I’ve been with this company for five years, and during that time, I’ve seen firsthand the unwavering commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. While we've experienced leadership changes, those transitions have brought positive adjustments and a renewed focus on our mission.

I began my journey as an Executive Director and have since held roles in Quality and Compliance, Area VP, and now serve as a Regional Vice President over multiple states. I’m a clear example of the professional growth opportunities this company provides to those who are dedicated and mission-driven.

Even amidst the staffing challenges that are impacting the entire healthcare industry, we’ve put strong quality measures in place to ensure our patients and their families continue to receive excellent care. What truly stands out is that every employee has a voice. Through regular engagement surveys, leadership not only listens but acts on our feedback.

The current leadership team, in place for just over two years, has faced challenges head-on with transparency and accountability. They remain focused on what matters most: delivering exceptional care to our communities across Georgia. I am proud to be part of a team that leads with integrity, listens to its people, and lives by its core values daily.

Constant turnover of ALL disiplines leads to long hours and poor continuity of patient care. Patients never have staff consistency, which is an ongoing complaint of families that management never seems worried about. Management is unsupportive, acting with the impulse control of teenagers, lacking solid leadership qualities. Office environment is uncomfortable, with cliques and bullying by management team. Sales team receives bonuses and incentives, which only leads to pushing too many inappropriate admissions. Sales and management DO NOT like the word hospice, wishing services to be identified as only “Affinity”. There are daily revocations, which clinical staff is blamed and punished. Despite constant understaffing, which management refers to as “growing pains”, not admitting is NEVER a reasonable option. Nurses have caseloads of 18-20 each, and are expected to see 8-10 patients daily, with all too wide  geographic area (sometimes driving over an hour between visits). Social workers and chaplains have an average of 60 patients, which cover 8 counties. Policy is to chart at bedside (which is impossible with daily expectations/assignments) and there is no additional pay for charting at home, however most clinicians chart a minimum of 3 unpaid hours daily. Mandatory weekly meetings, long daily morning calls and additional required monthly trainings only add to the stress of each work day, knowing it can not all be completed within 8 hours. No paid holidays. No 401k. NO family/life work balance. Minimal PTO availability due to understaffing. Hostile work environment.

I am writing to share my deeply negative experience working at Affinity. The primary focus on sales numbers created an incredibly stressful and unproductive work environment.
The caseloads assigned to each representative were consistently overwhelming. The expectation to constantly meet and exceed unrealistic quotas left little time for proper client care or professional development. This high-pressure atmosphere fostered a culture of fear and burnout.
Additionally, the pervasive gossip and backstabbing among colleagues created a hostile work environment. Rather than focusing on team collaboration and support, employees were more concerned with protecting their own positions. This toxic atmosphere made it difficult to build trust and maintain positive working relationships.
Management's lack of support and empathy exacerbated the situation. Their inability to address the issues raised by employees created a sense of hopelessness and disillusionment. It was evident that their priorities lay elsewhere, and employee well-being was not a concern.
In conclusion, my time at Affinity Hospice was a deeply negative experience. The combination of unmanageable workloads, toxic workplace culture, and ineffective management created a hostile environment that was detrimental to both employee morale and productivity. I would strongly advise potential candidates to carefully consider the company culture before accepting a position.


I worked at Good Samaritan Hospice prior to the merger. I had worked in hospice for 8 years total and had never gone through a merger/acquisition. When Affinity obtained Good Samaritan a lot of employees were scared and many left, I was one of them. It was just the change that made everyone fear. I worked in a different field for 2 years following this. A colleague that I used to work with at Good Samaritan kept reaching out to me and telling me how wonderful Affinity was. I finally gave in and went to interview with them. After a week-long interview process, I had a job offer. I accepted and began my orientation process. About a week into this, I knew this was it for me. The acquisition was the best thing that could have happened for Good Samaritan and those of us who left had missed out on great things. As stated, I had worked for another hospice provider in the area, prior to working for Good Samaritan, but it was nothing like Affinity.  I have now been employed with Affinity Hospice for a little over 6 months, and I still have the same feeling that I had on day 1. The cultural and the support they put into this company for training, and everyday patient care is top notch. I am so very thankful that my previous colleague did not give up on me and brought me back to this wonderful company. This is definitely it for me and I will never work for another Hospice company or healthcare provider. 

