 Department  heads are very unprofessional especially  administration some  of the staff is her friend and they don't  do work until almost time to go home after they being sitting around  most of the day..we gets no lunch some of the staff  takes their lunch break abd come back a hour later so now the other staff can't  take their  lunch do to the patients is getting ready to eat so now they have to wait after trays is passed out and picked  up..and then they have to make rounds and clean up their  patients  and after all that's  done it's  time to puvh out and go home. Snd they have a patient yhst dies what he wants to staff by running  them over with his motor  chair snd when he can't have his way he throws tantrums  fits and hits the staff and kicks them .ee report  it to the adminstrator but nothing  get's  done. Plus we had a patient that had covid on August  29 and infected her whole room with 3 other  patients  and for about 2 weeks then they moved her in a private  room for another  2 week and had sone of the aids staying in the room taking care of her do she couldn't  come out unless  they were  taking a break or being relieved to go on lunch or something. Snd the activity aide refuses to go to the store for certain  patients. she only goes out for the ones she like tells the other ones  no or she ignore  them or she keeps walking by them not answering  them when they say to her are you going to the store she just smirk and keep walking. Some of the patients  complain about her not giving them there change.so they ask the cnas but we not a be to handle their money .hoping  things get better and be like they was.a place that you love to come to  work abd not be stressed out. 

Managers and nurses were too busy on their cell phones and talking about things other than patients' well being. Get a good lawyer if your loved one ends up here. Certified nursing assistants take care of 15-20 patients per each assistant in the morning shift, 18-23 patients each in the afternoon shift, and 30-60 patients at night shift. Night shift is always short, so expect your loved one to lay in a soiled diaper for at least 4 hours, and don't expect a nurse to change a diaper even if they are missing a lot of assistants on any shift. Then since night shift is short staffed that means morning shift will run 2-3 hours behind. Most patients will eat a cold or reheated breakfast at 9:30am, will not get showers as scheduled 2x/week, will not receive exercises after running out of their therapy days, because the rehab aides are too busy weighing patients and doing cna work too. Management will move your loved one from room to room, lose their belongings, not replace broken glasses, broken dentures. Managers and nurses will not answer call lights, will not help feed residents. The only time this place was tolerable was when the Illinois Department of Public Health was in the facility doing a annual survey or investigation, because then all the Chiefs end up helping us Indians, not just spending their valuable time shuffling paperwork or chit chatting or overcharging you, ripping off taxpayers and ripping off the Medicaid/Medicare programs. Corporate greed at it's best. For profit company, taking advantage of the elderly and the ill, and it's hardworking nursing assistants.

I felt very at home and comfortable in my workplace. I loved my coworkers, they were practically my therapists, I have a very strong bond with most of them still. I loved the residents. Most days were amazing and I really felt like I was making a difference in their world and actually saving lives. But then I took a step back and realized that the staffing is so short that these residents weren’t being taken care of to their maximum potential. I can name maybe a handful of times in the year I worked there that we had actual sufficient staffing on my shift. I found myself putting too many tasks on my shoulders during my shift and becoming over stressed, it took many emotional breakdowns to realize that I needed to take a step back because I can’t fix everything that was wrong and I was barely putting a dent in helping at the end of the day. I felt very unappreciated for the work I was putting forward though. They were signing new people on with large sign on bonuses while the workers who have been there through covid and low staffing were being rewarded absolutely nothing for staying with the company through such difficult times and putting in so much work. I apologize for this being so long, just being honest. If you can handle some stress at times and a lot of weight on your shoulders, this job is for you. I just wasn’t made for it and I really wish I was. The people make it worth the experience of working there , I just wasn’t able to handle all of the stress and accept that some things were just out of my control. 

I worked at international location on 48th and western during the worst of the Covid. We had the most wonderful caring managers that really did hold our hand through this and I never felt alone on the floor. It was truly the definition of teamwork for me. I departed from the company when I relocated. Had I not moved, I would have never left. I still think about my coworkers old bosses and even residents. That place was special to me. It was the first place I worked that I felt the patients were truly  the number one priority and at least 90% of the people that worked there held that standard. Hero’s that came to work in a pandemic and stood firmly on the front line daily and did so in good spirit for the most part. I had a boss that believed in me and appreciated my efforts. And when my time came to move forward that gave me the confidence I needed to advance in my career. I’ve been a CNA 14 years I’ve worked in all types of places and have experienced many different care settings. Yet I have never worked at a place I wouldn’t mind putting my own family in until now. The way most of the staff still carried themselves very professional and gave each patient the upmost care even when visitors were banned or limited. Even when no one was watching. We all did a great job 2019-2021 Aperion International! I’m proud of us all. I would definitely work here again in a heartbeat if I ever moved back to Chicago. In fact, it’s the first place I’d go. 

