First round was a 30 minute interview with the CFO, afterwards they require three professional references past managers or team leads only. After references are cleared final round interview is with the CFO, COO, CEO, their accountant and current payroll coordinator. The interview it self was conversational and went well. They all expressed their concerns with the current state of where their payroll tax and compliance issues are. They’re unhappy with their current provider, looking to transition or renegotiate their current contract with their provider due to penalties and liens they have. Exciting problems to solve, their current team doesn’t have the bandwidth to manage their current compliance needs. Received an offer, but declined because the offer was structured in a way that just didn’t make sense to me. The compensation package was below the compensation range that was posted in the ad as well as the range that was confirmed by the recruiter when scheduling the initial interview. 2 weeks PTO is accrued, not allowed to take any PTO first six months and only 2 sick days. First job offer I received like this. Huge red flag to me and wasn’t worth going back and forth to negotiate. (In my perspective) 

All in all the experience was smooth, the team and office was really nice. Great opportunity for payroll compliance enthusiasts who enjoy clean up projects and establishing organized processes. Good for someone who lives in NJ and wants to work in office full time. Not enticing for someone commuting from the city, comes from a hybrid/remote role and is use to all the bells and whistles like unlimited pto, stipends, flexible work schedules, remote/hybrid. 

I worked on the finance team at All Shifts and faced significant challenges due to a lack of employee support and a hostile work environment. Despite managing payroll for over 600 employees and handling various administrative tasks, I received minimal training. Many tasks were left for me to figure out independently, and requests for clarification were often met with frustration from management. Expectations were unclear, which made daily responsibilities unnecessarily stressful.
In my final months, I was required to work a demanding 7-day schedule without overtime pay, including a week of 50 hours with no additional compensation or time off. Requests for increased staffing and reasonable adjustments to pay were ignored, contributing to a sense that employee well-being was not a priority.
The high turnover rate at the company is reflective of these issues. While the company does respond to reviews, their responses often dismiss valid feedback rather than addressing it constructively. Based on my experience, the company would benefit from improving employee support and creating a healthier workplace culture.

Working through AllShifts is really what you make of it. Speaking for the company themselves, they have higher pay than other agency apps, they are quick to respond on the in app chat support and phone calls (even on overnight shifts!!) The next day pay is a reliable option or weekly pay. The timesheets are easy to fill out and send to management. There is not minimum or maximum hours needed to stay employed. If life gets a bit overwhelming you can choose to not book shifts for a while. There is a large selection of nursing homes and if there is ever an issue, AllShifts will have your back. They are strict on their attendance and call off policy (it is fair what their terms are though) but this makes it so facilities know that staff through this agency are reliable and trustworthy and it makes it easier on you because in house staff and management are often nicer to you than those who may come in from less reliable companies. Overall I am grateful to be with AllShifts, even if it's no longer my main income, I still keep up with my credentials and know I can pick up an extra shift here or there for some extra money with unexpected expenses or holidays!

A typical day of work here is very high volume and hands on so I loved that my days went by fast because I was always busy. I learned in 4 months that anyone hired for the “in person” position doesn’t last past a year and they’ve had an office for about 3 years. They expect you to dedicate your entire life to the account management role to make them money and if you have the smallest hick up you’re already out the door. If you’re looking for stability, this is not the place for you. 
It doesn’t matter how hard you work or what you sacrifice, it’s not enough in their eyes. AllShifts  plays musical chairs with their staff office seating every two months like a sick squid game. to see who will be the next elimination. Protect your mental health for your own good ! 

Nothing really good to say about this company. Pay is disrespectful, benefits are only available after a probation period and the sign up for such benefits only occur once a year so good luck getting insurance if your probation ends after the sign up date. Poor direction from management, dirty work environment, open office setup that allows no privacy whatsoever, and absolutely no job security here. Couldn't even claim unemployment benefits because they will file objections regardless of the reason for firing. It's in the contract you sign when employeed, they can fire you without cause whenever they feel like it, but you have the freedom to quit whenever without having to give 2 weeks. Overall, I was miserable here and don't regret getting fired for having a disagreement with my manager.  

If you read through the rest of the reviews, everything is 100% accurate and it seems that they are continuing this pattern training is only three days and they push you straight into the  very aggressive workload which they do not provide a set day to day schedule or quota, Just 20+ task you’re supposed to get down packed. You’re second week in they try to pressure you into the poorly salaried account management position and tell you that you’ve been doing great . If you show desire to stay in the hourly assistant position, they completely lose interest in you stop checking in and find ways to terminate. Coming in my first week and being warned by multiple employees( who are planning to leave the company) who have been there for years was very alarming and to see this company true colors within two weeks was disturbing and a traumatizing experience for someone who would like to be in the recruitment field. Overall do not recommend!

What is the best part of working at the company?
All shift always has open shifts, you can set a schedule with different facilities, and they pay bonus for last minute shift pick ups! Submit your timesheet in time, you will be paid the next day! Worker a certain amount of hours, you receive a cash reward. Amazing company !

The most stressful part is the timing of your manager line, they might not be available, but there is a number to call for emergencies

Depends on the facility you are booked to. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You can request shift in advance, you can withdraw or even cancel if an emergency. Fulfill your healthcare duty per facility request

The overall work environment was very discouraging. I often felt undervalued, and there was a noticeable lack of support from leadership. At times, I felt dismissed because of my age, which made it difficult to feel respected in my role.

There was frequent micromanagement, and a clear pattern of favoritism that affected morale and team dynamics. Concerns were not taken seriously, and feedback often went ignored.

The turnover rate is extremely high as each week, new candidates were being brought in for interviews in groups, which was unusual and added to the sense of instability.

Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling unmotivated and unappreciated. I would encourage job seekers to ask thoughtful questions during the interview process and consider whether this environment aligns with their values and goals.

All in all, it is a good company to work for. You can work as much as you want. They usually contract with reputable facilities that are in dire need of staffing. So in my personal experience the original facility staff was very helpful and grateful to me. The pay is decent. I've never had a problem with contacting HR or management directly, they typically respond within a few minutes, and have been very polite and helpful. 

My time at AllShifts was deeply disappointing. I joined as a recruiter and was optimistic at first, but the environment quickly became toxic. Management frequently terminated employees without proper justification or warning, creating a culture of fear and instability. Constructive feedback was often replaced with public reprimands, and rather than fostering growth, leadership undermined team morale. Ultimately, our recruitment team was given an ultimatum: either sign a social media agreement or face termination. This pressure was unprofessional and unethical. Employees were essentially forced to choose between their autonomy and their jobs. I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking a supportive or respectful workplace.
