I liked the two supervisors whom I reported to. They made it a point to be supportive and available to new hires, which was appreciated. 

The environment in their cleanroom was extremely poor. A significant number of people walk around what is supposed to be an aseptic environment with their noses sticking out of their surgical masks which not only puts their product (and future patients) at risk - we're in the middle of a global pandemic, and they had at least one employee who tested positive for Coronavirus. The company took strong precautions, but many of their manufacturing technicians failed to execute the plan. 

I'm an adult and understand that - as human beings - we curse when we're frustrated etc., but while people openly greeting each other using racial slurs, and having overtly graphic and sexually-charged conversations (what I heard two women say back and forth to each other on a daily basis was mind-blowing) at top volume doesn't offend me, I think it speaks to your level of professionalism and the degree to which you take your job seriously.  

Combined with what I felt were extremely poor work practices, I simply couldn't justify working there. I participated in a weekly cleaning, and the amount of human tissue underneath the bottom of the Bio Safety Cabinets was disturbing. Obviously they've been in business for some time, and are having some degree of success with what they do, but I was extremely uncomfortable with it. 

After experiencing their process-approach, I would not want Allergan tissue transplanted into me, or anyone I care about. 

Never received my first paycheck. The first check was to be live - it took three weeks for me to receive it in the mail, and I live 50 miles away.

I contacted HR to merely ASK about the possibility of them cancelling the check and executing direct deposit, when they told me that would take an additional 5 days - I opted to continue to wait and see if it showed up in the mail. They took the initiative and - with no go-ahead from me - cancelled the check.

It's basic communication, and they just didn't seem to be on the ball. 

I was never re-issued my first paycheck. 

I will reach out to the Department of Labor to see what my options are - in the event they can legally deny me the funds, no regrets. I'll chalk it up to experience. 

I'm grateful that they extended an opportunity, but it's not a work environment that I'm comfortable with.

My departure from Allergan was to relocate back to San Diego and ensure the health and wellness for my mother.  It was what I needed to do at this time in her life.

I was passionate about my position at Allergan.  Over the years, I became a subject matter expert of people.  I was very successful in identifying the perfect fit for the specific needs of Allergan's internal customers; the 6 therapeutic areas.  Candidates need not possess clinical experience, rather, excellent computer skills, a positive demeanor, the ability to communicate and the passion to learn about the drug development cycle.  I did the rest.

I identified items necessary for the Clinical Project Assistants to excel and in doing so, created the entire training curriculum for the position.  I started with 5 Clinical Project Assistants who supported 3 therapeutic areas.  When I left Allergan, there were 34 individuals functioning as Clinical Project Assistants, the therapeutic areas had promoted into their groups, over 35 CPAs, and I had hired and trained over 75 individuals personally.  

My days were spent training and mentoring the team, meeting with senior management in TAs to discuss needs, improve processes specific to tasks at hand, serve as the liaison to all cross functional departments with which we worked, meet with direct manager to discuss process improvement, implement changes, evaluate performance of team.

The hardest part of my job was to identify 1 stellar individual when only 1 advanced position was available.  Given I trained them and although there are different learning curves for everyone, I was confident who ever was placed in that position, would thrive.

I believe I was highly respected within my group, the TAs, as well as the cross functional departments.  I felt as comfortable speaking with my peers as I did presenting to senior management.

The goal at Allergan is to offer patients and healthcare providers the best medications in various therapeutic areas. I enjoyed working at Allergan because of the corporate culture, amazing management and my team was nothing short of exceptional. As a Territory Representative, I had to meet certain KPI's, however, I knew every call to a provider boiled down to quality over quantity. This was re-iterated by management as well, which made my day-to-day duties less stressful because I knew I was empowered to make impact and be bold in my sales calls. I learned that gone are the days of just speaking with prescribers to seal the deal. The total office call was just as important, and this included pharmacy calls and relationships. The hardest part of my job was overcoming objections dealing with managed care and insurance plans/coverage. It was tough getting my branded medications approved under specific plans where coverage was not accepted, however, with a strong team working diligently for these patients, we were able to win some battles. Of course, you can't win them all but we sure did try our best to do so. Although a typical day consisted of driving to medical offices and promoting my products, which may sound mundane, it was definitely short of that. Every single day brought on new experiences and challenges, which made my job even that more interesting and worthwhile.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people were great and the cafeteria was excellent but the temp agency we had to go thru was harsh and it was hard to get permanent status unless you were a favorite person . I was there about 3 yrs and saw people get full time status within 1 year . If you could get hired  directly it would be better and the pay was average bout below other cities like Austin TX.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The days and the hours long 12 hrs a day.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A lot of smart people  but not enough train managers so people had to step up and learn other jobs and pay did not always reflect their worth. Sometimes other individuals got hired outside the temp agency like direct and it was not fair to us who were there longer and working hard but no promotion.  So I was frustrated and was let go because the temp agency manager did not care about my future but I fought for my rights and won compensation. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It usually started with getting the machines started and the processing managers had to program the language in the system and figure out the technical problems. Then we would process the product into the right boxes and seal them and stack them on to pallet according to dimensions example 6 ×5 .