I ve been working for aperion for almost 2 years now .Since I have been there I have received Three raises.The starting pay was well above other nursing homes if you are a experienced cna. We have a unique uniform with pool shirts and kahki pants. Also my work does not go not noticed the management staff give appreciation give cards and treats for staff who go over and beyond. Aperion also offers great benefits also. The management team is very professional and try to communicate clear as possible to new staff and residents. Throughout the cov 19 pandemic aperion has been outstanding. We were provided with all our ppe equipment everyday we never run out.Aperion offered great bonus to employees to accommodate throughout the pandemic. Also our administrator offered moral support and counseling because things can get out of control mentally she made us feel very comfortable and was there with us the whole time. The building has a great team of housekeepers who maintain the cleanliness and sanitizing of building throughout the pandemic.Overall the staff welcomes you to the team with open arms. The things that I appreciate the most is the residents they really appreciate a person who cares for them. 


I enjoyed my career in helping the lost, forgotten, and disabled. The Aperion Care I worked for was on their third administrator in 14 months. Many F tags and G tags in nursing care. Census was extremely low. Fourth DON in 14 months. No MDS coordinator, No wound nurse, No ADON, no restorative coordinator, and no care plan coordinator. Very poor professionalism. If I could take every single one of my residents with me wherever I go, I would take them all. I have tried to speak up about the care, but was threatened by the regional and new administrator many times. I want to grow with a company, not watch it collapse and I can not do anything about it. Extremely stressful job because of upper management. I learned how to sign residents up for Medicaid, to do Re-De's, obtain additional information for Medicaid. My hand was in every department. I am extremely grateful for the knowledge and experience I have obtained and I ready to settle down and stay with a company and care for residents. My life's mission is to serve. I am very organized in my work environment. My co-workers understand the facility is on its last legs. My desire is to join a teem work environment that thrives on communication. I look forward to my next journey ad I hope it is a lifetime one.

My experience at Aperion Care as a Business Development Assistant since March 2023 has been both professionally enriching and personally rewarding. In this position, I manage daily census tracking, conduct monthly audits, oversee facility purchases, and maintain up-to-date bed availability. This place is a joke & seriously needs to be shut down! They will hire ANYBODY who has the certification or licensing needed by law! They don't run background checks or give drug tests prior to hiring! The management team is extremely unprofessional. If you're not in their "click", you're bound to either be put in a situation where you have no option but to resign, unless you're ok with going completely against morals & laws. Or, you will be setup to be terminated! I have worked in THREE separate Aperion LTC facilities, thinking MAYBE it was the group of people I had to work with, giving Aperion the benefit of the doubt (plus the pay is decent) but, I was sadly mistaken because every one of them are all ran the same! I have also worked for the previous owners & the day, (maybe the first week) Aperion took over, everything completely changed for the worse! I'm not even exaggerating! The owners are all about making and saving a dollar! The quality of care that your loved one is given is the very LAST thing they're concerned about! If you do an extensive nursing home background check prior to putting a loved one into a LTC facility && you end up choosing Aperion, SHAME ON YOU!!! The Peru Aperion wasn't rated the WORST NURSING HOME IN THE NATION for no reason, & that's a fact!!

This company is horrible and only cares about money- not the residents or staff. There is never no supplies, I actually brought in gloves!  I didn’t receive a proper orientation and you never know their policy and procedures because it’s constantly changing to fit their needs. They are dirty and will try and find a reason to get rid of you so they don’t have to pay you your bonus. They will keep you around until they hire someone one else. The administrator is horrible and lazy and doesn’t know her job. They brought her back from retirement, she should have stayed in retirement. She’s too old to do the job and she starts drama and plays the staff against one another. Do not waste your time or put your license on the line. No one smart ever stays and the care is way below standards! Corporate doesn’t care either, they are only nice when they want you to do something. So much illegal things going on in that place I’m surprised that the cops haven’t raided it. I never do any reviews but I felt the need to do one because Aperion is just that bad. If the census doesn’t go up by the beginning of the year they have threatened to shut the place down. Aperion’s reputation says it all and that’s why the can’t get patients or good staff.

Management is horrible!!!! Management dont ever come on floor rarely unless any higher ups or state is there. They dont trust none there employees as they have said that. Bulling and not caring that there staff is sitting there with head phones on and playing on there phone well call lights are going off. They let all there staff leave the floor whenever they want and leave just one staff on that hall well others leave for hour or more still clocked in.  They dont check on there staff to make sure they are doing there job so staff do whatever they want including leaving the residents not in good conditions. They make one nurse run three halls!.They will leave halls with just one staff and no nurse or q there except during in med pass time and then wonder why there so many fall. They false document and ask you to also false document I refused. There a lot of refusing to do stuff and management allowed it. They play favoritism badly ! Most the workers there is all about drama and just the money not taking care of the residents I loved my residents but was horrible to see how the management didn't care about them.