Working at Affinity Hospice has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. As a Clinical Support Specialist, each day brings something different such as coordinating care, supporting staff, and making sure patients and families feel supported every step of the way. It’s a fast-paced role, but one that truly makes a difference. I’ve learned so much about teamwork, communication, and the importance of compassion in healthcare. Management is supportive and open, which makes it easy to feel valued and heard. The workplace culture is positive, team-oriented, and full of heart. The hardest part of the job is the emotional side working in hospice means facing loss but that’s also what gives the work its deeper meaning. The most rewarding part is knowing the impact we have on families and patients during such a critical time. If you’re looking for meaningful work with a team that cares, Affinity is a great place to be.

I have worked at other hospice agencies. Affinity is by far the best. It is difficult for a sales person to sell/promote a service or product they cannot believe in - that is ABSOLUTELY not the case with Affinity. I am fully confident that when I tell a provider that we are going to take care of their patients, we are going to do just that and deliver exceptional patient care. Our team is cohesive and supportive of one another. The executive director and clinical manager roll up their sleeves and work alongside field staff to ensure there is a strong work life balance. Sales leaders are also very supportive and there is ALWALYS education and training available for community educators. If we do encounter the rare service failure issue, sales is heard and matters are taken to correct the problem. All branch team members are growth oriented and understand the importance of the sales team and work together to maintain positive relationships with referral sources.

-Can’t retain staff (especially call staff)
-no support from management
-expected to work after hours (still in a visit at 6pm and the “on call” nurse can’t come relieve you)
-Can not say this loud enough - RNCMs are on your own. There is no one to help you. 
-As far as patients go this company ( or at least this branch) is NOT what you would expect from a hospice. You will constantly be overworked and just can not possibly give your patients the care they deserve. There is no individualized care for patients. It’s all about the NUMBERS AND MONEY. Some of the comments I heard from leadership about my patients disgusted me. 
-Toxic environment in the office due to leadership 
-Other nurses who have reported these issues to upper management (corporate) felt like they faced retaliation within the branch. I saw it happen to a friend. 

Found out fast that the CEO was not really in this business for the patients but in it for the money he could take. No one cares how hard you work or it you give 100% of your time to your work. They are cut throat. I have seen the entire office staff and nurses “let go” for reasons that were not true. Staff turn around is high. Expect to be employed for less than 3-4 months then be told you were no longer needed. It breaks my heart thinking about how many nurses they go through, and the patients can’t develop a old relationship with one nurse before they are fired nd another nurse has to cover their patients. I had so many phone calls from my patients that said they were unhappy. It is really sad. I wouldn’t recommend a job at this company to anyone!

Case managers are overworked and underappreciated. You have to always watch your back and trust no one. Management is top heavy and only care about themselves. Pt needs are sacrificed to balance the budget and ensure there is more money for those at the top. Administration take lavish trips to the cabins, beach, and even Germany in the name of team building. Work is not evenly distributed and those that can practice in the field of Nursing and Social Work don't pitch in to help. The work is just piled upon those out in the field. You are required to do tons of after hour work and will only be paid if your in the office. If you go to the office to complete everything that is required you would never see your family.

You won’t find a better work atmosphere than at this workplace. Everyone on the team is very willing to help however they can if someone’s load is heavy that day. This type of work requires a lot of flexibility and being able to triage your patients needs. I’ve never worked another job where the director is so willing to step out of the office and pick up admissions and a load of patients when we are short. This job definitely requires time management skills and if you’re not able to work and manage yourself and your caseload independently, you will easily be overwhelmed. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you have a passion for end of life care and are a strong nurse that can work autonomously, this is a great place for you!
