I worked for AMOT Controls as a scab.....where the union workers were on strike.  After the strike ended I was kept on and made a lead Special Assembler.  Where I learned to build and test the oil valves and different product the company manufactured.  After working in the manufacturing department I was hired by the President of the company to be their communications manager.  I learned a great deal from how to build the product to testing and fixing the machines all the way to do advertising and marketing for the company.  Also edited and maintained the website and literature papers for product.  Was a great place to work.

The experience you can gain working at AMOT is great, just don't expect that experience to advance your career if you stay. If you don't have a degree, they won't promote you, regardless of your experience. Management depends on what department you're in, but if you have a bad manager, don't expect HR or the executives to do anything about it.

It was a good job to have if you need one right away. Worked in assembly and everything was straightforward to learn.  Pay was okay but benefits were good. You learn some things there that could help you in future jobs. A very good entry level job

Really enjoyed the team that I worked with, the product was a great product I learned more than I care to admit about valves, parts the procurement of parts, the credit and RMA process.

A pleasure working for AMOT Controls.  Unfortunately company went out of business.  Co-workers and Manangement was a good group of people who enjoyed their job.  Always promoted good work ethics.

AMOT is a great company.  The only drawback is its dictated by the oil and gas market.  When those are up, the job and company are great and stable.  When they fall layoffs are inevitable.  Just the nature of the oil and gas business.

Management is very visible and present.

No opportunities for advancement. No leadership support.
