It's not a horrible place to work but it can definitely disrupt your life if not fully staffed. The schedule is pretty undesirable all the "9a-5p" shift are taken by who's been there longest so when you start you'll probably get a wonkey schedule (shifts all over/what's available) it may take a long time for your schedule to straighten out. They are open 24/7 365 days so no holidays off and if you're new you will work them all and if you request it off you wont get it off unless you ask another employee to cover for you and that's nearly impossible cause the schedule is very very tight and there's only like 7 employees. You get paid time off but because of always being short staffed. The company will only hire minimum employees needed at this location so you are 100% NEEDED AT YOUR SHIFT CAUSE YOU MAYBE THE ONLY ONE THERE Working that shift (no coverage cause they avoid overtime) or if your not there it leaves your coworker swamped with calls which makes for long hold times = angry clients and customers and you getting shamed for it. If you have emergencies alot, appointments, get sick easy, really anyone that cant 100% ALWAYS be there for their shift no matter if someone is dying this job isnt for you.. the management is choppy and unprofessional typically just winging it not knowing what their doing themselves most the time. Everyone's pretty busy usually so you have to be a fast learner and self starter cause there's very little training and ALOT to remember. You will be answering calls that require doing various steps for 100+ companies and there's VERY LITTLE room for mistakes you have to be good at attention to detail and following precise instructions. At any moment you can be thrown a new client to answer calls for so you gotta learn fast fast fast. You will deal w ppl that have awful attitudes towards you like pull your hair out attitudes and options on solving those situations the customer is screaming at you for is pretty much 0 cause 98% your the messenger taking the heat for the actual company they are mad at so you have to excel in composure. With only 7 employees in this site you get pretty close and most are nice and personable so if you work in the office it's nice having someone there but some shifts you will be alone (late evening and night shift you are alone) help isnt there at those times so you have to be a quick thinker and problem solver on your own. You will get no raise. They say you will be but you wont unless you are like a perfect perfect employee ( no absences, no mistakes or complaints from costumers or clients ever which is pretty much impossible) and typically only if you're liked by everyone especially the boss which changes often cause GMs dont stay long or they are horrible). One employee has worked there for 20 years and hasn't seen a raise (only if minimum wage changed) someone only working there for 6 weeks was making more than her... they made wage higher to hire a couple employees but didn't even give the ones working there already equal pay.. no one in the office makes the same pay but you all have the same job..  they have benefits but they are not very good very minimum.

workplace culture - Sit down, work hard, hope to keep your head off the chopping block. Management defo has favorites so rules change based on manager preferential treatment. 

the hardest part of the job - The sometimes off the wall questions that you have to ask multiple lines of support for answers to and then get multiple responses and then the severely angry, irate or sexist callers. 

the most enjoyable part of the job - when I would help a caller and explained everything to them in a way they understood and had that AH HA moment. 


PTO is earned based on how many hours you work. I got very sick and had to have a lot of stuff done and ultimately emergency surgery. Management said we could miss time on short notice as long as we were able to make those hours up thru the week without getting an occurrence, later some of us were told that going forward we weren’t allowed to do that or request a day off for any reason unless we had the PTO to cover it. Causing many call outs, which caused write ups because of the occurrence based point system. 

So if you have a health condition (serious mental health issues, physical issues or even autoimmune disorders), take care of literally anyone but yourself, stay away because when you finally do break down and need to get the care you deserve at the doctors or hospital you’re liable to get a final written warning and then they will look for any reason to terminate you. 

I was hired by the company on a project based so if they do not have any work for me, they will simply let me go. The only advantage working for this company is work from home, other than that, NADA. I had a coworker who was mean and I reported it to their “HR” because he was violating work ethics but I did not get a response. They promote supervisors who DO NOT even know what to do and gives misinformation. General manager? You’ll never hear from them again except if they have a new project for you. If they wanted to train for a new project, they will only give you atleast 1 whole day to figure out the softwares and the things you needed to accomplish to the next project which is fine if they are similar, but from my experience, I was transferred to a completely different project. Some of the coworkers were fine and manageable. All I can say is that this company lacks professionalism. I am not there anymore because this job had no security for me. Their health insurance is not really a health insurance so good luck if you needed one. They also deduct pay if you log in late to the softwares but clocked in on time at the punches. They do not really care about their employees. They just get projects then throw them into a pack of wolves when they are put into calls. Then, if you ask them, they do not know what to answer because “it’s just a new project.” Great for temporary but never ever recommended if you wanted to stay at a company for years. But hey atleast they’re flexible with clocking in and out if you have an emergency. 

I don't know about you but, personally when I look for a job and a company. I am not only looking for the right type of work, benefits and a paycheck, I'm looking to make my home in that company.

AnswerNet, at least the branch where I worked, could never be a home. The management does try their best, they are friendly and outgoing and cheer everyone up as much as they can through the day. Again while I was there. 

But at the end of the day, they don't give you pay raises, but do pile on more responsibilities. The hire you for one particular account, but then later train you for others with no further benefits, other than a mounting amount of stress. At times I was placed on accounts that were for telemarketing or sales when at the time of hire we had explicitly agreed that would never be the case.

Last but not least, they try to take advantage of you if you seem too nice or live too close to the branch. Despite whatever verbal agreements you might make with the general manager, they may or may not be honored unless they are firmly written down on paper, in triplicate, signed by the pope, with the blood of... Well... You get the point.

If you need immediate income for approximately a year. This company will be a good perch for you. But I could never consider it a home or somewhere to stay at for very long.

My title line says it all, while not the best, there are definitely worse jobs out there. Career advancement is definitely an opportunity there as there is a fair amount of turn over (some don't like the job and quit, other's graduate college and move on, etc). And while the job itself can be taxing at times, if you work with management (which means actually talking to them, and not just complaining to other co-workers and assuming management will magically know) you can find a way to make it work. 

