up. They ask you to work and then take your overtime from you. They change your time and you never get the hours you actually work. Corporate micromange the centers and they never set foot in a center to actually know how they really operate. I love the people I work with and the clients but corporate makes your job miserable. They give people jobs running the company that doesn’t know the first thing about addiction. This company needs to go back to how it operated when they first started. They just hide behind the cross acting like they are a Christian company trying to help people but they only care about profits now and not saving lives. 

ARC gave me my first Peer Support Specialist job. Pay was mediocre, not great, but they offered paid holidays, OT, trainings which they paid for, advancement opportunities, Christmas bonuses,  and an excellent working environment. ARC is very compassionate and mission driven, utilizing a team of highly professional behavioral health worker to promote recovery in their clients. Very structured clinical and peer support group meetings daily, as well as take clients to outside AA and NA meetings. I was very impressed with ARC and although I made slightly less money than everywhere else I've worked as a certified Peer Support Specialist, I wish I had never left ARC because they are second to none in every other aspect. That statement alone should say everything about the way ARC's treatment of their employees. Top notch company to be a part of! 

By far the  worst career choice i have ever made. Would not recommend. Save your mental health and avoid working for this company. Terrible work environment, it's all about the money. This company may have been great 10 years ago, but their principal purpose is lost. I had to defend this company in every room I walked in. My community has no trust in ARC, and rightfully so. Clients are dropped off at shelters against court order should they choose to leave the program. I would never ever send my child to one of these facilities. I can't agree with a company who has million dollar marketing campaigns, your reputation of recovery should speak for its self and with ARC that's definitely not the case. Grateful to not be a part of this mess any longer. 

I have been working as a remote therapist for ARC for slightly less than a year and intend to leave soon. It's a stereotypical large agency: communication is poor and information is inconsistent. Policies are constantly changing, the pay is very low, and mental health needs of clients are largely ignored. Time expectations placed on therapists are unrealistic and often unethical, placing therapists at risk of liability and compromising client care. Many of the staff at the centers enjoy antagonizing the clients and try to provoke them to react or to leave AMA.  Most staff are in recovery themselves, and I've had clients report to me that they can tell some staff perform their duties while under the influence.   Clinical management is friendly in a bubbly sort of way, and over time I've come to realize it's actually similar to Bricksburg in the Lego Movie ("Everything is Awesome!")

The job itself is manageable. The environment related to client and nurses is generally optimal and pleasant. Off site nursing leadership is unreceptive to staff nurse concerns, condescending and dismissive. Leadership is out of touch with the amount of attention required for such a high volume of clients. The facility often lacks resources to cover the needs for an institution with the ability to hold up to 700 young - older adult males. Great concept, lack of follow through. Very high nurse turnover (speaks volumes). Sadly, would not recommend friends or colleagues to pursue long term employment despite institution being rated as one of the top places to work in KY.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is ok but they give you no time to complete your paperwork during your shift and it is immense . I was promised in my interview this didn’t happen there and it didn’t for a while but all that changed . The company’s main focus is money and the people in charge don’t have a lot of experience and their policies and decision making reflect that. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You have to use your personal phone for all communications through chats and it never ceases day or night and the paperwork is ridiculous .

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very superficial it’s like going to work with people who try to live out their Facebook profiles. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in early work pretty much  nonstop lunch and breaks are for paperwork and you also have to do meetings and treatment team during your lunch in some facilities.
