This job basically takes people on at the beginning of the summer until business starts to slow down in the middle or end of summer. During this time, it's basically possible to work 70+ hours per week, and the pay is really excellent. Unfortunately, the likelihood is that new hires will be laid off around July or August. The position is effectively closed-shop union.

As far as the work, there is a lot of emphasis on meeting production goals. Frequently, something will break down in the assembly lines, and employees will basically be expected to wait until the problem is fixed, and of course this means that nobody wants to be the reason that the line is shut down for any amount of time. Management and maintenance will always jump in to help wherever there is a problem, and although normal breakdowns are anticipated, there is an expectation of competence. 

The most likely positions hired will be overnight. 

Some environments are incredibly hot and humid, others are very nicely climate-controlled. There are many different positions such as forklift operator, labeler, capper and palletizer, and new hires are often given experience and training in these positions just to see where their abilities shine. When the layoffs come around, each position has its own layoff LI/FO queue, and as such someone hired before you may get laid off before you due to your specialization. 

Overall, it's a pretty fantastic way to make money during the summer, but you'll have to spend a few summers as a temp/seasonal employee before you will get hired.

Friction between management and employees, slackers not held accountable 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As long as everyone leaves you alone and doesn’t micromanage, you can be very productive.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
10 1/2 hour day, 15 minute breaks, 1/2 hour lunch. Fast paced environment.

Culture of forced overtime. Your personal life is not important. If they dont like you you will become a target and inevitably be pushed out or leave. The 3 day weekends are nice and compensation is fair, however it dose not make up for the toxic fear driven culture. You will be observed on camera and the union looks out for the employer more than the employees. Management radiates superiority and need to grow up! Years ago they flushed out the real men that knew how to run a warehouse and replaced them with arrogant collage brats.

You will be forced to work 6 days a week 
This is a seniority based job meaning the less time you have the less say you have 
Do not apply expecting to have days off 
Stick to your self 
Dont share personal info with anyone if you dont want the entire company to know word here travles extremely fast 
This is the perfect job to be money hungry 

A lot of overtime opportunities. Many times forced in for it. Days can either be long and boring or long and hectic. Most people seem like good people at first but always be cautious of who you do and say things around because many people are actually rats so I suggest just staying to yourself and you will have no problems.

excellent job and working  conditions except for overzealous supervisor who wanted her family to work there and made it clear that she wanted you to vacate the position for her kids

People who care are held to standards while people who only care about a paycheck are given free reign. Frowned on for wanting a life-work balance, while others take "mental days" and get promoted 

As good as a place as it is to work at, I want to make more money and move forward in my career. I want to take what I've learned throughout the year's here and in managing a restaurant and make a better life for my family and myself.

If you want to make money you can do it here. Long hours, lots of forced OT, snitches and backstabbing aplenty.  Union is a joke and won't back you unless it's super basic stuff. If you're not part of the inner circle with management they go out of their way to make your life miserable. Money really is the only plus.
