What is the best part of working at the company?
Flexible hours. Somewhat close assignments.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to balance what you know as a clinician and what the parent wants. You are responsible for executing the family's wishes even in life-threatening situations.  The housekeeping. I slowly became the primary person executing any of my patients' needs. Laundry over the weekend? It was left by my chair Monday morning. Being expected to coordinate and communicate for the parents when it comes to school, school nursing, bussing schedules. I loved the kid I worked for, but I will never work another job like this. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I never went to the office and only met with my supervisor bi-monthly. The parents were my "trainers"

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Total care: hygeine, continence, meds, feeds
Scheduled care: Prepping hundreds of liquid syringes for the upcoming week. Stripping and remaking beds as scheduled and as continence demands. Which is often 3x a week. Then you are responsible for completing that laundry all the way back to the linen closet. G-button changes. Medical supply orders for family. 
Plus basic nursing logistics: charting, communication with providers, entering orders, submitting titration

All with no coworkers.

*PROS-You get to make your own availability or schedule, work close with the family's and most family's are pretty flexible, you get to play and get paid for it with most pediatric cases, office staff is amazing, they offer quick pay (same day/next day pay of half of shift) with a company approved debit card. Pick your clients. You can make some bank if you want to work. You're pretty much an independent nurse with nuse supervisors for that case. Cant lift over 50lbs unless hoyer in home. Paid for lunch since you can not leave home. salary depends on what insurance comp offer, 

*CONS- can not transfer funds from comp issued card with QP. If family wants their friends and family memb. to have a job you get bumped, LPNS make the same wage, not sure on benefits bc they've yet to show up but I did see accrual of PTO after 2 years, keep track of your own hrs just for reference.  Its every man for themselves when it comes to fellow nurses. No communication between office staff most of the time. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
This style of home health is great because you get to spend time with your patients and make a difference in their lives - instead of spending your whole day driving from place to place for an hour.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication. The headquarters are in St Louis. I am never sure what is going on with the company - there aren't weekly updates on policies or practices. I have never met anyone from our local supervising office.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Overall I feel they do care for the patients. The autonomy is nice - no micromanaging which is a breath of fresh air coming from a hospital or nursing home environment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Assessments, medications, treatments, activities, charting. Pretty typical nursing practices.

I worked with this company for very short term. It was difficult to get ahold of management. When the client I worked with did not work out, they never called me and offered any other clients or possible work for me like they said they would. I was given no training by nursing staff. There were other things that I didn’t agree with but got cleared up after a while. Never until I worked with this company had I been left on the back-burner like I was here. Let’s just say it’s a really good thing I stayed with my other job as PRN so I was able to get right back into full time hours. I don’t recommend this company as they appeared unprofessional and unorganized to me. 

Advantage Nursing is a great company to work for! I am a staffing coordinator for the company and I can honestly say to be in this position you have to have a kind heart and actually care about the people you are trying to help, which we all do. All of the staffers here communicate well with each other, asking questions to try and expand our knowledge and be better at our positions.  The cromradery between the office employees is fantastic!

As a staffer, a lot of phone calls are made daily to ensure scheduling is completed to the best of our ability. 

I have worked with Advantage for 5 years and have to say it's the best company I have ever worked for.  They take care of all employees whether they're in the office or out in the field.

Overall good company, competitive pay. Relaxed work environment. Managers and supervisors have never made work or documentation/timesheets difficult for myself. As long as all paperwork is turned in on time there is no areas of grey. Good work environment they tried to find cases that fit your schedule and are open to any questions or information you need.
 
Been working here for almost two years. If you don't like your case, tell them they are happy to place you somewhere else.
I would recommended working here, I've truly enjoyed it.

I'm currently employed with this company and have been for almost two years. The entire staff from the very top down to the bottom has always been professional and courteous. Field supervisors are always available and dont mind middle of the night calls. The key to working in this type of environment is flexibility. I can't imagine working for any other Home Care agency!
If I could change ONE thing, it would be better benefits. But if you have a positive attitude, believe in professionalism, understand the concept of being a TEAM, and have a genuine desire to provide quality care, this is the company for you!

I love working for Advantage Nursing Services.  I staff for the company and really enjoy my job.  It is very well compensated and the many benefits of working here are great.  We are a well organized company that allows children to be at home where they grow best; it is a very rewarding career to say the least.  

A Typical day at work would involve lots of phone calls.  I call all of my clients once a week as well as calling employees, applicants and of course scheduling all of my active clients.  

The workplace culture is great, everyone is so helpful and allows me to learn and grow with my position.

Did not receive much training before starting the position. Pay was fair, and I was paid on time, I did not receive the sign on bonus I was promised. Never met management in person. I had issues with receiving a new patient once my current one had moved states. Which did not make sense given the Amt of cases. The staff member that would assign patients would not respond to texts or calls at a timely matter but would respond instantly to other nurses who had worked for the company longer. Unfortunately it became a headache and I left the company. 

I worked in clients homes for the most part it was fun,kind,welcoming respectful, coul be active at times and laid back at other times. I’ve worked with some really good people both staff & clients, I’ve learned that ANS. Used to have a lot of benefits concerning the nurses. I’m not so sure about the CNA’s they should improve benefits and opportunities give incentives for their CNA’s  and more job security other than that. They are a great company.