Is it going to be your dream job? No. 
Is it a stable job so you can get a consistent paycheck? Yes.

Unfortunately it's hard to say what you'll experience working there as it's a call center with a bunch of different account, constantly getting new accounts and occasionally losing older accounts. Even as a shift supervisor there would be the occasional account that I had never seen before and wasn't 100% sure how to handle.

The biggest con I would say is it's seems like a daunting task when you first start to learn all the different accounts. At least, I know that was on the main reasons why I felt like I should find another job when I first started. But after a month or two, you find a groove and a way to handle most the accounts. So get over that first hump and you should be able to hang.

Biggest pro, I had a good manager when I was there. Kept it professional, but also kept it real. Ideal for people who prefer a straight answer instead of just a regurgitated corporate line. Also, due to the low entry requirements, it's great for people new to the work force/college students.

Racial, sexist and bigoted slurs were a constant in this "business". Equipment rarely worked, and if it did, it did so poorly, and reflected badly on you. The flexibility, at first, was appealing to someone trying to re-enter the work force and already fighting to survive, but the ever-changing and otherwise ridiculous and outrageous demands fought valiantly against being sent home early nearly every day. 

Having to listen to and deal with supervisors using racial, sexist and bigoted slurs against others took a toll. 

Training included (IF the appropriate equipment was available, which, most times, was NOT), allowed you, at most an hour of following along and then being thrown into the fire. I felt anxious, targeted and as if I were constantly in a hostile environment every day walking in, and even worse walking out when the work ran out and we had to leave. 

The company pounds PII importance into their employees, but then absolutely disregards that legality themselves. 

I appreciated having a job, but after being let go due to a supervisors inability to deal with stress, realized that living under a bridge is ultimately the better deal than ever working for this hypocritical, bigoted, terroristic company ever again. 

If you have no morals, love to gossip and be hateful, rude, and terrible to people, this is the job for you. If you pride yourself in any other way, do not even take the time to even read the job description.

I use to enjoy my job, but changes were made within the company that changed that. The micromanage became unbearable. It made you feel like you could not pause your phone bar for even a second or you would be questioned as to why. Training was awful and new agents were thrown on the phones too early which would effect the clients/accounts as well as the senior agents. clients  would call in upset about mistakes being made and the agents would be left to clean up the mess because instead of having a client and management line the clients would be given a number to call that routed to the agents on the floor and majority of the time management would not answer to connect them and the few times they did they just had us "take a message".  The pay rate is a joke considering the job consisted way more than answering phones and taking messages. We were scheduling dispatching and acting as receptionist as well. There were accounts that mostly received angry callers for one reason or another so we were often yelled at and talked down to for things that we had no control over. A point system is used and if you were 1 minute late from breaks or clocking in you were marked for it. The phone system was constantly giving us issues but agents were still held accountable for the outcome it brought.  I understand that calls need to be answered in a timely manner but the way they go about doing things is only making employees miserable and not wanting to be there which effect the call handling.

I have worked in ACA sales for 3 year in a row. I was discouraged. The positions never lived up to expectations. AnswerNet has been a blessing. The training was thorough, well planned and comprehensive for the mission. They serious about selling ACA Marketplace plans with integrity and honesty. This is very hard to find. My management team works with me daily in order for me to achieve my goals and be happy with my employment at the same time. The culture is positive and motivating. I enjoy beginning my work day and feel I provide value to AnswerNet because I feel as though I have an investment in their future. I have learned how to properly sell Marketplace plans and provide good customer service in the process. They care about me! My team manager is funny, experienced and knowledgeable on the plans and never makes me feel I am simply a number to them. I in turn give them my best efforts and dedication. I feel part of the family. I want to get better for them everyday. The training on new systems wasn't difficult, but went by quickly so I knew I needed to be sharp every day. That by far was the most difficult part of my job. Navigating the system quickly took time, but with the help of 3 monitors I am able to be very quick and efficient.

The day starts with updating the cash flow sheet from over 40 sites around the country and from the four main banks. The following task is checking e-mail and responding to site General Managers on any and all questions regarding there cash issues. Next comes generating checks by phone that the general managers send into corporate. Following this I scan the checks by phone into the respective banks and apply the payments into the Tela-Data system. After this I receive and sort the mail separating payments from  miscellaneous on a typical day I receive 75-100 payments by check which are separated by site stamped and deposited into there respective banks and there accounts updated in Tela-Data system. The task following this was to run credit cards sent into corporate by the general managers ranging from 5 cards to 10 cards a day Also in addition once a month there is recurring credit cards where I would run 150 cards generate a accepted and declined list to e-mail the respective general managers and apply the accepted payments into Tela-Data. Through the course of the day I communicate with the Accounting Manager and Cash Coordinator to function our team at the highest level of efficiency to tackle head on any and all cash challenges.

I love the idea to work from home so I can be there for my family more & I have seen advancement opportunities come up however never even been considered with my 20+ years experience.  Upper management tends to ignore the real problems happening it seems do to personal ties with some. And pay could be better for those with experienced. So simple you just need to follow company policies & protocols & be punctual & respectful to others! The position is simple & COMMUNICATE AS A TEAM RESPECTFULLY should be key also. There is serious  lack of communication at this site & people get away with getting paid to do very little work pushing that work load on others. I have learned if a person has been hired & fired more then 2-3 times at the same place that should tell you that, that employee should NOT be hired again &  given admin privileges. The hardest part of the job, doing your part the very best you can quickly while your co-workers do their job extremely poorly when ever they feel like doing the work. This site needs A LOT OF IMPROVEMENTS. However this company is a great place to work for! I enjoy my job I enjoy helping people any way I can.
