Wow, a typical day for me was always different.  In the begining, I started in accounts payable. So it was about coding and entering accounts payable. At the end, I worked with everyone from payables, receivables, contract administration to project managers. I never had a typical day. I could come in one day and help with reconciling an account, then I would be working with corporate to manage the servers and do whatever updates that were needing to be done for the week. 

I learned a whole lot at this company and it was thanks to them staying up with technology and taking the time to train everyone.

My co-workers were the best I have ever worked with. We all knew what we were suppose to do and we all pulled our own weight.  We also were cross trained so we could pitch in and help when needed.

The hardest part of the job was saying good bye when I moved to Texas.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the employees in the field and in house.  Also planning and prepaing company functions such as the company picinics and Christmas parties.

typical day work includes installing drywall and metal framing.  upon first employment they did not issue out a full set of tools which interior and exterior specialists should be issued standard impact drill with drywall gun , router with batteries chargers for said tools. I only received impact with one battery and charger later upon a drywall assignment I had to hunt down tools I should been issued to not waste company time. This is very typical with foremen that have poor organizational skills and lack of communication are put in those positions and are glazed over by the higher ups. Standard PPE required, alongside requirement of safety plugs to be worn during work hours is counter intuitive when you consider having to exchange measurements with your partner and screaming to the point of losing your voice just for the aspect of saving your ears. some can view this as a silly rant mostly because I'm sure they haven't worked a day in the field and push paper. 

A typical day includes stretch and flex, reviewing a safety subject, receiving instructions from the foreman and daily goals. You are required to finish your tasks as fast as you can and hustle. Some of the foremen and journeymen are approachable and you can ask questions and they will guide you through and teach you new things. I have learned construction skills in the areas of metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and others. Not all the foremen and all the journeymen contribute to a positive workplace culture, and they can make the work and the learning process harder. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you are working with a great boss and great partner, you have all the tools and material and available, and you just have to worry about building things and produce.

Que Baso. Its expected in construction but once work gets slow expect to be let go unless you have a friend/family member that has pull at the company. A leadmans nephew was hired as a stocker/scrapper and was jumped to apprentice in about 2 months over 3 others that had way more hours and were overdue for their apprenticeship. I saw 30+ ppl let go in one day while I was there. 
Here it's quantity over quality. 
Still, if you're new and get hired you will meet cool ppl that can teach you things, so ask questions!

I performed mostly a lot of blueprint reading and wall location layouts for high rise projects where there was no room for error due to other trades following behind with extensive mechanical work. Built hospitals and Hotels all in the Chicagoland area. Helped Supervision with pointing out areas of concern in onsite labor and material management on projects exceeding 10 million

Started super early in the morning but would get of early in the afternoon. learned alot about proper power tool usage. Management was tough and ran a tight ship. Just be a hard worker and everything will be fine. co workers were very helpful and made work a little bit fun. hardest part of the job was the early morning start times and shifting different job sites, happend frequently. the most enjoyable was off time was early in the afternoon.

In the early years it was a good place to work & support a family,you still had a lot of the people that started out with the company " old timers." As they retired or were let good due to their older age things began to change. In a nutshell loyalty means nothing to this company. The new younger office don't have a clue what its like to do a physical job 40  Hrs a week. Nor do they have your back, was not like that back in the day.

The opportunity to show what you can do and the push you get to broaden what you know.

Not being the one that has anything to do with the lack of work production.

Safe, welcoming, helping, and productive.

Very productive, safe,  and away an opportunity to learn.

UNION BASED so accepting a job is the only option. Quality is not of importance. It’s based on quantity. Job foreman’s are very clique based. They only hire and keep friends working. Quick to fire if not in the friend circle. FRIEND CIRCLE ONLY. Worst company in my opinion. 
WOULD NOT REFER THIS COMPANY TO WORK FOR!!!  NEVER EVER, EVER!!! 


Fast paced and organized company. I learned Power tool, and Managing a warehouse. My manager was helpful while pushing me to learn criteria. My only co-worker was my Manager, great guy. The hardest part would be when huge orders would come in for the next day. The most enjoyable part would be just working in a great environment and talking to my manager.
