I feel that the intentions are honest but the execution is poor. Treated too much like a business when the mission is to help the clients. The purpose of the company is to help these families and to teach the clients, but employees are minimally trained unless they ask for help and resources are never really provided! No stimuli provided and if it is then it’s something provided by another employee… we work with kids and are supposed to teach them life skills and adjust behaviors but we are not given anything to help do that. I pay out of pocket for stimuli, this includes an iPad, all the apps that I find help in implementing treatment (no recommendations from company), I buy stimuli, materials for activities and for rapport building. No recognition is given for going above and beyond, no recognition is given when parents say they are seeing improvement they haven’t seen in years with prior providers. The company does not do a great job at keeping in touch or seeing if there is assistance needed, and supervisors are swamped passed a reasonable amount of work so a lot of stuff is overlooked. Overall the work has been rewarding enough (client progress) to make up for the terrors of the job, but for someone coming into the company I hope they aren’t expecting to have their work recognized by management or their efforts to go above and beyond to be praised… just put your heart into it, make a low amount of money and spend most of it to do the job, welcome to the life of a broke teacher. 

A typical day at work involves greeting the client, building rapport, and guiding them through structured activities such as listening skills, following multi-step instructions, joint play, and skill-building tasks. I observe their behavior, provide support when needed, and reinforce positive engagement.
Through this role, I’ve learned patience, adaptability, and how to apply ABA strategies effectively while tailoring instruction to individual needs.
Management is supportive, provides clear expectations, and offers helpful resources. The workplace culture is collaborative, positive, and focused on client success.
The hardest part of the job is keeping a client motivated during non-preferred tasks, which requires creativity and consistency.
The most enjoyable part is seeing progress—whether in communication, engagement, or independence—and knowing I played a part in their growth.

Interview process was straightforward. Available hours were very limited, and the role required commuting as far as 30 minutes and close locations, which did not feel worthwhile given the schedule. If parents or caregivers canceled last minute, there appeared to be little protection for that lost time. I completed online training only and did not move forward beyond that.

I was also asked to sign declination paperwork that, in my understanding, did not reflect my situation. When I raised concerns and requested clarification, HR’s response was vague and did not fully address my questions. Even after, the topic was repeatedly brought up by supervisors. This made me uncomfortable, and I chose not to proceed. I recommend that applicants carefully review any paperwork and seek clarification or independent advice if something does not seem right.

Used to be a great place to work before it got bought out. The company is constantly saying they're adjusting policies, and either never changes them, or when they do, it's for the worse. It used to be a company that cared about the quality of service, with the new CEO, that's changing. Now, it's quantity. 
You'd think bonus structure changes would be formally written and accepted between all parties too but that didn't happen. 
New management expects high numbers when they lack the ability and resources to actually bring those numbers in.. New management is also condescending. Verbal praise is sometimes given, but want a pay raise? Think again. No formal annual reviews are in place either which is their excuse for not raising your pay.  Oh, and HR benefit changes get annnounced a month already into the new year!! With old benefits not being given a chance to be used. PTO policy stinks.  Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. 

Because of the field we serve, the typical work day is far from "typical."
It is not a 9am-5pm type of job.
There is flexibility and one must be a self starter, able to manage a proper work schedule without a lot of direct supervision.
My colleagues are cool. With colleagues that stay with the company there is an unspoken bond between us. Likewise, we are always available to provide support to new employees.
The hardest part of the job is not being able to control fidelity of the  treatment in between sessions as some clients only get what we are able to provide.
Additionally, some of the employees have signed on and end up being "temporary" which appears to be detrimental to the clientele when they (temporary employee) leave the company.
It is rewarding to see clients make progress and improve their lives.

To be honest, I applied here because of the pay. Quickly, I learned that it is not worth anything. You will do most of the work. You will be required to write an assessment for Regional Center to keep or increase the hours for your kiddos. Your supervisor doesn't provide you with materials (tact cards, schedules, etc) or toys, you will need to create those or buy those yourself (my previous company provided those). You will have to report to your main supervisor but won't provide much feedback or supervision (HE called me only when there was a billing problem). It took three weeks for me to start working from training. There are better companies that will treat you with respect.

Everyone is supportive when issues arise. Leadership takes your feedback into account as long as you have data to back what youre saying. This makes sense given we are in a data driven field.
Alora is ethical, allows for BCBAs to make recommendations of hours for each case such as reducing or increasing hours as needed. Provides safety care training for BTs on an ongoing basis.
All BTs get an IPAD for data collection. BCBAs get a work laptop

My experience working with Alora has been great! Flexible schedule, you basically find clients that fit with your schedule although morning shifts are limited but thats with almost every ABA company due to kids being in school. Directors are absent and only contact you when missing notes or sessions. No support or guidance at all, basically figure everything out on your own. But it is manageable and you get some raises throughout your time working there! 

Well, to keep it short.... anyone who works in this field should definitely be paid more than 25 an hour.... It is not easy and is very stressful. HR Management only checks with you when they need something turned in or fixed. The communication is terrible. A handful of supervisors are great. No training has been provided for telehealth since Covid occurred. A lot needs to be done and changed for this company. 

I worked here for 8 years as a CS. I met some amazing people and helped change the lives of many families and individuals. The great thing about this company and the worst at the same time is that you make your own schedule. However, it is difficult when staff doesn't communicate a change in their schedule.
