Pros:
Working at AdventHealth provided valuable experience in managing high-volume cases, collaborating across departments, and supporting workplace safety initiatives. The role offered strong exposure to OSHA compliance, return-to-work programs, and cross-functional communication with leadership.

The team environment was supportive, and I had the opportunity to develop professionally, strengthen my analytical skills, and contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts employee well-being. The organization also offers good benefits and a mission-driven culture that many employees genuinely believe in

Cons:
Frequent leadership changes created instability and a lack of clear direction. Communication from upper leadership became limited, which made it difficult to align on expectations and long-term goals.

Additionally, performance metrics did not always reflect the true scope or complexity of the work being done, which could lead to misinterpretation of productivity. Organizational restructuring ultimately impacted team morale and job security.

Advice to Management:
Improve transparency and consistency in communication, especially during times of organizational change. Ensure performance metrics accurately reflect the quality and complexity of work, not just volume. Supporting frontline teams with clearer expectations and stability would significantly improve employee experience and retention.

Some shift managers work well at maintaining good energy and a positive environment while others are only interested in themselves and show no support and turn back requests for help into fault-finding and their work is known by all to be the worst but has gone unchecked by senior management. You cannot work in a reasonable work space as you’re spread out over many 40 bed floors and often two separate but adjoined buildings. Several transports create time management difficulties and little rest before late afternoon. If at all. Breaks are unheard of before 1 pm. Older therapists are physically eroded to many known serious physical problems due to constant on feet demands with understaffing. You feel mostly alone as an RT because you’ll be in so many places throughout the month. New management might help make positive changes but still waiting. If you work the floors non electric carts will be given with a supply of equipment you will push everywhere for 12.5 hours. Grown to big for us. Unrealistic med distribution timelines and reprimands if not done. No real support for extreme days. 

Healing ministry of Jesus Christ is not the true values as it’s unrealistic to expect one on one loving and patient experiences. Major upper Managemnt interventions should be made to cause the moral to change. New equipment delivery or transport options should be implemented at any costs. 

AdventHealth as a hospital has a lot of great qualities, and there are many excellent physicians, nurses, and team members who truly care about patient care. The organization itself has a strong mission and provides important services to the community.

However, working in the echo/vascular ultrasound department has been mentally taxing. The biggest challenge is not the clinical work itself, but the direct supervision and management structure. In a highly specialized department like echo and vascular ultrasound, it is difficult when leadership has limited or no hands-on experience with the daily demands, workflow, physical strain, and clinical decision-making required in these roles.

The staff are expected to perform at a high level in fast-paced and complex environments, but the support, understanding, and communication from direct management often do not match the reality of the work being done. This can create unnecessary stress, low morale, and a feeling that employees are not being heard or properly supported.

Overall, AdventHealth is a strong hospital system, but the echo/vascular ultrasound department would benefit greatly from more experienced, clinically knowledgeable leadership and better support for the staff performing this demanding work every day.

Management is terrible…. No room for advancement for non full time employees.
No work life balance, no respect for family life. Constant calling or texting when not at work to come in because they are short staffed. Employees left feeling burnt out and when you can’t stay late or come in earlier you’re called not a team player. 
Management does not realize their staff is TIRED of being 1 person doing the job of 3 people.
Stuff always broken or going down. Not given the proper aids or items to do your job efficiently.
Team members who have been there 10-15+ years always complain but never speak up, and kiss butt to management. Complaints go ignored. 
I broke my back and bend over backwards for them and never got any single recognition for my work, verbally and in front team acknowledgements go to the same employees every time. I would rather work elsewhere and make less money for a peace of mind!

AdventHealth will not allow hourly employees to be even one minute late without consequences.  Conversely, salaried employees (personal acquaintances) seriously abuse company time and are paid well for this.  It's discouraging.  I worked happily for 17 years for AdventHealth, took several years off and came back to a completely different environment.  I would never recommend this company to anyone hourly who is trying to take care of a family or needs ANY flexibility.  Their service  standard of "Love Me" did not see extend to me personally.  

The clinicians are great. They are all very supportive. However, it is administration (Adventhealth medical group). 6 APPs have quit in the last 8 months because night differential is not paid to them. They make them work for their bonus. They have yet to do any market analysis for their salary. They expect the doctors to pick up shifts for extra little pay. They force the APPs to not have a part time job elsewhere and will only offer them less than national average for overtime pay. Most of the APPs are being forced to work only nights. Administration doesn’t care. 

Working for AdventHealth Orlando (Then Florida Hospital Orlando), was a good experience but a stressful one. The unit that I was hired to work for was a multi-system PCU and it was constantly hiring nurses because they were always so short staffed. I would often have 5 patient assignment due to staffing. We rarely had techs, and when he had techs, they were always taken up by the patients who needed sitters, or max assist patients. On the positive end, lots of good experience and job security! You will definitely stay busy working here.

The Christian culture, you really get to know Jesus Christ.

Coworker emotionally unstable. Personally fluctuate in the day-to-day basis.

Christian culture. Friendly, professional. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Just focus on my responsibilities, making sure that the patients are safe at all times.

 inpatient pharmacy has poor management. Workflow is burning out techs. Techs decide to go somewhere else to get competitive pay. This campus has a bad reputation with techs so no one wants to come here and help. It's a mess here. Pharmacy is definitely not a good field to be in now.  It has outgrown its need. I'm leaving soon. Found a better paying job and better benefits. 


This company pays really well but the management on my unit can be unsupportive as well as my voice is never heard when I state a concern. As a grad nurse my recruiter put me on a unit I wasn’t happy with and I’ve asked multiple times via email and phone to switch units and she refused to….I feel like as a new grad RN I should start my new RN career in an environment that I’m happy with, not one I was placed in and had no choice but to stay there or quit.
