After spending my entire nursing career (15 plus years) within the hospital setting, rewarded by the work I was doing but constantly saddled with increasing work demands and decreasing appreciation and pay - Altus Infusion was akin to coming out from the darkness into the light.  Never have I felt more appreciated as an employee and individual. The company culture is one of family and fun with the appropriate amount of gravitas needed to succeed in creating one of the fastest growing Infusion companies in the U.S. My pay and incentives have been more than fair since I have begun my employment and the management team is constantly finding new ways to appreciate and reward their staff.  The success of the company is truly shared throughout the rank and file.
I have had several opportunities in my time with the company, including being the primary infusion nurse responsible for my own clinic, as well as, a traveling nurse tasked with walking into other nurse's clinics and provide our services to their patients for a day or several.  Every single experience has been overwhelmingly positive. From the direct patient care, the physician partners, the admin team responsible for verifying benefits, to the directors of nursing that I may need to speak with should any issues arise. This is not an attempt to whitewash the reality that in any job or circumstance in life, unfortunate things happen or go wrong...but rather to posit that the good has outweighed the bad to a ridiculous degree.  The worst of my experiences have been confined to difficult patients (shocking...I'm a nurse) and long travel days from time to time (shocking...I took a job that requires me to travel).  But overall...best work experience I've had in my 20+ years of being an employee.  Maybe there's a better working environment/company out there but I've yet to hear of it.

I have seen the company grow and there has been a lot of new jobs, we even moved into newer office space. There has also been more accountability and bonuses, which I like. It is frustrating when you feel you are doing more work than others and that those people get away with it, I don't see a lot of that here. Everyone has rules that apply to them and if you are doing your job, you won't have an issue. 

The leadership team is all about family first and work life balance, with a great appreciation for employees. The company has provided massages, tailgate parties, holiday parties, and many other activities to show appreciation to us. The management also supports giving back and has hosted blood drives, food drives, and sponsoring charity events. I feel like the management team cares about me, takes interest in my success and does what they can to make this a fun place to work. 

I have seen the  negative comments and can say that is not my experience. I have also seen some of the trouble making groups in the office who never have a positive thing to say or contribute, but just complain. I have seen the same in other places I worked and try to avoid them because they just make everyone unhappy. I think if they are that unhappy, they should look elsewhere and quit bringing others down. All jobs have issues, but sometimes the issue is a bad apple spoiling the bunch.

The only negative I can think of is that our holiday schedule for this year changed, but I still get more paid holidays here than I did at other jobs. Pay could be better too, but I like not having to drive into Houston traffic.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Treatments getting hung up in preauth and verification of benefits. Also staff turnover. I got a new manager tgat would talk to me with a full mouth and apathetic to concerns

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Uncertainty. The turnover in most dept was bad. Having to be responsible for the infusions AS well as building Echarts for new paitents and daily handling admin tasks like denials preAUTHs VOB tasks which took so much time…. Then there was always a push to squeeze more patients in yet no overtime acceptable

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in, med count, refrigerator check, get ready for patients, do patients, order supplies snacks inbetween, check spp and free drug availability,

When patients done, do new admitts patients, check all EMessages and resolve denials. Put new meds in

This company is poorly managed, extremely unprofessional, and lacks integrity. There is a high turnover rate in upper management  that inevitably causes low production and lack of loyalty to hard working employees with tenure. If you feel you are treated unfairly or inappropriately by your supervisor or manager, you can forget about taking your concerns to HR. Over my short employment with Altus Biologics, I witnessed several colleagues leave the company due to the lack of help from HR. The only thing HR does for its employees is damage control. They will "open a case" by calling you or set up an in person meeting to "discuss the case" then proceed to "close the case" as "it's been discussed; therefore, the issue is resolved." No action required. HR is a joke. The lack of empathy and/ or sympathy and blatant disregard this company exudes towards their employees is deplorable. I highly DO NOT recommend Altus Biologics. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Infusing patients via IV/chest port/Injection/Picc Line, with Biologicals for autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Chrons disease, Lupus, and Osteoarthritis.  Lab draws from chest ports and reviewing all labs prior to infusion. Following all policies and procedures that are set in place by the Infusion clinic as well as Altus Infusion.  Ordering all the supplies and medications for the infusion suite.  	

Hardest part of the job was the company being based out of Texas so any immediate issues we needed taken care of were not done in a timely manner. The most enjoyable part of the job was treating the patients and seeing the true progress of their disease being treated.

I love this company!  I plan to retire here.  I feel appreciated for the work I do and am well compensated for it.  Owners genuinely care for the patients and the staff that takes care of those patients. I've learned so much about managing a team and am continuing to learn more every day.  I feel Altus has taken me under their wing and taken me on a journey that is limitless. 

The Altus nurses are highly skilled and are driven to succeed and strive for excellence.  There are many opportunities for development and travel.  With this company's growth there are increasing advancement opportunities as well.

The hardest part of this job is dealing with insurance companies and other barriers to patient care. The best part?  Happy patients and happy co-workers!

extremly high turnover rate, less than the bare minimum pay for all hourly employees. will tack on extreme amounts of work with no compensation. Absolutly no raises, the most Ive gotten in the last 4.5 years of an annual merit was 1 whole quarter per hour and that was on the high end. You cannot and will not advance here unless you are in the top 3% of employees. Terrible everything all around, I do not recommend working here unless you dont qualify for anything else whatsoever. The interview i had was a group interview of 10-15 ppl and ONLY IF you wanted to answer you raised your hand. You couldve stayed silent and gotten the job. Thats how bad they need people bc everyone leaves within months or less than a year of working here. 

Altus is based outside of Houston. Many meetings are held there and you can attend them if you live in the Houston area. They look down on advanced degrees as they do not want to pay an advanced practitioner. LPN's are used quite a bit. Physicians sign off for the LPN's because there are many states that they cannot be an infusion nurse; but if the MD signs off for them, he is signing his license away on their completing their infusions properly. Unfortunately, if you have an LPN cover for you, you may find complaints when you return from your patients due to the lack of knowledge regarding medication-infused and placing IV's.  Their EMDR system is a click template. The organization does not encourage assessment; you click the patient had an IV placed them infused and then deacessed.

Altus Biologics has honestly been my favorite company to work for so far. They don’t micro manage as long as your work is being completed. The work load is fair as long as staffing is full, you may be assigned to over look another site if someone quits or advances to another position but it usually isn’t for long. They supply lunch during training which is a plus & provide equipment for in office as well as home. My only advice is to negotiate a good starting rate because the annual raises aren’t much but there is room to advance every now & then. I love the hybrid schedule as well, you aren’t monitored.

This was not a good experience. There was very high turnover with people no notice resigning weekly. The training was inadequate and no policies, procedures nor benchmarks were in place

High turnover. The leadership spoke to people like they weren’t people. No policies in place no benchmarks.

HORRIBLE  people are constantly quitting or getting fired. The reps workload is unbearable.

More meetings than there were hours in the day. My day was completely overwhelming
