The opportunity sounded great at first until once started, there is a lack of transparency, secretive, tries to convey themselves as a wellness company when they are not. They portray during training this all fun, loving, positive group of individuals, but then the shoe drops. If your a licensed clinician BEWARE. They put you into ethical dilemmas, expect you to do what they want you to do without causation or concern for your license and will place you under poor leadership that engages in covert tactics to put your job on the line or that comes from upper management to use those persons in those positions to take the fall when it all comes down to it. They have poor leadership that engages in behaviors that are just unexplainable by far. The typical day consists of taking calls, carrying a caseload of people for 90-120 days that you are calling weekly, biweekly, and monthly. They rate your performance based on statistics that they do not explain where the data is derived from and having you monitor your call times and then the calls are recorded  and is your activity as well, your not allowed to ask questions for you will not get a straight answer, very vague in context. The workplace culture is noted as appearing to be caring, compassionate, empathic to those persons you are speaking too, however, that is not the case. You are considered to be a cog in a wheel for them to use up and throw away. Then you are  not allowed to work in what they refer to as their competition, such as any wellness platform and are not allowed to truly care and help people in the capacity that they may need, yet they expect you to build rapport and then use coaching skills to perform to their standard. They do not need licensed individuals to perform such wellness services if that is what is being performed, but they seem to want to place licensed individuals into roles that are beyond the one of connecting people to their benefits rather wanting them to provide therapeutic services by performing techniques over the phone by using their toolbox that they developed for use. There is so much confusion at the end of the day that it will make your head spin. You miss breaks due to the calls that are scheduled daily and then if your not making the calls at particular times then your reprimanded, there is no clarity on practices and they certainly do not follow their own legal and ethical standards. They seem to change the rules up for different people with no set stone in place. They hook you in and then bait you....

Think of AiRCare more like an “Employee Assistance Program” CALL CENTER for “The Castle’s” employees. At first, AiRCare seemed like the ideal workplace for a Licensed Master Social Worker, they said all the right and caring things. The first red flag was that this partner cannot be mentioned. Even internally, we had to refer to them as “The Castle” and they are one of the biggest big box companies in the world. It quickly became clear that “The Castle” and even its partners take precedence over the best interests of the employees we were hired to help. I found myself debating too many ethical dilemmas with management dictating what I could and could not tell the employees. I feel that AiRCare is more of a prevention/protection program for this big box company disguised as an employee support program. In addition, several times I had to assist employees that were experiencing active suicidal ideation when they were not from the state I am licensed in; which jeopardizes my license. 

Furthermore, within the first few months, expect to manage over 200 cases with more being added daily. You will be stuck at a desk with only a 30-minute lunch and two fifteen-minute breaks with every minute being accounted for and tracked. You will have near impossible to reach phone quotas that will be discussed weekly over video chats. 

Finally, “The Castle” is AiRCare’s only contract, so if “The Castle” ever pulls out or does not extend their contract, most, if not all, will lose their jobs.

AiRCare’s mission of reaching out to offer help to those who likely would not reach out themselves is an honorable one. It’s not a terrible place to work…but it’s definitely not the job I thought I was getting into when I was hired.

As a Care Advocate, you will spend your day making outbound calls and receiving inbound calls. 100% of your day will be spent on the phones. This is a call center job. They will tell you that it’s about having a conversation and connecting with the people you’re talking to, but it’s really more about getting them to enroll in the program. You will be “talked to” if you don’t get the numbers they want you to get every day. A background in sales would be very helpful for this position. They will tell you that you don’t have to follow a script, but you will be “talked to” if you don’t word things the way they want you to.

That being said…they’re not terrible. I think the heart of the company is probably in the right place. They do pay well and the benefits are good. They also provide all the equipment you need to work 100% from home. 

The job may be a good fit…for some people. If you are looking for a call center position that you can do 100% from home, and you don’t mind a numbers-driven sales-type environment…this job might be a good fit for you. Just make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into. 


