Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys

I'm giving Shunnarah Trial Attorneys three stars mostly because I had a good team lead and getting PTO was never an issue. Kudos to them for always being understanding for being late due to traffic, leaving for personal emergencies, etc. Frankly, I think they show you grace if you're a good agent and bring in the kind of numbers they want. You're given ample time for breaks and lunch, too. The job itself is not hard -- it's more customer service than anything else. The material you have to learn before getting on the phone is dense, but my training class was thorough. Protocol is always changing, so you can expect switching up how you do things on the drop of a dime. The call center is insane. We would constantly flood potential new clients inboxes, so by the time you get them on the phone they are angry that you've been pestering them. We're also instructed not to let them off the phone without a signed contract. An issue I took with that is we're granted the authority to sign a client if it meets our system algorithm. So, we could end up signing someone giving them hope they have a case, and then it's turned down a couple hours after we get off the phone with them. It feeds into the narrative that people think we're a scam. I personally don't blame them if they'd call back angry that they signed an agreement only to have it become void hours later. You have the opportunity to bring in decent commission, but only if you're okay with spam calling people. You're never promised a ton of signs, and you will have slow days where you're just sending texts and emails staring at your computer. For someone like me who wanted to step into a legal role, you won't be getting much exposure other than surface level stuff and data entry. All in all, this was an okay job but if you don't have a sales personality, it might not be for you. 

I have to agree with all the other reviews of this company. You’re definitely underpaid and overworked. The attorneys are not employed by Shunnarah.  They are contractors.  The firm expects the attorneys to bonus their employees so that they can get out of giving you a raise based on the merit of your work.  The health insurance is horrible. It has a 4000+ dollar deductible.  Their policies and procedures are always changing because they can never get them right so half the time you don’t know what you’re supposed to do. The training on their systems is absolutely awful so you spend most your time spending your wheels trying to get your work done in a timely and efficient manner, but it’s impossible to do so.  The “Head of People” is nothing more than the firms whipping post for employees who are disgruntled about what the firm is doing. They absolutely powerless to do anything and ineffective and non-responsive to employee concerns and getting anything done on behalf of employees. There are no good perks or incentives to this job at all no matter how hard you work.  They are only concerned about social media presence, and that shows and how they pay the social media people. They create positions that are not needed and non-effective.  So if you’re a 20 something-year-old getting ready to apply to this job thinking it sounds great don’t bother. Don’t waste your time and go back to college!!

This place does NOT care about their employees. You are expected to be perfect after 5 days of watching videos and going through a binder with A LOT of misinformation that they “haven’t gotten the chance to update.” You’re stuck in your seat except for your designated breaks. They come up with different policies for you to continuously sign. They are rude and treat their employees horrible. You aren’t allowed days off unless you notify 14 days in advance and this includes doctors appointments. They spam call people all day everyday and if you don’t do it they write you up. They tell you to use slack if you have any questions but NO ONE answers their slack messages so now your stuck and can’t get up to ask for help cause your only allowed DND 1:38(an hour for lunch break, (2 )15-mins and an additional 8mins of “free time.” The team leads and trainers act like they’re better than you because they have a title behind their name. I would NOT recommend this job for anyone not even teens who are trying to gain experience. Oh and healthcare coverage for a family is $500 biweekly.

I gained valuable experience and built meaningful relationships with many of my coworkers. However, the workplace culture often felt influenced by favoritism, with opportunities, recognition, and treatment not always being applied consistently across employees. The mental workload was very heavy at times due to unrealistic expectations and limited support, which could lead to burnout. While the intake team played a critical role in the company’s success, those contributions did not always feel fully recognized. Better communication, fair and transparent leadership practices, and stronger employee support would significantly improve the overall work environment 

Very stressful job and they don’t really care about their employees. Everyone thinks they’re better than everyone else and as soon as I had to start seeing multiple doctors for my high risk pregnancy, they started treating me differently. They only allow you to go to the restroom during your two fifteen minute breaks (if you’re not too busy to be able to take them) and during your lunch break. I hadn’t even completed my 90 days and they started writing me up continuously before I even completed my 30 days. For doing stuff they told me to do and then didn’t tell me about the change they made. I was so mentally done by the time I got home, I literally couldn’t do anything else. They are not understanding and the cram everything into a few days of actual orientation and expect you to be perfect by the time you answer the phone the first time. I didn’t mind the work and it wouldn’t have been so draining if managers and leads were better people. 

While the organization offers reasonable pay and working hours, the executive leadership team needs a reality check.

Employees are considered incompetent, careless, and lazy if they are not producing for this company. While that may be true for a few individuals and inevitable in some situations, it is unrealistic and a lazy approach to addressing organizational failures.

Mr. Shunnarah relies heavily on feedback from his executive leadership team, which includes individuals who operate on emotion rather than facts. 

I can only hope that leadership takes accountability and improves the culture for future employees.

The work is not hard but you will have to learn it all on your own. Everything was fine until they hired someone as Head of People (fancy term for HR) to intimidate and control the employees. They don't give raises and have no respect for long term employees - most who now make less than new hires with no experience because they refuse to pay anyone what they deserve to be paid. It used to be a great place to work with a great environment but Head of People changed all that.  Low morale, no forgiveness when things come up, no room for advancement, no job performance reviews to even know if you are doing the right thing. Mostly just concerned with how many cases they can get signed.

Working there from home started off nice but quickly changed as they began to write everyone up for every single mistake that was supposed to be explained to us in training. But it wasn’t. We were thrown on the phones with very little training and given a handbook and basically told good luck. We were told a mixed array of information and blamed when we were told the wrong information. Trying to get help while on a call was difficult. Trying to get a question answered was also time consuming, and often times not accurate when there was a response. Overall it was not a well executed or organized position . And the attitudes of the trainers and leads left much to be desired. 

I work on a great team and like working for this firm. I enjoy getting to help clients and build relationships with them. We all work really hard to help people. We work typical business hours and are pretty busy every day. The lawyer I work for is one of the best bosses I've ever had, and everyone I've met at the firm is friendly and helpful. Our team goes to lunch or orders lunch in once or twice a week. We all work together very well.

The most enjoyable part of my job is talking to clients and working with the people on my team.