I love being a Specialty Rep! With this company, I was able to call on Urology physicians and learned a ton of new things! A new system of the body, four new productive and efficacious products, new management and new team members.  
A typical day for me started in a specific region of my territory, which encompassed Brooksville to Clearwater and as far as Lakeland, usually at a Starbucks to get coffee and pastries for some offices that morning (they LOVE it when you do that!); headed in to do total office calls and to see the Dr's to detail them on my products, answer any questions and to ask for the business.  Depending on whether or not I had a lunch that day, I would usually use that down time to travel to my next office, make any phone calls I needed to and finish the rest of my day afterwards.
The hardest part of my job was the integration of several new companies that were purchased by Actavis within 8 months of my employment, although I was able to sharpen my skills by being able to adapt and overcome any new challenges they presented.
The most enjoyable part of my job was definitely experiencing my Dr's offices.  I love doing what I do every day and the relationships I was able to establish with them was truly fulfilling for me.

Scheduling and assigning the analysis of stability samples and maintaining the stability database. Supported research and development production with releasing of final ANDA batches and regulatory for application of new product.
• Reviewed and evaluated current analyzed reports to improve accuracy, precision, and sensitivity for formulation conditions and acceptability to regulatory agencies.
• Assembled and correlated in preparation of validated methods, data and documents.
• Reviewed data in notebook, reports and protocols for release, calibration of Instrument and Method Validation of Various Products.
• Introduced Stability Software Version 6.2.1 database and trained four analysts.

I called on primarily ophthamologists and some optometrists selling glaucoma topical medications. On a daily basis, after analyzing reports and company initiatives, I would create clinical dialogue with the techs and physicians and where Allergan products best fit in their practice. Heavy involvement with techs and staff on their electronic RX systems to ensure correct products were dispensed from pharmacies. I worked with another wonderful counterpart on a daily basis ensuring we were in sync to enhance high sales success. 

Hardest part of the job was dealing with ACO's and IPA's that heavily influence doctors to prescribe more generics or they will be penalized and possibly not receive their annual bonus. 

Best part of my job was selling to ophthamologists and optometrists with the best products on the market. I also loved how much Allergan management was involved in our developement and we sold clinically every day all day. Made my job very interesting by having a more diverse understanding of glaucoma and other ophthamology diseases and technology to treat patients.

Lots of due diligence to cover in a days work. Which is something I feel proud to accomplish at the end of the day. Enjoy dealing and working with onboarding new employees and educating them with company policies. As I workong h the recruitment side it is also an enjoyable experience coordinating and bringing candidates in from the outside.

I have learned what key words to look for when sourcing and recuriting for a role withing the company. As well as read assessments given to know a candidates strengths and weaknesses in order to have them elaborate.

Management had fluctuated as I have changed managers in a course of 8 months being employed with the company. The structure is always changing.

The challenging part of the job is finding the tools needed to get the job done. Not very smooth and efficient when you are uncertain on where to run for the resources you need to complete a task, whether it is system related or data accuracy information.

The enjoyable part of the job is the perks of acknowledging and celebrating monthly birthdays, summer friday half days, pleasant group of collegues.

Allergan is a terrific company with regards to the neuroscience division.  Botox is a tremendous product for their therapeutic indications, more specifically Chronic Migraine.  The direction of the company has become much more focused over the last 15 years.  Allergan is a wonderful company to work for, where I have developed great relations with many individuals.  

Calling on key injectors in multiple cities.  The expectations from Allergan management is 6.5 call per day, which I exceeded.

I learned how to evaluate situations which included; Sales data, understanding the color profiles of each office to effectively communicate with specific offices/individuals and forecasting sales results.
My co-workers have been wonderful.  I have developed many lasting relationships with many individuals.
The most difficult part of the job is at times, excessive administrative work with a short turnaround.  
I enjoy selling Botox because of the benefits to patients, and listening to patients who rave about life changing results based on their therapy
