The company that I work for I am the only minority in that whole building that works there. The company has a bad reputation they never really were the mass like there should even though it's a nursing home 90% other employees that work.  especially on third shift never has a mask on. And the ones that do were amass never cover their nose. Management has too much favoritism they only think of themselves even the boss looks like he is involved with one of the girls that works in the office.  Management has to do whatever they want and they have their own rules when it comes to their favorite people that work there. Most of the time the AIDS get the bonuses the ones that work double or whatever. I see management buy a lot of food and always have meetings that really don't concern the employees. They also have a covid unit that they use for the patients that do have covid by they never have enough staff so the nurses that do have to cover for for the covid unit two and a half two cover it and then go back to the regular floor and take care of the other residents in their rooms. That is not safe for the healthy ones when they are going in and out of the covid unit like they're not supposed to. I never feel safe and protected so if the nurses that cover the regular area and then have to go in the covid unit what any of us have when they go in and out of the cove at unit to care for other people.

A typical day would include all day-to-day activities required to document and deposit funds in the correct fund accounts and to properly recognize the donor.  I learned many aspects of fundraising to include pertaining IRS laws; ways in which to cultivate donor relationships; and the inner activities of a working board of directors.  Regular work hours were from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm however, an average of 2 additional hours 4 of 5 days per week were a common occurrence.  Management styles were that of "close to the chest" in regards to information about the company.  Most employees do not feel secure in their positions and escorted terminations occur frequently.  Co-workers below the management level were helpful and caring, as well as very knowledgeable in their area of employment.  The hardest part of this position was the lack of communication from management.  The most enjoyable part was coordinating fundraising events and recognizing the donors of the events.

The company has a real issue with upper management and do not allow upward momentum or achievement if you are not part of the selected “group” or favorable employees. Their benefits are practically non-existent and the medical plan offerings pretty much make you use all Adena locations for medical care yet you still pay insane amounts of money for any and all testing. The pay rates for PCAs Nurses and Lab staff is comical and they claim to be “competitive” with wages and are the lowest paying employer within Ross county (nursing homes and home health agencies are paying staff higher wages) their HR department defends their best interest and do not want to resolve wrongful issues brought to them and do not treat employees fairly across the board. Policy’s are never followed through, no repercussions for staff or management who commit wrongdoing and it fosters an unhealthy, miserable environment for all involved.

A typical day of work for me, as an LPN/Scribe consisted of rooming patients, vitals, scheduling, sending referrals, making phone calls to patients and pharmacies, assisting patients with an "extra" needs or concerns, empathetic listening, and assisting Providers with any other needs that they might have. 
The CNP I worked with was intelligent and genuinely cared about the well-being of her patients and would listen to my concerns about any red flags that I noted in their care. My coworkers were fun and sassy, but helpful when needed. Of course, you have the Dr's that are divas and are a bit difficult, but that is "everywhere." All in all, with few exceptions, it was a great place to work! I only resigned d/t a recent family emergency.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They don't care about their employees. You're literally just a warm body. If you have a family don't bother they could care less about your kids needs and if they get sick or if there is emergencies. They're laying off under the radar and going to a skeleton crew because they can't afford to pay their employees. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The higher upside are so cliques together with their besties no one is safe from their negative vendetta 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible absolutely horrible. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
If I'm not being ran ragged or talked down to, I'm being put in the most degrading position as they can find.

Management has no clue. Employees are lost and uneducated due to poor management. Adena likes to outsource management companies to run the show/circus. Pushing all the devoted employees into an overwhelming workload forcing them to find other opportunities where they are not treated like a number.
Kitchen staff has crumbled, Housekeeping staff has lost all hope for a life raft as HR just sits in a daze of dumbness. Medical staff has diminished and the care is absent. Nurses assistant's are ran like greyhounds in a race with no finishing line. Promised more parking for employees but guess what, you have to pay. They actually auction off parking spaces. 

My team has a few bad apples that act out repeatedly and slack off and nothing happens other than others have to pick up their work. Benefits suck and are outrageous in cost. You pay for “paid “ holidays out of your own PTO and if you do not have any you get dinged for it. Upper management only cares about the almighty dollar. The new competition in town pays way more starting out and the benefits are WAY better, just saying. A coworker left to them and now makes more starting out there than I do, and I have been at Adena for 4 years. You don’t feel valued. Choose wisely.

Co-workers and decent pay made it tolerable.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is no accountability for incompetent management. Upper level execs are very cliquish and think they are better than employees and patients. Very disappointing for a healthcare organization. Clinical staff is decent.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Paranoid, chaotic, leadership can’t be trusted. You’re always watching your back.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Usually trying to get my work done and having to pivot because a manager has some “urgent” need they’ve put off for weeks and it’s due by end of the day. Then they give attitude if you have a question.

Worked 3yrs prior then returned to a new role. This role was suppose to be in a new clinic that was to open in December then after hired the date for opening was moved to February! I was told I would train in a couple other clinics but my first day I was told I would work the covid drive thru indefinitely! Sorry but my strengths were not utilized at all I was a body with a license. Then when I was exposed to the other clinic it was a complete chaotic mess with no flow or organization!! They say your important and they hire best of the best??? Didn’t feel important nor did I see the best of the best as some nursing didn’t even notice a medical history on a patient prior to running a lab. So sad!! 

I am dismayed by the lack of support, disorganization, and negativity prevalent in this workplace. The institution is marred by controversy and experiences a high turnover rate. It is crucial to conduct thorough research before accepting a job offer.
 Your  job security may be compromised if certain individuals form a negative impression of you. Overall, I do not recommend working here.