Fast paced called center. Was originally explained it wasn’t call center like but after being in the trenches some time it quickly became evident that’s exactly what it is. 
You have scheduled calls, however, in between those scheduled calls  you are expected to take calls transferred over to you by the recruiting team. Transfer calls take priority over scheduled calls and need to be answered unless there is a glitch in the system preventing you from doing so which can be very overwhelming as some are back to back with little to no break in between. Additionally if there is a glitch, you are to inform IT for troubleshooting. 
Very “data” driven, therefore, hardly any autonomy with developing a schedule with your caseload. More about quantity than quality in my opinion. It may be a good fit for individuals with call center background, however, can be a bit more challenging for those seeking more of a clinical experience with flexibility. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working this job has simply been the comradery with other colleagues when it came to the stress of the job. We were able to validate each other's feelings and keep each other encouraged to make it to the next day. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The KPIs/unrealistic expectations, being tethered to your work station with only a 30min lunch and two 15 min breaks for the day, your hard work being overshadowed but what you didn't do right/achieve.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The energy here was giving "Big Brother" vibes. You're constantly being monitored on just about everything. Company meetings felt like everyone was faking their happiness and "drinking the Kool-aide" to stay in good graces with "the top". Even when we were given an "opportunity" to express ourselves, many were too afraid to do so out of fear of being fired.

At first, the company presents itself as a supportive and empathetic workplace, but my experience was quite the opposite. The hiring process is extremely fast, but so is their decision to let employees go. Training is inconsistent, with different managers providing conflicting information. While they emphasize showing empathy, the reality is a numbers-driven system that feels more like sales rather than genuine mental health support. Employees are coached to follow a strict script, and every detail in training is scrutinized. Passing a ‘role-play’ exam is a make-or-break factor—regardless of your overall performance, attendance, or dedication. Unfortunately, the environment felt more focused on metrics than meaningful impact. This was my personal experience, and I wouldn’t recommend the position to those looking for authentic advocacy in the mental health field.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fully remote, good compensation as licensed clinicians. However this job taught me a valuable lesson…no matter the compensation it’s not worth burn out

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You are monitored and micro managed. Everything is recorded and they will use it against you. They focus on metrics. Even though you are LCSW your skills will be utilized as a call center employee. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Put on headset and answer every incoming call from clients who are mislead into being cold transferred to you in between calling scheduled clients.

Pros: 
*Decent pay and good benefits
* Work from home
* Nice coworkers
* They have a spacious office in a nice part of Saint Paul if you ever need to come in
Cons:
* The care advocate position is mostly cold calling all day. You'll be making 150-200 phone calls per day, leaving mostly voicemails. When you do get someone to answer the phone, they are usually not interested, busy, or just hang up on you.
* Unattainable enrollment goals
*A lot of micro managing from upper management, your work is being watched constantly. Lack of trust in their employees
*Saw multiple employees get fired without warning
*Claims to be a behavioral health company but doesn't care about the mental health of their employees.

There is a lot of favoritism. An unnecessary amount of meetings. They were constantly changing supervisors, changing policies, changing tactics. The supervisors themselves had no idea what was coming next. One day they have you making as many calls as possible, 400+ just to try and connect with someone. Then they decide you need to take your time and make all the calls meaningful so only make a call every 2-3 minutes. Then that didn’t work for them so now they want you to start calling 300 people daily again. Just very ridiculous unrealistic goals to make. You have to be someone’s buddy or spouse to feel accepted and listened to. 

From the beginning I thought something was up, people were way too nice, as if they were trying to hide something. I had accommodations that weren't truly reasonable. Non-communication led to punishment. Lack of support, delayed feedback, and unfair treatment. My concerns were dismissed, and coaching inconsistencies. No transparency. Termination after coaching(coaching on a Monday, let go for performance on a Wednesday) . Lack of diversity affects experience. I don't recommend this company. On and those every other Friday meetings are a joke if you can't provide those things for the people that work for the company.
