Everyone I've worked with has been friendly, but there is a LOT that just wears you down.  Equipment that breaks down constantly (cost of service calls since I started alone could easily cover the price of replacement).  Your schedule in manufacturing can be second/third shift hours one day and first shift the next, forcing you to burn PTO days; you only learn your weekly schedule the friday of the previous week, and it can change at any time, making it difficult to plan anything outside of work; if you know a way to work around an issue, you can't use it because it's not explicitly written out in the batch record because "deviation" is seen only as a dirty word and not as a potential tool to improve the process when necessary.  The employee recognition system caters more towards getting recognition for doing the very basic parts of your job instead of recognizing when you go above and beyond by encouraging to send out quantity rather than quality.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is plenty room  for growth, competitive “biotech” salaries, decent benefits , good as a first job for recent Bio undergraduates 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Depends on your area, I would say lack of direction

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depends on the area Md manager , some units seem like they really bond and others
you can feel they  are disconnected 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Average work load, a lot of useless Teams  meetings, I mecer felt  overwhelmed even on the worse days

Management overworks people and they don't properly compensate people for their hard work. Management needs extensive training to properly manage their employees. They don't really tell you when you've done a good job, you only get talked to when you've done something wrong which discoudiscourages employees from actually putting in their effort in trying. They have alot of favoritism, so if you're their favorite they will help you succeed and move up, if not, you will just stay in the same exact position for a lot longer than others.

Lots of admin and lab work, varies day to day. It involves compendial testing to answering a lot of emails, with paperwork and virtual detailing of work in between.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My separation was the best part about working at Ajinomoto BioPharma Services. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The constant reorgs, high turnover rate, and ongoing 483s made every day stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Valley girl high school cliques for culture and hostile work environment constantly. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wishing I were anywhere else.

There are extreme conflicts of interest in the way management is structured. It's not unusual for junior leadership and under to work 10-12 hours a day, doing the work of two to three people. Changes in schedule are announced without time for workers to prepare their lives outside of work. Machinery, even brand new, breaks down constantly and takes weeks to repair, then changes the schedule again. Avoid at all costs or if you're desperate, keep looking while pulling a paycheck.

CEO and VPs have no idea what operators on the floor are doing/what they should be doing and will berate you and embarrass you in front of colleagues for one mistake. This company is managed terribly and they will fire you for no reason and won't give you any reason. This has happened so many people on my team. The people that worked the hardest are the ones that got fired too. Work long hours with no recognition and the pay is not worth it. Don't work here.

The People at Althea are some of the best you will ever work with/for. there are some parts of the job that need improvement, like if you are really good at your current job sometimes they hold you back from pursuing other opportunities that may further your career. I understand why any group would want to keep the talent for themselves, but it can hinder morale when people are held back.

Good company with nice people that work there. (For the most part)  You know that saying "You get what you pay for?"  This company would much rather pay two "biotech newbees" than pay for one that actually knows what they are doing. In the end it ends up costing the company WAY more money from the "lost" or "redo" projects than it would be to pay for good individuals.

Work at Althea is engaging, challenging, and fast paced. My management was invested in my development and dedicated to doing things right. 

Employees were generally very happy and work hard to serve our clients well. One client even told us that we cared about their product more than they did, and I think that really sums up how hard everyone works.

Overall, I had a great working experience.
