What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being a Business Coordinator can be stressful at times, especially when managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines. However, I’ve learned a lot from working in a fast-paced environment. My team leader is very direct and clear in communication, which helps me understand expectations and stay focused. I appreciate that clarity because it allows me to improve and handle challenges more effectively. Additionally, my coworkers are always supportive and willing to help when things get busy. Having a strong, collaborative team makes even the most stressful days manageable and rewarding.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Working at Americare has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The workplace is truly diverse, bringing together people from many different cultures and backgrounds. That diversity creates a rich, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and included.

I worked for Americare Css agency,I was based at an (ACF) adult care facility in Coney Isl Brooklyn,NY,The majority of clients at this particular ACF have mental illness in conjunction with medical conditions ie, Diabetes,various types of wounds,and other dx that require skilled nsg services.A typical day would consist of seeing ones caseload of clients.The days are very busy.The diabetic clients are seen before breakfast for blood glucose monitoring,insulin administration,v/s and teaching etc.Several clients are seen up to 3x/day for BGM and insulin admin.there are clients with wounds which required various types of wound care,Many psych clients are administered  decanoates ie,Haldol.Prolixin IM .I worked with clients who were MLTC managed care where UAS's were needed,All clients on Americare's program are required to have Oasis done for SOC,recerts,D/C etc,Because this was an ALP facility I did numerous UAS's for client's ALP eligibility,I got along well with coworkers,even though we didn't all work for same company,there is a lot of collaboration/coordination needed for clients proper care,One of the hardest parts of the job are many unforeseen things that arise numerous complaints and assessing if complaints are founded or unfounded due to the mentally ill population.The most enjoyable part of this job is making a difference in a persons life,having the client trust me and come to me for help,advise,etc.and many of these people really appreciate me.

•	Conducted benefit portion of new hire orientation 
•	Daily administration of all benefit enrollments, terminations and changes while coordinated with payroll department for proper deductions 
•	Processed all Leave of Absences, Disability, Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, Cobra, Commuter Account and health insurance claims, while maintaining confidentiality of employees and records and applicable state and federal laws
•	Administered and responsible for entire process of Commuter Reimbursement, Cell Phone & Travel Allowance, STD, LTD & Life Insurance for employees
•	Served as liaison between employee, state insurance companies and consultants and remained updated on HIPPA, COBRA, FMLA regulations as well as new laws 
•	Responsible for keeping track of all types of leaves, enrollments, terminations, accident reports, benefit payments due on company HRIS and notified the supervisor of the status of each case 
•	Filled in for Director’s Executive Assistant while out
•	Assisted with payroll, recruiting, reception and compliance when needed


A typical day at work would be answering and screening telephone calls, filing, Xeroxing, scanning,creating charts and daily reports. Reports that show outstanding work and updating reports created in Microsoft word or excel. Also updating reports for vender invoices.  I learned everything very quickly. My knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel became more advanced. The management was very fair. They were willing to work with you in the event of emergencies. They often asked co-workers to take on extra work if they needed any help. MY co-workers were a very good team. We all had a very good sense of humor. We worked as a team to get work completed. We created a good workplace for ourselves. The hardest part was when I would be trained in something new. Everything I was trained in I picked up quickly. I also enjoyed working with all my co-workers. Whether it would be the co-workers in the office or the Nurses who came in with their work. I also enjoyed speaking to the Nurses if they needed my assistance in anything. Also getting to meet new people who would come into the office to deliver a package.

I had thus far great home welcoming & working experiences, at AmeriCare, although home isn't always play & a lot of work, I appreciate working for home too home. a typical day for me starts around 10am, being a mother of a 5 year old, Work comes with the same experiences & responsibilities  that I deal with at home. Before I could work, I was already experienced and grew up taking care of my mother every time she was sick or hospitalized & before working as a HHA, I trained 5 weeks & was tought different mental deaseases & health illnesses & how to target & treat the problem. Managment for me comes right from home, if you manage everything from home, you can do it anywhere else. The hardest part of the Job is learning how to work fast and afficiently when under pressure by patients. Learning from where to start & finish & to make your work  as comfortable for the patient as possible. The most enjoyable part is the Jon itself, taking care and making sure the paitnents are completely taking cared of and comfortable.

Service coordinators were treated like the bottom of the food chain, even though we’d be the ones putting in the most work, some day I would leave at 8 pm and hear that the night before they left at 10 pm. Sure it was mostly on us to staff our case and if we stay long it’s our fault right. But when we have to cover someone else’s cases or we have to “help” someone staff a LIVE IN case for TOMORROW of course noone is going to want to do it, really irritating when I had to help others do that. Managers just expect you to help, like no that’s what you’re here for. I staffed my cases, I’m done I’m going home. Most difficult part was feeling like I never saw my family anymore I’d get home and literally cry, money didn’t even matter anymore. My breaking point was when I went through a miscarriage because of this job. I had to leave immediately.

Met a handful of wonderful people.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
EVERYTHING, down to the never ending phone calls, the supervisors would never do their jobs, coordinators never answered there phones, made the reception job 10x more stressful and more work than what it should be. A lot of the workers in there are very rude not only to their own peers, but to patients and Aides working there. The company never pays their workers what they are supposed to be getting paid weekly! Resulting in the Aides coming into the office and getting very aggressive and VIOLENT (literally) Just awful.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Just overall stressful, handful of people you will meet who are very nice people. Everyone else just very rude and entitled. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Non-stop phone calls for 8 hours of angry & yelling patients/aides.

It can be a very stressful environment due to lack of staffing;very knowledgeable nurses and eager to assist and train in whatever area necessary.I will always be greatful for working there; I have learned alot about home care.I learned time management and how to be efficient in my duties/responsibilites.Management staff I believe should be a bit more patient and understanding with the nurses who though complain of being overwhelmed,give a 100 plus to their patients.The hardest part is not being able to do more for who depends on 'us'.The most enjoyable is still being able to smile and feel good inside when you know you work with great staff and you're able to care for others safely, despite any adversity or challenge that may come your way.

My usual day consists of reviewing of reports and daily goals; interacting with the staff and assisting with any problems. My management staff and I meet on a weekly basis in order to keep on top of our workflow and maintain a level of quality in dealing with our patients and their families. I meet with the President and COO on a twice monthly basis to report on the status of the company that I run. I am pleased with the overall company that I run. I have always felt that the regulations and processes are a very important aspect of a company and it enables the staff to work in a smooth running and high quality environment.

I job here has been very rewarding  , it is the type of company you grow with many  recognized achievements 
, you have a very supportive administrator who always assist with any issues and helps you solve them in a timely manner you have the ability to advance in this company , they acknowledge you and you get  promotions to a higher level 
Working in Americare is a home away from home I love my bosses I love my in-house and field staff  o just love working in such a pleasant environment
